What is up guys ?

We are headed to Lexus of Oakville to pick up our first , my first brand new car .

A 2023 Lexus N X 3 50 H .

I am pretty pumped about this .

You guys know I've been looking for kind of another vehicle SUV to kind of hold over a little bit .

This Lexus is amazing .

I love my Lexus I 250 .

You guys on the channel , but it's a little bit small now and the family is growing so we need a bigger vehicle and the Lexus NX 350 .

Absolutely loved it .

You guys know I went , I did a review of the Lexus NX 350 with the F sport three package .

Thanks to my good friend .

He lent it over to me .

I had it for a couple of days .

Absolutely fell in love with this offering from Lexus .

I love the new NX .

I love the exterior .

I love the styling , love the looks , love the technology package inside .

And so we pulled the trigger .

I originally wanted the lyric , right Cadillacs lyric , the all electric SUV .

Awesome offering .

Unfortunately , I don't think we're going to be seeing that vehicle that SUV come in until 2024 .

2 25 .

Not ideal for me .

Unfortunately , I can't tell the baby to stay in the oven for longer and wait .

So you looked at all the options .

We went , we went and looked at the Q five from Audi , we looked at the G V 70 as well and at the end of the day , still preferred the Lexus a lot had to do with the , by the way , the G V 70 from Genesis just beautiful vehicle inside and out the inside material finish .

I will say is a little step above than the Lexus NX .

But I felt like the N X had a better technology package and I like everything else about the N X and fuel economy .

So specifically the N X 350 H , you're getting almost 40 50% better fuel economy than the regular non hybrid model .

So this is a hybrid model , not plug in hybrid .

And you know , Toyota Lexus , they've been doing these hybrid models for a long time , so very reliable , very good mileage and performance out of this as well .

And to be honest with you , while it still lacks the horsepower compared to the M X 350 it's going to give you that power a little bit earlier on in the torque range .

So it feels pepper anyway .

So I'm not too concerned about , you know , the horsepower here .

This is really going to be a daily driver , right ?

So I wanted something that was good for a fuel economy .

I wanted something that had enough space for a growing family and I also wanted something that looks really , really nice and I love the look of this Lexus X .

So I'm going to take you guys along the journey .

I've never bought a brand new car .

I always tell people all the time don't buy brand new if you can't , right .

So if you can avoid it , buy a used one , slightly used , whatever , save some money , you know , this is 2023 we're headed into 2023 now .

Happy New Year , by the way .

And the car market is just kind of crazy .

So I kind of don't really have a choice if you want this vehicle , you need to buy it brand new .

And you know , for me , unfortunately , you got to buy the MS R P .

I negotiated a coffee mug that was all I could negotiate .

This was actually a cancel order and they canceled it wherever the buyer was and it was the exact spec we wanted .

So this is the ultra luxury package with the Eminent white pearl on the exterior and then the beige interior .

So I'm really looking forward to picking this up .

Um really , really pumped you guys know , I'm a big Lexus fan boy that had a little piece to do with making this decision .

But I wanted the lyric at first , I wanted some other vehicles and I really did feel that the N X 3 50 the H was just a better overall option than the Q five and the GB 70 especially not just thinking about the five year reliability and cost but like over a long period of ownership time , which is what I plan on having this car for .

I plan on owning it forever .

Kind of just like this one .

You know , I want to go with the Lexus reliable , proven great tech package .

I love the big screen on that too .

So I'll take you guys along .

I'm looking forward to it .

Let's see what a new vehicle pickup feels for the first time in my life .

It was actually my dad that always told me never to buy new cars .

Very good advice actually , right , especially for those that are conscious on price .

Um When I told him that I got this N X and he's like , did you buy it from the dealership ?

I'm like , Yes , he's like , he loves Lexus so much .

He's like , you know what , you bought a good quality car at least .

And I seen 100 of them parked right outside being ready for shipment and I'm pretty sure it's the steel or the aluminum that I'm going ahead and shipping to them .

And I'm like , you know what ?

You're probably right .

So he wasn't actually so upset with me buying this brand new car at the end of the day .

It's a Lexus .

If there is one car to buy brand new that you know will last and hold a lot of value or as much value as you could hope a car could hold , it would be the Lexus .

So there's that saving grace , right ?

Like I don't feel so bad .

So we're here .

I'm excited .

This one's an F sport one .

So we did a review previously .

You guys know the black F sport looks nice , right ?

These are painted to match the body color .

We didn't get that or bolstered seating .

All that jazz .

Well , my insurance company didn't forward them the insurance and of course you need insurance to drive off of the lot .

So I'm on the phone waiting .

I let her know three weeks ago , this is the mug I'll be taking as my souvenir .

So how excited are you for the Mommy mobile ?

You're gonna be Mommy mobile .

So believe it or not , there's still a lot of paperwork that needs to be done even though you sign all the papers and all that jazz .

So we just finished it all off .

The insurance is all settled .

Now , we're going to actually get a full delivery tour .

They're going to walk us through all the features and just make sure it's personalized to us before we actually leave the dealership .

So it's like a big jump in terms of like all the tech and then all the other stuff that we get .

It's pretty cool and it's good that you're kind of familiar with the tech and all that .

Yeah , door handles are brand new .

Actually , I'll cut myself off .

You have the smart key access .

So doors are locked the keys in your pocket , you just place your hand on the door and it unlocks and then to lock it , you can tap this in here .

