Uh I want to talk about Narcos because uh congrats on the Golden Globe nomination , of course you're gonna get is so great .

You're so great .

I , I , I , I , I wasn't familiar with you as an actor , uh which I should have been , but I , I , I don't , uh we don't get the Brazilian channels in the United States in my household .

But uh I , I , I , I watched this thing and as soon as I saw I go , who is this guy ?

Unbelievable .

And did you , you must always speak Spanish , you know .

No , no , it was the craziest thing because in the first , the first idea was to do it in English and I thought that I could speak English with an accent .

I thought that that would be that I could do that .

How did you get this part ?

Yeah , I mean , how did they cast you ?

I think this is the most , I mean , this is , this is a big case of miscasting .

Yeah , it is .

Yeah , it's one of the big , biggest miscasting .

You did not know how to speak Spanish .

I was super skinny .

I mean , I , I was £40 lighter and I didn't speak a word of Spanish .

So when they decided to do it I was like , is these guys are crazy ?

I mean , I mean , you're playing actually a human being .

It Pablo Escobar ?

Yeah , you have to look like that guy .

I mean , you can't have a new character .

Like , hi , I'm Pablo Escobar .

And , uh , he was like , how's it going ?

And you got any cocaine or what's going on ?

Yeah .

It's like , no , he's a real person .

So , what I did was I had to , I , I flew myself , even before Net Netflix didn't even know I was being considered to play the , the part , but I flew myself to Medellin to Colombia in order to , you know , to learn Spanish and I booked myself in a university in a Spanish course for four years .

So , I was in a classroom with Japanese teenagers and how crazy is that ?

And how much weight did you gain ?

£40 ?

Wow .

Yeah .

So , it's , it's like being at school , you know , learning things and eating delicious Bob no more .
