Right now , we are at Western Auto Marine and we are getting fish glove fishing gear .
We're getting like an anchor rope and we're also looking for rain gear .
Joe needed new rain pants and I needed a raincoat .
Bonnie is gonna go look at pets and pet co and we gotta go check out Sportsman's warehouse for a few things .
What's a bird say ?
Is it so cute ?
You saying ?
Hi .
Where are we going ?
Honey ?
We're going to the barge .
Do we have to send more stuff home ?
I'm no fairy from Juno to cake until like the end of August and we're in July .
So , uh we're gonna have to barge some stuff home , which is not as good of a deal , which hurts my soul , but you know , you gotta do what you gotta do .
And so right now we're driving down the Barch .
I'm in one car and Joe's in our other friend's car because not everything fit in our car .
So , oh , you wanna play at the park ?
I know you just love the park , but we have to um , bring this up to the barge first .
We're driving to downtown .
Do you know , the barge is through downtown .
So you have to drive all the way through downtown in order to get there .
Here is our Juno Am L clack of stuff .
Uh There's no ferry back for a while , so I just had to do it , but the bullet send it on email , but we got bon and cool wagon , got some food .
If you've been following along at this point in time , this is the exact same company that sent our stuff in Seattle except we are now in Juno sending stuff .
Um And what's unfortunate about the way that we're doing this now is it has to go all the way down to Seattle first and then back up .
So it's just kind of a kind of a pain .
It's a loop .
But you know , does the trick when you need to , your favorite part bringing us up to AM L .
So this one ended up weighing £385 .
So we'll go see how much that costs the final tally .
The final total for shipping stuff to cake from uh Juno was 100 and $38.24 for almost £400 worth of stuff , which really actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be .
So , um , yeah , not bad here we are back at Costco .
We needed to go shopping for our produce and our vegetables and our dairy products and then we needed to , uh , we had , we asked our couple of our good friends if they needed anything while we were in Juneau .
And so they had kind of sent us with a list as well .
Not too many items , but we had to send everything back on the , this stuff back on the plane .
So , um , there wasn't too much but each of them was like , oh , yeah , there's a few things we could use for sure .
So we ended up getting some things for some friends and then we got our stuff that would go in the fridge that we can't send on the March .
Working through Joe has to go get another car .
Car was just too old and we need more stuff .
Yeah , we're gonna go into Fred Meyer and do some last minute uh grocery shopping .
We leave today on the plane but we need to send some produce home for ourselves .
So we have some food when we get there .
We just sent £200 of groceries to ourselves and now we're getting ready to send some groceries to grandma , Papa Mic and Kirsten and Uncle John .
Uh yeah .
So we're trying to help people out while they're in town and send them some groceries .
We got done dropping everything off .
Auntie and uncle laying with .
I had a few .
Wow .
Oh , Bonnie , we're on our way to the airport .
It's time to go back to cake after our almost like two month vacation .
You ready to go home .
You gonna go on the airplane ?
Where are you gonna go ?
I do home .
He eat dinner .
Yeah .
So the ghosts love you .
I go on the airplane .
The airplane .
Are you so excited ?
This is Papa Juno .
Oh I'm fine .
But can you say ?
All right , we made it , we're , we're officially home .
Um All of our friends came to meet us at the airport which was freaking awesome .
You guys rock .
Um I got , I already got my , a negative COVID test .
So that was pretty cool .
That was a very quick turn around in June .
Yeah , we're excited to be home .
We have a long journey ahead of us .
If you've been following along so far , you guys know what the whole process is gonna look like .
So anyway , now we uh have to get home and get a little one on the potty into night , night .
So , yeah , and find some dinner .
Yes , dinner .
Yeah , probably smoked salmon .
I don't know who knows who herring eggs .
Bony is discovering all of her toys and having lots of fun .
We went down to the barge and we ended up getting our bikes and Bonnie's bed and our um containers were kind of behind some other people's stuff .
So it was really hard to get to .
So we didn't want to take everything out .
We were just gonna wait and uh , but we wanted to get our bikes because we really had to go for a bike ride and try them out .
And then we also wanted to get Bonnie's bed because we , we didn't really want her to be sleeping in her crib anymore .
