NIKE GOALKEEPER GLOVES WITH ACC AND NO STRAPS! - WHAT ARE THEY LIKE

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

The very first thing that popped in my head when I saw these new Nike goalkeeper gloves were the purple gloves that Dexter wore on Dexter's laboratory , which was on Cartoon Network .

Here's a picture of Dexter , here are the gloves .

What's going on guys ?

Josh , from soccer reviews for you dot com bringing you kind of not really a review , an overview slash first impressions of the brand new Nike vapor touch goalkeeper gloves , the goalkeeper gloves that feature AC C have no apps and in my honest opinion , look a little bit strange .

If you guys do end up enjoying the video , don't forget to support it with a like and if you're new here watching for the first time and enjoying what you see , don't forget to hit that subscribe button along with the little bell notification for daily videos on all the latest and greatest soccer gear .

Look at that thumbs up .

Could you do that in regular goalkeeper gloves ?

Probably .

Now let me be clear in saying that this is not a review of these new Nike goalkeeper gloves .

I only brought these in because when they were first unveiled so many of you guys messaged me and seem to be really interested in hearing my opinions or at least a review on this particular product being that I am not an active goalkeeper and haven't been since I was like 12 years old , which is now 13 years ago .

I don't have any active experience with any of the current goalkeeper gloves that are out there , high end or low end .

I honestly haven't even had goalkeeper gloves on my hands for probably like three or four years now .

So the reason why I brought these in is because you guys wanted to see the video .

I'm going to share my opinions on them being that this is supposedly the next revolution of goalkeeper gloves from Nike and I'll probably twirl my hands around a bunch like this .

So if that's something that interests you , this is the video for you .

Anyways , if you are interested in some of these gloves for yourself , if you do happen to be a goalkeeper watching , you can click a little pop up in the corner of the screen or the first link down below that will take you to the review page on my website where you'll find buy now , links with exclusive S R four U coupon codes .

You'll be able to pick these up below their normal $150 price .

I got to stop holding my hands like this .

Here's the box that they come in .

You can see that it has a picture of the gloves here on the front , the name and it does say now with AC C technology , which I thought was pretty funny , they're really stressing that that is a feature on this particular glove on the back .

You can see all the different text specs which in all honesty are extremely vague in terms of what they actually describe and then they even review the gloves for you here on the back .

So these apparently are a five out of five in regards to grip a four out of five in regards to impact defense , which I assume refers to the cushioning , maybe I'm not really sure .

And then they are a two out of five in regards to durability .

Anyways , that's it for this review .

Thank you so much for watching Nike did my job for me .

We'll see you in the next one .

So here's a look at the gloves themselves and I'd be curious to hear everyone's opinion specifically the goalkeepers on the way that these look because to me personally , and I'm not a goalkeeper , so I'm not sure my opinion is super valid , but I just think that they're kind of strange looking , especially when you're wearing them .

You can , the back hand of the left hand has a big Nike swoosh , the right hand has a big Mercurial M just like what you'll find on the current generation of Mercurial .

They're pretty much all black in color aside from the little bit of a design that you'll find here on the two middle fingers that is there as a grip texturing for punching the ball .

But in all honesty , it's not actually very grippy to the touch or on the ball based on what I could tell all of the piping .

Basically , the connection point between the back hand and the palms themselves is all yellow .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So that's extremely bright even though they're mostly black gloves and then the palms are all black as well , which I think looks quite cool , not necessarily an uncommon thing these days , you'll find a Nike ssh right there as well as a very large AC C branding across basically the bottom of your wrist where there is still palm because these don't have any straps .

And that's partially what makes these so revolutionary according to Nike is that when they actually designed these , they wanted to revolutionize goalkeeper gloves .

So they stayed away from kind of conventional glove elements like straps , extra bulk , extra padding , different elements in general .

They wanted this to feel as natural as possible almost as if you weren't wearing any gloves at all .

And they do kind of feel like that to a certain extent .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And what they said as well in their press release is that when designing these , they use key learnings and technologies from other gloves within the Nike brand , outside of soccer , American football gloves , baseball gloves , golf gloves and gloves , whatever , surfing gloves , are , if these were all white , would they not look like the gloves Mickey Mouse wears ?

So according to Nike , these are 47% thinner than traditional goalkeeper gloves and 33% lighter .

These gloves being a size nine , I threw them on the scale just to see how light they actually are .

One glove weighs in at 2.7 ounces .

They feel very light in hand as well as when they're on your hands .

But how much lighter and how much thinner are they in comparison to other modern goalkeeper gloves that I couldn't really tell you , they feel light , they feel thin .

That's about as solid of an opinion that I can give here .

