The BEST WAY to fix PAINT CHIPS on YOUR CAR!

Not , I made what is up guys .

So for Canadian Rider here , this video , I'm going to show you the absolute best way to fix stone chips on your car .

So in my garage , I have my 2008 Audi R A .

It's in this nice black color .

Now , you guys know black is horrible for showing imperfections when it comes to so marks or paint chips .

So I really want to address those stone chips before I went ahead and put the paint protection film on .

I've been detailing cars for the last seven years and honestly , from that experience , the best way to repair these kind of stone chips and road rash is a kit like chips or doctor color chip .

These kits actually work very differently than your traditional paint chip repair .

So normally you're used to having a paint pen , putting a little bit of paint on the chip and then leaving it to dry and then sanding the top of the chip and then hopefully leveling it with the paint .

These kits actually go completely different what you're going to do smear paint all over the chip and the surrounding area and then use a solution to pull all the paint that's outside of the chip or not in the chip and it leaves the paint in the chip there .

So , what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take you on the process of exactly how to use this kit and I'll show you the incredible results .

This kit has gotten me on the Audi R eight for the majority of the stone chips , like 95% of them .

They've completely disappeared .

You can't even tell that they have rock chips on the panel anymore .

So before you begin , what you wanna do is work with a car that's completely paint corrected and it's been clay bar and cleaned and washed .

So in this case , here , my 2008 Audi R eight , I've already done that .

So I did a full paint correction on the car , car .

If you don't know how to do that , I can put a car above where I go through step by step , how to do a full paint correction on your car .

So this car now is swirl free and scratch free .

I did a clay bar on it .

It's been washed .

So the paint is in the best condition .

It can be .

There's no damage to it .

It's pure and clean and it's ready to be addressed with this touch up paint .

And finally , you need to make sure that there's no contaminants on the paint .

I've already stressed this , but especially no wax , nothing like that .

So if you need to use isopropyl alcohol , 90% and just make sure the entire area is clean of any kind of waxes or any other kind of chemicals .

So in this example here , I'm gonna be using Chip Fix .

Now , this is the Canadian solution for Doctor Color Chip , which a lot of the US people get .

So either kit , they both work the same exactly the same way .

Just two different companies making the kit , you're gonna wanna make sure you don't work in too big of an area , right ?

So let's say you wanna work on a quarter of the hood that's been damaged .

So maybe like 12 or 10 different chips around the near area .

That's kind of the workspace we want to work with .

So what we're gonna do is you're gonna shake up your paint , you're gonna make sure you give it a good shake because you want everything there in the mix .

So you're gonna take the paint and it , they either supply you with a brush .

So in this case , they supplied me with a brush and then you have your gloves .

What we're gonna do is you wanna dab the paint into those chips .

Now , you don't have to worry about it being messy because the , the dissolver solution or the solvent is going to help remove all that in the end , um , smear the paint on there on all the chips .

And then what I actually did was , is you really want to make sure the paint is going inside of the chip .

So after I dabbed it with the brush , I use my finger on the latex glove , my thumb and I just kind of smear the paint over the chip , right ?

Kind of just smear it over to make sure it's there .

I usually wait a minute depending on the temperature .

It depends on your temperature and humidity in the area .

You wanna make sure that it dries .

Now , while the paint is drying , you're gonna go ahead and take your leveler solution , you're gonna take that and apply a little bit of it onto the rag that they supply you with .

Now , you don't want to apply too much .

Number one because they don't give you that much to begin with .

Number two is because the product actually goes a long way .

So go ahead , apply a little bit of it onto your rag and now once the drying time has passed about a minute , what you're gonna do is lightly take that cloth with the solution and rub it up and down across the chips .

What you're gonna see happening is it's gonna start dissolving all the paint around the chip and not actually in the chip .

Now , what you want to do is focus on not rubbing down on exactly where you filled the chip in but around the edges and the sides where the excess paint is .

So you're gonna keep going no pressure light up and down , up and down , up and down .

And what you're gonna see is eventually the paint around the chip is gonna come off and you're gonna have all the paint that's left on the car is in the chip and not outside on your clear coat and the paint that surrounds it honestly , for small to medium sized chips .

This kit is mind blowing for the smaller ones .

It completely removes the chip and you don't even recognize that it's there .

And this video is in four K by the way , and you guys can see the amazing difference that this does on the smaller chips and on the medium chips for a lot of them , it does 95% coverage .

Can't even tell that the chip was a chip .

The kit does remarkably well for these type of situations for any kind of small to medium sized chips , any kind of road rash .

So what I've done is even for the bigger chips , like I have these two big ones on the front hood of my R eight .

It basically took out 80% of the visibility of those chips .

Now , those two chips are fairly deep .

They went all the way down into the primer , like deep into the primer .

I'm surprised they're not bare metal .

Incredible .

That is incredible .

Wow .

So , all right , I was gonna do a voice over for this , but the results are incredible .

Let me just wipe off the paint and you guys are gonna see .

But this is , this is crazy like this is exactly what I needed this product to do .

It's removed the , it's filled in just the chip , right ?

It's just filled in the chip .

It's basically colored in the chip .

So it blends in with the paint .

It didn't actually fill the chip all the way , but it , it colors the chip so you don't even notice it anymore .

And from three ft out you barely even notice the chips anymore .

It's , it's crazy because the chips are so deep .

What Doctor Chip or Chip fix does is it , it fills in the chip with the color around the paint .

So you're gonna actually notice that the actual divot is still there within the paint , but at least the divot isn't white , it's painted the rest of the color .

So you don't notice it as much at all .

From a far distance from three ft away , you'd have a hard time even finding out about it .

You can see the results here , did an amazing job , but for sure if you have small to medium sized rock chips all over your car on the front hood .

This kind of a kit is a much , much better solution than going to the O E M Toyota .

BMW Audi getting a paint pen and doing it yourself .

This is a so much more effective than that B it's gonna do way better of a job for you versus the paint pen three .

It's gonna do the job 10 times better .

And trust me , I have a lot of experience in this stuff with wet sanding paint chips and all this stuff .

It will do it 10 times better than anyone out there .

Even like a experienced professional like me in correcting or fixing stone chips .

So honestly , it's pretty magical using this stuff .

I , I don't know what this uh leveler solution is .

It must be a mix of like paint thinners or something , but it does a phenomenal job and this kit is definitely worth , I think I paid for this kit , 72 Canadian dollars for this kit and it's supposed to cover 200 stone chips .

So it , it does a lot .

But the thing is you need to make sure you use very sparingly the leveler solution because number one , they don't give you much for the amount of paint that they give you with the kit and you gotta make sure you use every last bit of that stuff and use it as much as you can .

So um overall super , super happy with these results guys you can see for yourself and I don't know how many times I have to show it .

So I went ahead and I repaired maybe like 40 stone chips on my R A and these were like majority like 38 of them were like the small ones which completely vanished .

And then the two of them were those bigger stone chips , which I just showed you that they kind of covered like 80% .

This is phenomenal guys .

If you were thinking about respraying the front end of your car or something , that's just ridiculous .

That's thousands of dollars to do that .

When in the certain situations , this kit or a doctor color chip or chip fix kit can save you so much money .

And honestly , it's super user friendly um really easy to use and it , it literally took me what an hour to do all of this .

So I couldn't be happier with the kit if you're definitely looking for the absolute best way to fix small to medium sized stone chips and even the bigger stone chips do not get a paint touch up pen , get a kit like doctor Col chip or chip fix .