We wanted to just go right into a bed because she hadn't been in her crib for like two months .
And so we thought the crib would kind of freak her out again and she just want to crawl out of it all night .
So we went and got the bed and put it together .
So that way she could sleep in her big girl bed .
So this is what it looks like when the crates are coming off of the barge .
So this is what our stuff got put on on the barge .
And here is one of our , I think Bonnie so far is the most excited about her new stroller for the bikes because she really wants to go on a bike ride .
Who smooshed careful , babe .
Push it .
Stay where mommy dad can see you though .
What does daddy have Bonnie's new bid ?
We're so excited is the mattress we gotta put together , babe , we'll be doing that today .
Exciting day .
We got Bonnie hooked up to the bike ready to go on our first bike ride .
All right , let's see it .
You're gonna go fast , ready .
You're safe .
Ready .
What ?
Right .
We got this far .
I'm setting up the bed and then we realized we probably need to do it in Bonnie's room .
Jeez .
And then we needed to take her crib out of her room and uh , we can't get it out without taking it apart .
Here is Bonnie's bed , big girl bed all done .
So it will eventually extend here and it can extend like another foot and then another foot to equal a regular size bed .
But for now this is all the size she needs .
So it's so sweet and it gives her more , more room .
She doesn't really play in here much .
But once we move her into her actual bedroom , this is just kind of was still her nursery .
So once we move her into the bedroom , she'll be in , there'll be more toys and stuff in there .
So she'll be able to play in there more .
Yeah , dad , dad and good .
Hang on .
Is it you , we cleared out this section so that we can .
Yeah , Bonnie got her baby .
So that way we can get all the stuff off the barge and have somewhere to put it .
It's gonna be crazy .
I'll show you when we get it all .
When we went to go get our stuff , we'd asked one of our friends to come and help us put it into our car .
But then another friend actually drove by while we were doing it and he had a big truck .
So they ended up just putting , we put some , we put the stuff from one of our tubs into our car and his truck and we ended up just putting the whole box into his truck , the other whole box into his truck to just to bring home and unload there .
So that we didn't have to unload it twice .
And that worked out really well .
So we were really glad that he came by and asked what we were up to .
So that was perfect .
So it begins , well , all in all not too bad .
I feel like this is a reasonable amount of stuff .
Uh you know , just like £1000 worth or whatever .
But um , then we also have some stuff coming in the barge from Juno and that will be here .
I don't know , man , I guess next Wednesday .
So in a few days .
But um , yeah , so now we're gonna work on putting everything away and going through stuff and yeah , Bonnie's over here eating her , lunch , her eggs .
I think that's all she's eaten so far .
She's got her eggs and cucumber and watermelon and tortilla and water .
Look at our fancy new micro .
So .
Oh yeah , Joe's peeling off stickers and everything .
Got our stuff from Juno about three boxes , some food , a couple of chairs , got a little table and we got some charcoal out here in a big pot and then away again .
But we got all our stuff .
Now we just got all our stuff put away from the bar from Seattle .
And so now we put away our stuff from Juno and we should be pretty set .
Um , the only other things we might need are like , produce things .
So like freezer stuff , fresh vegetables and fruit and then , um , like dairy products .
But for the most part , most of the dry stuff , which should be pretty good for the rest of the year .
Um , we might rain out a couple of things .
But , uh , yeah , we'll be traveling this year some more .
So , um , if we run out of a few things , we'll be able to kind of stop and get some stuff when we're going through Juneau or , um , Seattle or things like that .
But for the most part , this is what we got and now it is time to show you where we keep all of these things in our house .
Everybody has been asking the , the last year in our last year , the grocery haul and I just never got to it .
It was just too much of a mess .
But this year we decided to just go for it , show you our mess and , um , show you where we keep everything .
So here we go .
So , in our kitchen , one of the really nice things is that when my parents put in these shelves , they have a lot of kind of like pantry space just right out in the open .
So we call this our goodie cupboard .
It kind of has just goodies in it .
We have like nuts and sunflower seeds up there .
This is a box got like marshmallows and some chocolate and graham crackers , jello , some bars to eat .