Let's talk about how these fit because obviously they don't have any straps .

And that to me was something that I didn't necessarily view as a really good thing .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Again , I'm not an active goalkeeper , but I remember when I was 12 years old and I was playing goalkeeper every single time the strap was kind of my favorite part of the glove .

I love putting the gloves on and then just strapping them up , varying the tightness , adjusting them when I was bored .

That's something that almost got me psyched up to make a same if that makes any sense at all .

So the fact that these didn't have straps , I thought made them look a little bit strange and I was kind of concerned about them falling or slipping off , but honestly , they don't really feel like they're going to slip off , they feel very secure .

So I'm going to put these on for you .

This is the left hand , I just like to hold it right here and then just kind of pull them on .

It's honestly pretty easy to put on .

This backhand material is relatively stretchy .

Being that it does seem to be somewhat of a foam mesh base and then you have a mesh layer on , on top of that , it's all ventilated as well .

So it's actually pretty cool when they're on your hands as far as air flow is concerned .

And then the palms themselves are relatively thin in comparison to what I remember from most high end goalkeeper gloves that I was wearing 13 years ago .

So it's not necessarily a great comparison , but everything feels very , very comfortable and surprisingly natural .

They fit quite nice .

You can tell that there's just not a lot of extra dead space in between my fingers and in the palm area , they fit very close to your hand .

Now , of course , there's no strap .

So how hard is it to put on the second glove ?

Well , actually not that hard at all .

They slide on pretty easily and then once they're on again , they don't really feel like they're sliding off .

You can see that it kind of bunches up right here , kind of at the start of your wrist , I guess is the best way to describe it .

But for the most part , they feel really nice , they feel secure and it's not overly tight around your forearm .

Now , let's keep in mind that I would say that I probably have bigger arms and a lot of soccer players or goalkeepers just because I go to the gym too much .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But for the most part , I don't really see too many people having issues , I guess if you had really skinny wrists , there's a potential of this not fitting you snug enough because even with my forearms , honestly , they don't feel overly tight by any means , but I guess it's something that you're going to have to try on to get a better idea of whether or not this is going to work for you .

Is this the best way of doing things ?

I'm not really sure .

I don't think that the gloves would have been any worse or less natural feeling had they had a but Nike is obviously doing the strapless thing almost like the lace thing in soccer cleats that's really caught on .

So I think Nike is hoping that this tech will catch on as well as far as the palms are concerned .

Like I mentioned , it does have a thinner overall feel to most high end goalkeeper gloves that I've personally tried .

But of course , the addition of AC C all conditions control technology is the thing that Nike is making a really big deal about it's their wet control element that we saw introduced several years ago on their soccer cleats .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And it's been something that's very , very popular amongst the average consumer who really thinks that AC C is going to offer some huge performance benefits in regards to grip on the ball and wet weather playing conditions .

Obviously , for a goalkeeper glove , you want to have as much grip on the ball as possible , which obviously is going to go down or at least suffer in wet weather .

So does AC C actually offer better grip in wet playing conditions ?

I've not tested these in the wet .

I haven't tested these in the dry .

I can tell you holding this ball right now dry , very clean conditions that these don't feel super , super grippy to me how they'll perform in wet weather .

I'm not really sure , but here's the thing about AC C on gloves , on balls , on soccer cleats .

It doesn't really matter .

We don't know what AC C truly is .

Nike is just telling us that it does what it does kind of in some mysterious way .

We don't really know if it's a coating .

We don't really know if it's something that's permeated throughout the entire material .

If it is just a surface coating , then the palms wear , which is very likely to happen .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Given how soft this latex is .

Does that mean the AC C grip or benefit is going to go away as well ?

Really , really difficult to say .

Again , I think it's going to take time for people to actually test these out and see how it actually works .

But do I think the AC C aspect of this glove is truly going to be that revolutionary for goalkeepers in wet weather playing conditions , in my honest opinion ?

Just knowing what I know and knowing what I've experienced in regards to soccer cleats with AC C technology , I wouldn't expect any kind of huge difference with these AC C palms on these Nike goalkeeper gloves .

I keep doing this a lot .

Look at these , these look so dumb .

Anyways , guys , those are my general first impressions of the Nike vapor touch gloves .

They're interesting .

They feel pretty good .

Is it something truly revolutionary that feels that drastically different from other goalkeeper gloves that I've had on my hands , in my opinion ?

No , but it's definitely something different .

And if you're into unique products from Nike , then definitely this is something that you might want to check out .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But for me , if I was a goalkeeper just simply based on the way that they look , I probably wouldn't be into these anyways guys .

That is it for this video .
