Smith is a delicious wing shaped bread encrusted with loads of roasted sesame seeds .
It has a unique aroma and taste .
And in this video , we are going to see how to make a homemade simi with a crispy crust and soft cream and a simi just the way that we get from the streets of Istanbul .
As the first step , let's prepare the bread dough .
I'm adding some lukewarm water into a boil water which is not cold , not hot but just slightly warm .
43.819 --> 111.139
And after for about six minutes , our dough is now solved .
But the surface may not be very smooth .
And that's ok .
That's the way it should be .
And now we are going to divide this dough here .
I'm dividing it into four equal parts .
I'm rolling it into a small cylinder shape of approximately 10 centimeters in length and now cover them so that it will not get dry and let them sit and rest for 10 minutes .
And in the meantime , let's roast our sesame seeds on medium heat until they are light golden in color .
And now they're done and I'm transferring them onto a tray and let them cool down completely .
I do is not ready for the next step .
So take each portion and then divide it into two equal parts and then roll and long it it into a dose strand of approximately 30 centimeters in length and then intertwined them and squeeze the two ends together to form a ring .
We need to press and roll it on the scene so that they both stay in place and they hold the shape .
I'm placing it on a baking tray .
So now we've prepared all our four rings and now let's cut our smits with molasses and sesame seeds .
So here is our roasted sesame seeds and into the spoil .
313.85 --> 375.66
So now we finish the pre shaping of our summit and they are not ready for proofing or rising to cover and place them in a warm environment and let them proof for 30 minutes .
And after half an hour , they look so beautiful and they have puffed up slightly .
And now to give them that signature Smith a shape , let's do the final shaping of our Smith .
So take each of those proofed rings and then just elongate the rings so that the diameter gets bigger .
And at the same time , I'm taking care not to deflate the door completely .
And now place si onto a baking tray and now they are all ready to go into the oven to bake at 4 50 F , preheated oven for 10 minutes and then reduce the temperature to 400 F and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes .
And after baking , we'll get those beautiful cements that smells amazing .
And they have a unique flavor from those roasted sesame seeds and from those grape molasses .
And this is one of my most favorite breads and they have a crispy crest and soft cream and they are best to have while they are fresh and warm out of the oven .
And we can have them for breakfast with some feta cheese and some olives .
And we can also have them with the evening tea .
And this bread is so versatile that it goes pretty well with any of those fruit jams or with some chocolate hazelnut spread or even with some plain butter .
And it's so good that this bread is one of those bread recipes that requires a less needing and less proofing time .
And so we can make them faster than many other bread recipes .
And if you want to make a big batch , you can double this recipe .
I hope you like this recipe and I hope you will make this at home and I'm sure you will love this bread .
And thank you so much for your love and support and thanks for watching this video .
See you next time .
