Welcome to today's video .
We're starting off in the G T three .
It's kind of been like my weekly thing .
I've been taking this thing on Fridays , especially when the weather's nice .
It does kind of stink like this car is probably one of my favorite cars in the world to drive .
But my commute is literally just stop lights .
I know I've talked about this in videos before , but it kills me to just see this thing sitting in the garage , but it also kills me to just drive from stop light to stoplight .
I wish I had some curvy roads around here or I wish I had like a regular track thing going .
But nonetheless , one thing that I kind of want to talk about in the beginning of this video was the idea of selling this car because it's something that I go back and forth about and kind of struggle with .
And I'm kind of curious what you guys think .
So my logic is telling me , you know , the typical GT three owner move is to sell your current generation G D three R s considering if you got an MS R P you can usually get close to what you paid for it after driving around two or three years and putting on 10,000 miles , then you move into the next one , the next one , the next one , it's never really a losing game .
You spend maybe 5 to $20,000 to keep moving into the newest generation G three R .
Initially , that was my plan .
I got a phenomenal price on this car to where I could do that .
Especially my brand is telling me to do it now because of the fact that the new car isn't out yet , the market for these is still really high and I could get some good money for it .
However , I'm kind of torn because I feel like it's going to be one of those things where if I get rid of this car , I'm going to hunt for the rest of my life to find it back just like the 335 was a huge milestone goal that was really special to me in my automotive journey .
I feel like this car is also just as big and it's hard for me to decide internally if it's worth just keeping this car and potentially not getting the newest generation G three R s or getting rid of it moving on and just something that I need to not be so nostalgic with everything that I own .
And I'm just kind of curious more or less , you know , I don't want you guys to make the decision for me , but I thought it would be a cool little point to have a discussion about because it is kind of , you know , it's a game in the Porsche world and who knows too , maybe I own this car for 10 years and it does have the same value that it has now .
But I don't know , in my mind , I feel like that ship has sailed with the older air cooled stuff .
And you know , the last of the manual RSS , I don't know that this car is special enough to hold its value for 10 years .
It's a super exciting day today .
I just got to the shop and we're going to be setting up the whole entire no lift shift stuff .
We're going to be putting smaller 17 inch wheels of the big fat drag tire and the mustang .

So I'm up in the car figuring out the shift food situation .
Just kind of , I'm changing length a little bit to get a shift in a position .
That's a little bit more straight up and down .
While I'm doing that , Jon and Marco are tag teaming the rear knuckle swap so we can put the bigger side wall tires on , so they'll kind of walk you through doing that .
I'm just trimming some interior stuff .
Nothing really major up here and then it should be a car again .
I'm really bummed to get rid of the Brembo .
I'm like holding on to dear life to the ones in the front even though the car drives like crap having such a wide track with and like is gonna look stupid with nineteens in the front .
It sucks to ditch factory Brembo for the worse , more inferior brakes .
Um , but I think the car will just drive a lot better and more confidence inspiring if we can actually put the traction out because these , you can only fit like a 19 or like a custom made 18 on the rear .
So it's actually a very common thing for the drag guys to go down to a 17 with the mustang GP brakes .
So I'm over here playing with hot glue .
I didn't like I had to cut the shift poop .
But one of the issues is whenever you cut them and they , they tend to start splitting on the scene .
So I took it and I kind of folded it over and then I layered a little round of hot glue in there .
So hopefully it'll stay looking nice .
So this will fit perfectly with the sequential .
I can have the cable going up for the , for the reverse lockout and then it should look O E M , ah , it's a boy .

It looks like I'm lifting with my back , but it's actually not , I , like , put my elbow up against my knee and then I use my legs to lift it .

We're actually testing a new transmission in the car and I just wasn't paying attention , like , just literally put a sequential transmission in it .
So we were just testing some settings with no clutch and I wasn't paying attention to it .
My apologies .
Well , that might be the first time I'm going to take it on video .
We were doing 70 and a 45 and I'll be honest with you guys , I'd be straight up with you if I thought that I was speeding or if I actually felt like I was doing that speed , I looked at my speedo when the cop came up behind us and it said 60 miles an hour .
So either he inflated the number or potentially maybe the overall diameter of the wheels with the drag tires are a little bit taller , but to add 10 miles an hour is kind of a lot .
It's unfortunate , but it happens .
I just got lost in the sauce , man .

So it is now day two , we're actually going to head over to the track and do a little bit of testing there .
Um Just because there's been a lot of traffic around lately and we want to play it safe , but I put the whole interior together .

It looks with all the trim and everything in there .

So that wasn't a lot of throttle just , you know .

So we need to go back because I pulled the reverse cable too hard .
So I pulled the reverse cable and now I can't go into neutral or reverse and the shift knob keeps getting loose but the growing pains .

It's a very , like visceral experience .
Now , I'm like , what squats you would think not having to use the clutch is like , not a lot of work to drive it , but you got to pull this thing .
Like you mean it , I think the one finger shifting is just supposed to be this , like , not for wide open , wide open , the transmissions loaded up pretty , uh , pretty hard .
That's probably what he meant .
I feel like that is a cool selling point though that you can literally shift it with one finger and you're not one .

I know we see how much boost that was .
It can take more boots in a second .

However , the trans needs to get pulled .
Why I think there is an issue with either now what we are learning a possible overextension of the internal slave or possibly maybe some sort of installation , er , with the clutch because I now no longer have a clutch .
I pulled in here went to clutching in first gear and stall the car .
So , unfortunately , we're ending this video on a bad note .
Everything works phenomenally .
Um And maybe it's just an issue where like it's bleeding fluid or the fluid is getting hot or there's air in the line , but based on some of the noises and stuff , I'm worried there might be potential damage to the clutch and I don't want to risk it .
So I rather pull it apart while it's still so , but definitely something that we did dumb , but we'll figure it out and she'll be back better than ever .

It was a blast trying to figure out the trans .
