Turkish Sambali _ Revani (Basbousa) Dessert With Semolina (No Egg, Oil, Flour)

Hello , everyone .

This is a Alton .

Welcome to Turkish food recipes today .

I would like to show you a very easy recipe uh called it is similar to and actually it has no oil , egg and a flour in it .

Very easy to make and so delicious .

Let's make it for this recipe .

We will need one cup of milk , one cup of sugar , two cups , semolina , about half cup almonds and half teaspoon baking soda .

And for the sugar syrup , two cups , sugar , two cups , water and 1/4 of lemon .

First , I'm gonna add the semolina flour .

The size might change depends on your region .

So try to pick the 10 ones and granulated sugar , baking soda , milk .

I'm just going to mix everything with spatula .

What ?

Here I have about 30 centimeter diameter .

Uh round pan .

I'm just going , going to graze with some oil .

Try to use here a similar pan .

If you use bigger ones , it will be thin .

So this is important but it doesn't have to be round pen .

You can use a square or another also just make an even layer and wait about one hour .

In the meanwhile , we can prepare the syrup .

So in a medium pan , I'm adding two cups of water and two cups of granulated sugar in a medium high heat .

Uh first stir until the sugar dissolves and squeeze 1/4 lemon and put inside .

Also after boiling , boil about five more minutes , turn off the heat and your syrup is ready to be cool .

So here it's been an hour and as you see the , the soaked the milk so we can begin to make the shape .

We will cut the uh dessert before it's , it bakes .

Uh I wanted to make a , a star shape , uh which looks really uh beautifully before I showed you how to cut a star shaped baklava .

So I'm just gonna make it quick here , but of course , you don't have to do it this way .

You can just cut it for a square or the diamond shape .

So after cutting , I'm just gonna place uh on the middle side of each piece , some almonds which I soaked in a hot water boiled for one minute .

And then as you see , you can peel it very easily this way .

Uh Besides almonds , you can use pine nuts , peanuts and try to use round ones , not salted and roasted .

And here is our shamble .

The top , the ready to be baked in about uh 1 70 Celsius degree , preheated oven bake about uh , 40 minutes until it is really gold color on top and , uh , on the bottom , don't forget to give thumbs up .

Uh , as you see , it's beautifully came out .

Uh , before I pour the syrup , I would like to cut from this , um , pieces again .

So it will soak the syrup better .

My syrup in here uh , is at room temperature and it soaks really well , actually it is better if you can wait about 45 hours or even one day of before eating .

But it , it really is hard to wait because it looks very beautiful .

So I didn't wait either .

In turkey , we usually serve it with a which is , it's kind of a heavy cream .

Actually , you can use whipped heavy cream on top .

It is really an authentic and very easy delicious recipe .