Um , there's some dried fish , but back there there's just , I don't know , random stuff .
Um , we have more bars here .
Those are ones I can eat popcorn tub .
There's a gluten free tub .
So that's all my g some of the gluten free stuff .
That's open jerky down here .
So it's just lots of random stuff .
Um , it's nice to be able to grab and go when we're like going up the road or going on to the boat .
So that's where a lot of bonny snacks are .
And then below that cupboard we have up here , this top shelf has like bags , plastic bags and some paper back there for like putting down on the table .
And then we have kind of have like our drink area .
I have some Izzy and some O J we got boxed milk for Bonnie and then she had to stop drinking milk .
So I guess we'll use that if we want cereal or something .
There's some fruit packs for Bonnie , some chewy bars back there and then we are in and we did have other stuff down there .
But then when we cleaned up and organized , um , it ended up getting moved , so I'm sure that space will be filled , but it hasn't been filled yet .
So we'll see what ends up going down there , right .
So I'm here on the top .
We have , um , jarring stuff So there's like Pekin for making jam and then in that container , there's jar lids and things like that .
Um , and then just , it's just kind of just random jars that we have out .
Lots of this kind of has like jams and honey and berry , things like that .
And then down on the bottom , there's like fish and meat and , um , smoked salmon .
So this is just kind of where we keep our jars that are out .
Uh We have a lot more jars than this , but this is what's readily available .
We don't have to go searching for .
And in this one , we kind of have on the top , we have like the things that we use like our Ziploc bags and gloves on the on this row , we kind of have like cereals and then in the back there's extra utensils .
There's also like rice on this one .
We have like our something fell back there .
We have like our oatmeal and chocolate chips and just random things splenda from when my mom was here on the bottom , you kind of have it's heavy to pull out , but you have like these big containers .
So this says rice and then this has flour and then the one the back there is sugar with almond flour and things like that .
So that's kind of what's in this cupboard .
This is kind of like our everyday pantry items that we use really often , right ?
And up above the fridge in the back .
We have our some seaweed .
Um And then we were just putting our um egg crates there for when we needed them .
We got a big thing of marshmallows on our trip for .
So we don't have to keep buying marshmallows here every time we did more nights .
So we have those up there because we still have some um and we have like extra crackers and I think there's extra zip locks back there .
And then here there's like all the extra um parchment paper and re and just a bunch of things .
So this is , this is not stuff we get into all the time .
We um it's just kind of stuff that we needed a place for it to go .
This is our back pantry .
Um On this shelf here , we have our like some medicines and things like that .
But this is where we keep a bulk of our things that we end up buying .
So we have the two metal shelves here and then we have two um big closets here , pantry closets .
Um On this one here , we have like cereals , there's some pasta things .
We have extra , like big Colanders .
I don't know why we have so many Colanders .
We have a lot of colanders .
Uh but we have like chips and some more like for when I make Chex mix .
That's kind of what I use .
Um I think this one has oatmeal or oats in it and we have like , this is just a bunch of jar stuff on this rack .
Joe actually made me a gluten-free rack because they had so much stuff this time on the bottom , we like lentils and extra .
Just , you know , all the food you see us buying this is where it's going .
Um up on top there is like a box of little chips that we'll take out when we go out for um the day or whatever , more cereal .
And then we have like more jars of fish .
So like jarred fish .
Um This is like our big turkey pan for Thanksgiving .
Um This , this road doesn't really have much food on it .
It's just kind of storage .
This is uh to tapioca flour though .
And then down here we have like crackers , some popcorn .
This is a bunch of um lentils that we got on exchange .
Uh And then down here we have like our flowers and sugar and extra rice and things like that .
And then let's see .
And this first one , this is , has a lot of food also .
This is kind of more of like our , we have containers of things .
Um So we have like powdered sugar and whole wheat , flour , brown sugar , gluten-free flour , masa .
And then we have a big thing of flour .
So we don't really put flour in that little one anymore .
That's from when we were in college .
And then behind these are like extra things .
So a bunch of mass back there because we like to make our own tortillas .
Um And then on this rock back there , there's like a bunch of mayo , there's some jars of different things , pickles olives .
