Yeah , what's up guys ?
Welcome back to the channel and welcome to the iconic 9 11 and right off the bat , we must address the title of this video , which is the fact that I wouldn't be driving a new 9 11 if it wasn't for the Porsche , Cayenne and Porsche .
Let me explain the Cayenne and Macca helped Porsche set new record sales and profits .
But the fact that they actually saved the company is not 100% accurate .
The car that actually did that is the boxer .
That's the 9 11 secret .
Nobody is really talking about .
You see back in the nineties , Porsche was quite literally on the brink of disaster .
Sales were prom and they needed something that will help them avoid the inevitable .
And since people were really into smaller sports cars at the time , Porsche decided it needed its own and that's how the Boxer was born , hard core fans didn't really like it at first .
But even so it quickly became a very popular road star and it allowed Porsche to dig itself out of the hole .
So it's pretty safe to say that without the boxer , I wouldn't be able to drive a new 9 11 .
Now , can you imagine a world without the 9 11 , no more of that 9000 R PM .
Red line G T three gone would be the super car that is the G T two and we would no longer get the fantastic game on G T four .
This is my all time favorite car .
And if I had all the money in the world available right now , the first car I'd go and buy would be a manual 9912 G T three .
The car I'm driving today is the Carrera s rear wheel drive version .
The most powerful 992 9 11 you can buy at the moment .
It's painted in this gorgeous , gentle and bloom tele color .
It rides on these beautiful Carrera classic wheels , 21 inch at the back , twenties at the front .
And among other , it features the new eight speed P D K transmission and the sport chrono pack that adds a few sportier details and makes the car slightly faster over the years .
This car has grown quite a lot .
So I guess it's kind of safe to say that this isn't really a light and nimble sports car .
You can definitely feel its size and its weight .
But thanks to that 450 horsepower engine at the back , this car is freaking fast .
It's got a three liter twin turbo flat six engine at the back .
It makes 450 horsepower , like I said , 530 Newton meters of torque and it can take this 1.5 ton 9 , 11 to 100 kilometers per hour from standstill in 3.5 seconds with the sport 3.5 seconds in a carrera s that's very close to what the Ferrari 458 Italia used to do back in the day , Supercar territory .
Now , based on the figures of this car .
Can you imagine what the new G T three or G T three R s can do ?
I have to say that .
I'm a bit disappointed with how the exhaust of this car sounds like it's pretty bland , to be honest with you , it makes pretty much the same noises as the boxer tea .
I drove a while ago , which is pretty funny actually .
But on the inside you get a lot more of the engine noise and just listen to how this car sounds like when you floor it , the 9929 11 has a new eight speed automatic P D K transmission .
And I simply don't have the right words to express you guys just how fast it shifts .
Watch this .
So look at this .
I'm cruising in eighth gear at around 1000 R PM and I'm just gonna give it a light tap on the just so you guys see how quick this gear box kicks down .
So 321 , it's in third year in under a second .
It's insane how fast it shifts and it's all very smooth .
You can't feel anything when it's doing those down shifts .
It's insane .
But if you put it in sport or sport plus mode and change gears yourself , you get a quick kick in the back of your head just to let you know that , hey , this is not just a comfortable cruiser .
I am a proper sports car .
One of my favorite things about all Porsches I've driven so far is the steering and the new 9 11 doesn't disappoint either .
It's perfectly weighted , sharp and precise and because of the smaller diameter and less thick steering wheel , you'll be able to grip it better .
You won't need too much steering lock to turn the car and that allows you to be more precise when driving the 9 11 as it should be driven .
The interior is absolutely gorgeous .
Just look at this .
It's pretty much what you would expect from a Porsche .
It's got very good quality materials , very good ergonomics and well , it's a really pleasant place to be in these seats .
They are the 18 ways adjustable sport seats and , well , I just love everything about this cabin .
But what I wanna show you is the new stuff that Porsche introduced , for example , for people who said that this car isn't really practical .
Well , look at this Porsche just fitted a miniature shaving machine right over here on the center console .
Look at that pretty practical .
Right .
Not a lot of cars have this , but joking aside , let me walk you through this part over here , which I think is the most interesting .
Now , obviously they've kept pretty much the original layout of the dials , but out of all five dials that you see in front only the rev counter is an analog dial .
The rest of them are digital , the two screens that you have on the left , one showing the temperature and the clock and the other one is the speedometer on the right .
However , these two dials , they are actually one screen and if you scroll through the available information you can see on them , there's a miniature map right behind the steering wheel .
Isn't that cool ?
And another thing I want to quickly show you on the new 9 11 is these three new buttons over here .
There's one on the steering wheel and two right there below the infotainment screen .
These are basically shortcuts to various functions that the car has , which you can configure yourself .
And what I've done is because the 9 11 doesn't have the exhaust button anymore .
I've programmed that this button on the steering wheel will activate the sports exhaust for me .
And then the other two butters , the first one I set it to show me the home screen of the infotainment system and the second one turns in on and off to match that lovely interior you need a comfortable and refined car and that's when the suspension of the 992 comes into play .
It's excellent and nothing upsets it , potholes , cracks in the asphalt , uneven surfaces .
It handles them beautifully .
Even in sport plus mode .
I'm always amazed by how Porsche's engineers manage to set up these cars .
They right this firm don't get me wrong , but it's very supple the way this car handles , corners is something else .
It's flat through the bed , it's got tons of grip and very little understeer .
And the balance is so good that you can only tell this car has a rear mounted engine when you take it to the very limit .
And I just love the perseverance , of course , as engineers , I mean , in today's world , most manufacturers gave up on this rear engine layout , but Porsche stuck with it , perfected it and made it a signature of one of the most iconic sports cars in the world .
There's not a lot of bad things you can say about this car .
I personally don't really like the front because if you want to open it , you either have to open the door and press a button or you have to have the car's key with you all the time .
And then you have that storage right behind the back seats , which is quite good in a car that doesn't really have a lot of luggage space , but you can't really access it without folding the front seats and going through the car .
I wish the car would have a hatchback there so you can access it easily .
Let me see what else ?
Not much .
Actually , it's pretty freaking perfect in my eyes and it really has to be considering the amount of money you have to pay for one .
