How to Test and Reset the Ice Maker on a Samsung Fridge Freezer

Hi , I'm Matt from E Spares .

In this video , I'll show you how to test and reset the ice maker in a Samsung American style fridge freezer .

If the ice maker in your Samsung American style fridge freezer is no longer producing ice as it should , it may need to be tested and reset .

The ice maker comes with a test button to check if it's working .

However , resetting your ice maker isn't something you typically need to do very often and should only be performed if there is a problem .

So before you do this , there are a few other checks you can perform .

First .

Most models have a feature to disable the ice maker .

Make sure this is not turned on .

The next thing to check is the dispenser , water pressure to do this , dispense water into a measuring cup for 10 seconds .

You should be able to get to 100 and 70 mL during that time .

If not , your water pressure is too low , this could be caused by a water filter issue .

If neither of these fixes worked , then it's time to test and reset the ice maker , which I'll do in just a second but just to say that if you test and reset the ice maker and it's still not working correctly , it may be time to replace it all together and you can find out how to do that by following the link to our , how to video at the end of this video .

To get to the ice maker first , you'll need to remove the ice bucket to do this .

Simply pull the two locking pads on either side of the bucket and slide it out , gently lifting it up and pulling it out slowly with both hands .

Next , you'll need to remove the ice maker cover , do this by squeezing the sides of the cover out slightly , then pull the cover up and away .

Once you've removed the ice bucket and cover , you should be able to see the test button on this model .

It's located on the left hand side to activate .

Simply press and hold when you press the test button , you should hear a single chime .

If you hear multiple chimes , that could indicate that there is something else wrong with your ice maker .

If you hear no chime , but you do see movement in the ice maker .

That means that the ice maker has been reset .

If you hear no chime and you see no movement in the ice maker , then you need to turn the fridge freezer off for two minutes at the wall before powering on and trying the test again .

Now your ice maker has been reset , you can reattach the cover and then your ice bucket .

We hope this has fixed the issue with your ice maker in your Samsung American style fridge freezer and your ice maker is working as it should be providing you with good quality ice .