Um This is kind of box stuff and like some more condiments back there .
It's hard to see though .
Um I almost need to put like get like one of those lights in here so you can actually see what's back there .
Uh And then here more condiments just uh you know , replacements for things .
We got extra of whatever we might need or want .
And then uh down here we have a lot of spices all the , all the way back there .
It's just like refill spices because we also have spices up and uncovered , but we have to have extra on hand .
Um kind of like baking stuff .
There's like citric acid and um curing salt and extra cocoa powder and you know , things like that .
Then we have our pasta area .
This all over here is all gluten free noodles .
Thanks to an awesome fan who sent me a box of gluten free noodles .
I'm pretty stocked up , which is great .
Um This is like the regular noodles that we have .
And then down on the bottom down here , we have a lot of like our oils and our vinegar um that we kind of put our oils and vinegars down on the very bottom .
We don't really have food in this other cabinet .
This one really just has like extra , um , extra , like cooking things so we could do a lot better at organizing it right now .
It's just kind of a mess so we could definitely do better at that and get more space in here .
But like , there's our big bowls for like when we brine fish and things like that .
Um , there's like big jars back there for when Joe does Kimchi , we have um , like cans that we use all the time down here .
It's really dark .
Let me see .
Ok , that's better .
So we got everything .
I like chickpeas and black beans and kidney beans and there's like some baked beans back there , coconut milk , mushroom cream and mushroom soup .
You know , I just pretty much all the cans that we buy .
We try to put some down here .
So we don't have to go like all the way in the pantry and get into boxes every time .
So that way it's kind of just ready for us down here .
This is our laundry room and we keep some more stuff in here .
Um , there's like some plastic bags here .
There's soap back in this corner .
There's like different laundry soap and bleach and just different kind of cleaning things , things you need for the laundry .
Um , there's a bunch of bounce back there .
Oh , I should probably turn the light on .
Oh , much better .
And then up in here we have all of our light bulbs on top and then more cleaning stuff .
We have like swiffer wipes and then pledge stuff , um , rags , dusters , sunscreen and bug sprays in there on this side , on the top we have , this is like gun stuff , bullets and things like that .
Gun cleaning .
Um , and then more laundry , laundry soap .
Um , and then some like hand soaps we store over here .
That's pretty much the storage we have in the laundry room .
Oh , on the window seal , there's also a bunch of sprays and this is another place that we keep stuff .
This was my sister's bedroom growing up .
And , uh , mostly this is where we keep like our paper products .
So we have our toilet paper , paper , towel , more paper towel , more toilet paper , work paper towel , tissues .
And then there's some cleaning stuff up here too .
So , like our wipes are in here and then there's like the bathroom Clorox things .
Um , and then we recently put up these shelves and so like the top is all Bonnie's baby stuff .
And then , um , there's just all kind of down there .
It's like our tote with fishing stuff .
These are like totes of clothes .
I'm getting rid of very soon .
And then over here we have , um , a bunch of jars .
So these are all empty jars that we will fill up and then once we put food in them , then we'll put them , um , in the kitchen area .
So some people have said that they were surprised that .
We only got one thing in toilet paper .
Well , I was 100% sure that we had a full thing here already .
Plus what was already in the bathrooms ?
I was wrong .
So we only have , yeah , you see Mommy in the camera .
So we definitely don't have toilet paper for the whole year with what's here , but we will , um , be traveling for sure for this winter .
So we'll probably end up just getting something then and bringing it back with us .
But that happens when you are shopping for so much and then you have limited space in the vehicle you're using .
And then there's just a lot of things that add up where it's like , well , do we get two toilet papers ?
Do we get one ?
And with what space we had , I think getting one was really the best option because I don't know if two would have fit anyways .
But um , we just do our best and if all else fails , we buy it here in cake , we try not to do that , but it does happen .
So we'll all be ok and we'll , we'll make it work .
But ok , so the next thing everybody has been packing about and wondering about is how much did everything cost ?
So I'm gonna go through the receipts here and then I'll um , do like a running total at the bottom so that you can kind of see what we ended up spending .
This is for a friend of Myers in Kent when we were in Washington still .
