The classic stovetop method .
One cup of water , we have one cup of rice , one tablespoon of butter and a half a teaspoon of salt melt the butter , the salt should dissolve .
Bring that to a boil , add your cup of rice which has been washed .
Notice the water in the bowl is now absolutely clear .
So we've gotten all that excess starch off the grains .
I like this method very much and it's very , very easy .
And uh using only one cup of water to one cup of rice actually gives nice individual grains .
Ok .
The water has come to a boil , add your rice stir , bring it to a boil again and once it comes to a boil , reduce it to a simmer cover and set your time for 16 minutes .
Be sure to leave the lid on while cooking to trap as much steam as possible .
Check only toward the end of the recommended time .
This one has been cooking for 16 minutes .
I'm gonna take a peek so good for very nice fluffy individual grains .
Let that steam another 10 minutes off the flame .
Well , the moment we've all been waiting for 10 minutes are up the rice has steamed now , just fluff it with the tis of a fork and it's nice all the way to the bottom of the layer of rice .
There's no excess water in the pan .
Your race is not sticky .
The grains are individual , very , very well cooked .
