OK , you guys , so to make your smothered um fried chicken and gravy , you're gonna need some chicken here .
I have some um legs and thighs .
I have pre washed these legs and thighs um with salt and vinegar and some room temperature water , lukewarm water .
So , um I'm gonna go ahead .
The first thing I'm gonna do is I am going to season my chicken .
OK ?
I am going to use some black pepper to season my chicken with , OK .
I'm gonna go ahead and with my black purple cause I gotta get it all around my chicken , you know , on every piece .
OK .
So now I'm going to use um some complete seasoning .
I need to open this .
There's a new one so it's not open .
Yeah , this is a good season and complete seasoning if you guys haven't used it before .
OK .
Season according to your liking , use some garlic powder .
OK .
I'm gonna use some onion powder .
Onion powder .
Helps bring a little spice when you cook your um fried chicken and I'm gonna use some lary seasoning salt .
You can use um whatever type of seasoning salt you have or you can use regular salt OK .
You don't have to have seasoned salt like I'm using OK , I'm gonna mix my seasoning together y'all my chicken .
You toss it around , that's how you gonna get all that seasoning on every piece like this like , so we just got the glues .
I'm gonna set this to the side , let that seasoning get on there for marinating my chicken .
I'm gonna get my flour ready a in my chicken .
OK ?
So use our purpose on self fries and them out .

But um , cause it's gonna be lightly batter , it's not gonna be um , like deep fried chicken .
OK ?
Put this back up .
OK ?
And we're gonna put um , season our flour .
So I'm put me some seasoned salt in my flour .
OK ?
With the onion powder and garlic powder in my flower and black purple .
OK ?
That's the onion pow .
The other one is the garlic .
Now I'm gonna put some black pepper in here .
I'm gonna take this top off because I want that black .
OK ?
So let me take these to the side , put some of that complete seasoning in and we are going to mix the seasoning um my flour .
So go ahead and just stir that as well .
OK .
From now we're gonna , um , that are chicken .
OK ?
Just don't like the flour , the chicken like this .
OK ?
Take any excess flour , shake it off .
That's what we mean by lighting be OK ?
You guys can see this that's slightly battered .

It's not a super thick , thick coding .
I'm gonna sit this over here to the side .
I'm gonna bottle some more y'all .
Ok .
So I have my chicken over here .
It's completed .
Um it's battered and I have my um oil in my cast iron skillet and heat it up .
But while I'm waiting for that to heat up , I'm gonna chop up me some um onion and bell pepper .
That would be different .
I'm not gonna um use the whole bell pepper .
I'm just gonna use a half a bell pepper .
Now , if you don't like bell pepper , you don't have to use a bell pepper .
I'm gonna take these um seeds out , rinse the seeds from the inside .
And what do you have ?
OK .
Now let me cut the bell pepper and if you guys wanna cook along with my video , do so because this is step by step .
Um And I know some of the younger generation may want to do it along with the video .
OK .
And that one it'll be easier .
Um OK .
Y'all .
So my um arm has heated up to the um right temperature .
So I'm gonna get ready to start um frying this chicken .
It may be too hot , but we'll see ahead of um turn it down .
So cause it heated up real quick in this um cast iron skill .
So I got it on a medium heat .
OK .
OK .
So I let it cook on the first side for about a minute when I first put it in and then I flipped it over .
Um , and I'm gonna let this cook for about another minute and then I'm gonna flip it over and I'm gonna do that , um , every three minutes and I'm gonna cook this chicken for about 16 minutes , approximately about 16 minutes .
But I'm gonna constantly turn it like every 3 to 4 minutes .
So I'm getting ready to , um , turn it over now .
Ok .
Ok .
That's some bread and from the first bag .
Ok , we're gonna take this last batch off .
Now , we're gonna get ready to start to make our gravy for our smothered chicken and gravy .
I mean our smothered chicken .
Ok .
Now , so I had a little bit um , more oil than needed to make my gravy .
So I poured that amount of oil out .
You just want a shallow amount of oil um , and you do want your pan drinks .
Ok ?
Because this is what's gonna help give um your graceful flavor .
So I'm gonna go ahead and I'm going to um add my onions .
We're gonna saute these onions and these peppers .
Ok .
While your onions are sauteed .
Um , go ahead and preheat your oven to um 350 degrees because you're gonna bake this in the oven for about um , 45 minutes .
Ok .
Ok .
You guys , so the leftover flour from when you battered your chicken , it already has some seasoning in it .
We're gonna go ahead and we're gonna use that .
Ok ?
I can't give you exact measurements because I don't know what kind of skillet you using the size .
Um , how much of oil you have left .
But I can tell you , um , you're gonna need at least from what I got you just gonna spread it out .
Ok ?
I'm gonna put that and if I need some more , then I add um , some more grapes and with um , flour to make my root for my grave .
And what you're gonna do is you gonna let this cook ?
Not like to the point where you make brown gravy but you gonna cook it a little bit cause you gonna want that flour taste .
OK ?
So cook it for about 3 to 4 minutes no longer than five .
OK ?
Cause you want a light color gravy and constantly stir it so that it doesn't burn anywhere .
OK ?
OK .
So now we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna add our chicken broth .
I'm gonna add a little bit and I add some more .
Go ahead and start it in .
It looks thin but it will get thick immediately and turn it down on low .
OK ?
It see how thick it is and you add more of the chicken broth to thin it out .
OK ?
I'm gonna add some more .
Remember I'm cooking mine in the oven so I won't be adding my own chicken in here cause I'm gonna put it in a pan .

It let it cook more about them two minutes .
OK ?
So it's the third .
So it gonna get 22 to this , I'm gonna add some um black pepper , some salt , some onion powder and some um garlic sauce .
Add some salt .
You don't have to add too much .
Add some black pepper .
Now with the black pepper when it come to gravy , I believe that you should be generous with black pepper .
Black pepper is one of the flavors that made great and on and here she use the on to add you just a little bit .
You wanna use the whole garlic you can but I'm gonna use some garlic powder .

And those stories .
Now I'm gonna get ready to pour this over into my chicken in the pan .

You guys so let's go ahead and let's um pour our gravy over um our chicken .
Mm mm mm mm .
Now this is gonna be so good .

We're gonna go ahead and we're gonna bake this in the oven for about um £4 but until your night is you know have you wanna bake yours ?
