Why your expensive football is always flat

Over paying for anything sucks .

Especially socks .

So why pay $45 for a single pair of grip socks when you can spend less than half pure grip socks pro feature , our best materials for optimal fit moisture wicking and performance at a fair price .

Just 16 , 99 a pair at pure grip socks dot com .

So you saved up and decided to splurge on an official match ball .

You fill it up with air , you go to use it and it's incredible .

But then a couple days later when you go to use it again , you've noticed that it's gone flat .

Why ?

Well , simply put official match balls are a different breed when compared to the cheaper alternatives .

Typically , when you buy an inexpensive football , let's say between 15 and $40 you can put air in that ball and it's going to make , maintain its air pressure likely for 23 , sometimes even four weeks , depending on the situation and depending on the ball that's deemed to be normal and that's what most people tend to experience .

So when they go and buy a match ball for the first time , fill it up with air and then even sometimes the next day notice that it's lost a significant amount of air pressure .

The assumption is that their ball has a leak when that's not actually the case and it's not the case , it's the bladder .

I'm sure most of you watching this video have broken a football before and you know that on the inside you have , what kind of looks like a balloon that's attached directly to the valve , that's what's holding all of the air .

And then the part that you see on the outside of the ball is basically the shell or the casing that can be made up of different shape panels and obviously all kinds of different materials .

The bladder is really what differs significantly from a low end ball to a high end ball where when you get into a match ball , the material that the bladder is made out of tends to be softer and simply does not retain its air pressure for extended periods of time .

Why I'm not entirely sure ?

But the softer bladder is what allows a match ball to feel and perform in such a way that only a match ball can provide .

It's one of the compromises you make for a better feel , a lack of air pressure retention .

So as A P S A for anybody that's buying a match ball , the first time , I would strongly recommend if you're going to carry it around in your bag to also have a pump because more than likely every single time you use it , you're going to want to fill it or at least top it off with some air .

If it's losing a significant amount of air to the point where the ball is going completely flat .

At that point , you might want to check for leaks .

And the best way to do that is to cover the ball with water , just get it wet and then likely if there is a leak , you're going to find some bubbling in the exact spot at which point you legitimately have a broken ball that you really can't do much about .

So in case you didn't know your match ball is not broken , it just needs more air more frequently .

It's totally normal and that's pretty much it for this one .
