Learn Milky Way Photography in 5 Minutes with Nikon D5300 DSLR _ Night Sky Photography Tutorial

So let's get started .

So today I'm going to show you how to capture a nice sky with a beautiful stars and with a Gera .

But before teaching you that I'm going to show you some of my nice sky photograph .

I have taken these photos during my road trip and also in San Train as I was getting many requests from my social media friends for making a tutorial video of night sky photography .

I have decided to make this video and guess what night sky photography is super simple .

What you need to do is just follow my steps .

So friends here is my DS is N D 5300 and I am using NCO 18 55 M M lens .

So before start nights photography , you need to make sure your camera should not have any polarizer or U V filter mount on your lens .

And right now uh a polarizer mount on my lens .

So I'm using it .

So after removing the polarizer , I'm turning on my camera and after that , you need to make sure your camera is in manual mode right now .

It is in auto focus .

So I am changing it to manual mode right now .

It is in manual mode .

And after that , you need to change the three main settings of your camera .

One is the I O and second one is a , a value and last one is the shutter speed .

So nice sky photography for nice sky photography .

You can , can start with 1600 is oval and up to 3200 or 6400 .

So I'm setting it 21600 .

After that , we need to change the , the version , I'm changing it up to 3.5 and you can , you can use it up to uh 2.8 or 1.4 if your camera allows it and the last one is a shutter speed .

Uh I'm changing it to 22nd and you can change it up to up to 30 seconds or 25 or it may be 15 2nd .

So I'm I turn 30 to 22nd .

So it's almost ready to shoot a decent night photograph .

Another thing you have to make sure that you're shooting in a raw format , so it will be easy to edit your photo in add a Photoshop and lightroom .

But before putting it on Tripod , make sure the long exposure noise reduction is off and the higher noise reduction is off .

You can find these settings from your menu .

And here you can see the long exposure noise reduction is on .

So I'm turning it off and the highest ione in a noise direction is in normal mode .

I'm turning it off .

Also .

Now coming to the most important part of night sky photography , uh after mounting your camera on tripod , you need to focus your camera to the nearest visible object .

If there is a P star , you can use your toss to light up a nearest object and then you can manually focus that object .

After that , you have to mount it on your tripod and set the timer for 5 to 10 seconds .

After setting the timer , you praise the charter .

So after placing the shutter button , you have to wait for a while and after 22nd or 32nd , uh whichever you sit on your camera , you can see the image we come up in your display .

If everything is fine , like uh your framing and focus , then you have to go for a post processing which can be done in a , in a light room or in a Photoshop for image post processing .
