Hello , youtube .
Welcome back to my third video of this series .
Today , we will be drawing a front view male character in manga style .
Once again , I'll be following my manga workshop tutorial book .
All you will need for this tutorial is a pencil and an eraser and of course a paper .
So let's begin similar to the first tutorial .
The basics are the same start off by sketching a rough circle , then add a vertical line to divide the circle in half , add a horizontal line at the end of the circle which will be the nose line , add another line which will be the chin line allow for a larger space than the female head because male manga characters tend to have longer faces .
Next , I will start outlining the job .
Usually the chin is not as pointy as the female characters .
Unless your character is a young boy , I will then sketch the neck which has to be thick to convey a masculine look .
120.01 --> 180.369
Remember that male characters tend to have smaller eyes than female characters .
I have moved to sketch the other eye , try to make them similar a skill which comes with practice .
Next , I'm drawing the eye Iris .
I got it mixed up in the first tutorial .
It's actually called iris .
Then draw the highlight circle which is the light reflecting on the eyes .
I will draw the pupil now and shaded a bit darker .
Next , I'm driving the eyebrows .
It's better to make them a bit thicker than female characters .
Draw the nose in the nose line as shown and then the mouse underneath .
Next , I'm erasing all the guidelines and adjusting the sketch just a bit .
Mhm And it looks good that way we don't need to draw hair , do we ?
OK .
So you're telling me that you don't like , I'm a big fan of one punch man , but it's all right .
Let's add hair so that everyone is happy .
I'll give them a sports hair band .
I don't know if that's what they call it , but it's just cool .
Now , we venture into drawing the hair since I gave him that sporty band , we'll give him some sporty hair too .
Notice how the hair strands of male characters are usually stiff and they're less wavy than girls manga characters .
Again , it adds to their masculine look , decide on where you want to part your character's hair and outlines as strong .
I've extended the hair beyond the initial circle to give it more volume .
Now I'm erasing the circle guidelines , fixing the length of the flying hair strands , final touches and then we're done next .
I'll leave you with the time lapsed video to outline with favorite Castle Brown pencil and I will color with soft pastels just to try them out and just see how it's gonna look .
I wasn't planning to color it to be honest , but I just wanted to see um if I can use soft pastels to color without them being the secondary um tools .
All right , everyone .
I hope you enjoyed this video .