And we ended up spending 100 and $15.99 .
And this was mostly for totes for when we were , um , putting stuff onto the barge .
But we also got a few other things while we were there .
So , while we were in Washington , we ended up getting a gopro , which was really exciting and it's been really fun to have and Bonnie , we're gonna be going to Hawaii for Christmas .
So it's gonna be super fun to have there and we're really excited about that , but we got it at Costco and we ended up spending right at like $400 .
It was on sale while we were there .
So the big Costco ha oh um that you see mostly in the video ended up being $1622.04 .
So we that wasn't the only time we had to go to Costco that Costco did not have orange juice or gluten-free flour .
And so we ended up having to look around at some other Costcos to find those things .
I think the same Costco had orange juice and gluten free flour and we ended up spending 100 and $52.93 there .
Um Let's get into IKEA .
I think that's all for Costco in Washington .
So at IKEA , we spent $17.59 on just little things that we bought while we were at the store .
And we also , I went and got some , um , a little snack and I ended up buying some , uh , apple drink also .
So that was $15.02 .
But then they actually made you buy the bed separately when you went to go pick it up .
The total for the bed was $369.81 .
So that was for the , the bed and the mattress and all the parts that went with it a little bit spendy .
But it's really cute and hopefully we'll have it for a very long time .
All right .
And I think now we're in Juno and , oh , there's an airplane going back .
Hope maybe we have some groceries on there .
That'd be great .
We haven't got groceries in like , since we got back .
So it's been like two months and , uh , we're out of every vegetable .
We have no vege , fresh vegetables in our house right now .
All right .
So we were at Western Auto Marine and that's where we got gloves and just , we ended up getting some Joe , got rain pants and I got a raincoat and that total was 2 75 98 .
We ended up having to go to the Home Depot .
I don't think we actually filmed doing that .
It was pretty last minute both of the times .
So we were just trying to rush in and get out .
But one of the times we spent 1 27 23 and we had bought boxes , I mean , a drain weasel .
Oh , the reason it was more expensive is because we bought two of the toilet seats that , um , have like the toddler seat in it as well as the regular seat .
So that way we could , um , it would be easier for Bonnie to go to the bathroom and we went , have to have like little potty seats .
And then the second time we went is because we thought Costco would have charcoal and they didn't .
So we had to go get charcoal at Home Depot and that ended up being 4 $48.11 .
So we are back at Costco in June and this is actually from before we left , this is from in May when we got all the stuff that was on sale that we thought that we would need .
And that total was 3 73 42 .
We went to Costco two more times .
One was just to get some stuff before we went on the barge that we've been wanting to get anyways like a couple of folding chairs and a little table and a couple other things like that that we could go on the barge that were dry and that one , that total was 3 40 oh five .
And then the time when we went to get our groceries to send back on the airplane , we had got I think on the video it says like five , it says 5 66 57 .
But that was including our friends food that we got there .
And then so they paid us back for that .
But we spent on our groceries for the month .
It was 2 93 53 .
And that was just for like the fruits and vegetables and dairy products that we had sent back .
And then we also saw that we went to Fred Meyers before we got on the plane .
And we ended up spending , um , $243.47 there .
And that was just for some smaller things that Costco doesn't really sell that we wanted to get and send back that we , so we would have them sending things on the barge from Seattle to cake .
The £1000 1000 , I can't remember £1400 .
I don't know , something like that was the total for sending all of that was $488.31 .
And so that was almost $500 .
It's a good chunk of change .
But the store here has to pay that same price and maybe they get a little bit of a discount for sending a lot of stuff .
But for the most part , they , they're , they're paying the same price that we are .
So , and then they still have to make money off of that .
So , uh , it definitely , it does definitely save us money to send our own things here and then from Juno to cake because the ferry didn't work out .
We ended up spending 100 and $38.24 to send .
I really don't remember how much that weighed .
I think it was almost £400 .
Thanks for watching .
This is the end of our , um , vlog where we're putting all our groceries away and this is how much everything costs .
I hope you follow along and watch some of our other vlogs .
We vlog throughout the year , even when we're not getting groceries and we just kind of share our life here in Alaska .