Um , and like I was saying , the door handles are brand new .

So if you feel here there's a button that you can pop , right ?

Pull it open .

Gotch you and it's the same thing to get out .

You have this push button .

So the idea is you just push and push the door open .

Um , what is very important though ?

Because the doors are all electric .

Say the battery dies , manual exit or emergency exit is if I pull this twice , ok , that will manually get you out of the car .

It's very important .

Um The reason they have these doors electric is for the safe exit assist .

So say there's a cyclist coming alongside you .

Um you don't see him but the car scans him , right ?

It's gonna just not let you get out of the car until he drives past you .

Ok , that's good .

There's been a few times where it scared me like cyclists come out of nowhere even though you check , they just come out of nowhere downtown in the city .

That's huge .

It is awesome .

Uh And of course you have a manual entrance , right ?

You would just get a credit card or something and pop this piece off and then Oh yeah , just like our today .

Yeah , yeah .

Very similar .

Got all four doors have this hidden door handle which is , oh , I didn't even see that .

Wait , so you just , yeah , so that's , that's the emergency , like manual entrance to the car .

Blind spot mirrors , of course .

And then all over the car , the little circles are the parking sensors when you're getting too close and it beeps at you .

Um , and then you have reverse camera and you have the front camera , which is for the 3 60 view monitor , which I'll show you when we're inside .

Um , and then the little camera lanes at the top there is for your lane , trace as you drive .

If you drift out of the lane , uh , the steering wheel is gonna vibrate and then it can slightly nudge you back to your lane .

Got you .

Um , so that can be turned on or off , got you .

And your big one is called the pre collision system , right ?

So it's always scanning and if it thinks you're gonna get in a collision , it's gonna start beeping and telling you to break .

Um , and then if you can't hit the brakes in time , it slightly pushes the brakes for you .

Got you .

The idea is like to assist you with breaking .

Or at least give you a little jolt like , hey , need to start breaking .

Yeah , the car slams on the brakes and like parking situations .

So even if you were like reversing into your garage and wanted to hit your wall , it wouldn't let you wouldn't .

You know what , when I was looking at this car zero W 16 , 1st time I ever seen a vehicle requires such a thin oil .

But I guess for fuel economy , et cetera , that's why they need it and all the hybrid stuff working out over there .

Very cool .

Honestly , I'm really like the hybrid fuel economy .

What it's rated for is awesome .

Like , you know , I'll be honest at first we had a reservation for the Cadillac lyric and I thought ok , let's go full E V all this stuff .

But then there's just so much delays with all this stuff .

The hybrid is like the best of both worlds , in my opinion .

You don't have to require a plug in really great fuel economy .

Yeah , maybe he doesn't have as much horsepower .

The , but it has the power in the lower end of the R PM band .

So that's all you need to be honest .

I think you'll be impressed with the power .

That's the ventilated seat up or cooled seat .

And then my side here you have this temperature dial and fan speed .

Are you familiar with hybrid systems at all ?

Like no .

So explain a little bit how it works .

So , you just heard the engine kick in there ?

I'm gonna go here to vehicle energy flow .

So that's the hybrid battery there and it shows the engine just kicked in .

It's flowing some charge up into the battery because it must have been a bit low .

Um , I always think of hybrid systems as like a range extender .

So you have the gas engine and then the hybrid battery , the two are just working together to save you fuel .

Right ?

Um , what I mean by range extender is you have about like , what was the distance to empty ?

It was 840 .

If you , if you just got the gas version , not hybrid , it would probably be around 500 .

Yeah .

So that's just a range extender , right .

Yeah .

Wow .

Um , and then I'll go through these buttons real quick .

So the car of course is all wheel drive , but this is like , uh , in all terrain mode , you see the tree in the rocks just if you're in a rougher environment , traction off .

So I wouldn't really push that un unless you guys are trying to have .

So it's always on until I turn it off and it takes up your entire display .

Hold is a break , hold .

So you're at a red light and your leg is tired , you can hit , hold and then take your foot off the brake while the car is in drive .

Just to , just to rest the leg .

It's , uh , it's , yeah , one of those things you test in a parking lot first .

Yeah .

We'll do that test in the parking lot first .

This p here is like your , um , your parking brake or your hand brake , but it's automatic .

So as soon as you put it in park it turns on , take it out , it will turn off , got you .

And then E V mode is super nice .

That's , yeah .

So I pushed it and it came up down there on the left side , that E V mode there .

So E V is , uh , using obviously electric vehicle using all battery and no gas , but it turns off when you drive over 40 kilometers an hour .

So it's meant , or like if to accelerate too aggressively got you .

So it's meant for like traffic or parking lots .

It is really good .

Like , I imagine you're in 30 kilometers of traffic using no gas .

It's nice .

Um yeah , this thing here is super cool .

So if I pull it towards us it changes from the mirror to the digital mirror .

So the idea is you have your trunk full of stuff and you can't see out the back , you just flip it to the digital and you can see .

Um but I've met a few people who actually prefer the digital mirror .

Yeah , that's the thing you do see a much wider range of what you see and it is clear , but just , I guess I'm just so used to the mirror .

And then this view button is very nice .

So that gives you the 3 60 degree view of the car and it does take a few seconds , but then it's going to pan out to the bird's eye .

So I'm actually gonna put the car in drive if you just keep your foot on the brake .

And then if I hit auto here now whenever you drive under 12 kilometers an hour , right ?
