DIY Office Chair Mat For Under $25!!!

What's up everybody K B here today ?

I'm gonna be teaching you how to make one of these for less than 25 bucks and in less than 30 minutes coming up right now , gonna be picking out a piece of wood today .

I recommend a thin piece of laminate flooring .

The laminate is going to be really strong and flexible .

Great thing about Home Depot is that they will cut the wood for you .

This gives you a really nice clean edge .

Now , you've got a ton of choices .

As far as laminate flooring goes , you can pick anything that looks like tile , bamboo , granite , uh wood planks , there are a ton of different options out there for you .

I'm going to be picking out a piece of red oak parquet .

Um partly because it's just tile and it's just tile shape and it should be really easy to measure and use .

So you're gonna want to round off the edges on this piece of wood that you have .

Uh It's a pretty rough cut .

They give you at Home Depot , so take a file or some sandpaper and just kind of give it a little bit of a rounding and this is gonna prevent you from getting splinters or anything in the future .

So you're under a crucial point here where you're gonna put down your first tile .

So you're just gonna peel off the back edge here and then center it up on one of the corners .

So just make sure this is just right .

It doesn't have to be perfect , but just right .

And before you press down , just kind of wiggle it around a little bit and then once you press down , it's good to go .

Now you got that in place , you can start with all the rest of the pieces again .

Just make sure it's um just where you want to be before you really press down on it .

Crucial piece of this job is gonna be a really sharp edge on like a box cutter .

You can see why when you've got a sharp edge , no effort at all .

And it just cuts through it like butter .

So this is just a way safer way to cut , but it also gives you a way better result .

So you're gonna want to cut away all the extra pieces um , that are overhanging because it's got a really strong laminate .

So it's gonna pick up all like that dog fur , cat fur and dust and just look horrible pretty soon if you don't cut that off .

And once you have that cut off , you've got a really nice spot to set down .

Maybe a portable air conditioner .

So it's not dripping straight on your carpet or a pad for your desk or office chair .

And I think it looks a lot better than the ones that you're gonna get at like office max for , you know , 50 bucks that are clear plastic .
