I know everyone has been talking about the show recently and if you haven't seen it , it is a trip Tony and I binged that sucker until like four am unintentionally the night we started watching it and we could not stop .
So I decided to draw that picture that's been floating around of Joe Exotic with a tiger .
But I didn't want to spend forever on a gorgeous sparkly portrait .
I decided in the end that I was going to try and draw him kind of like a chippy .
But then I as I was going , my brain just kept going a whoa , what's a big tiger ?
So what was first Joe Exotic became Joe a Woe Exotic .
It was a good laugh and a great excuse to draw a tiger check number nine .
Pick a snack or food you've had recently and personify it .
I don't know about you guys , but it has been like an eternal snack time when you are indoors .
But there is a huge chunk of us that have accepted the comfy sweatpants , life or pajama life and are living the dream .
So for the last prompt , I wanted to draw the kind of clothes that I wear the most .
During this indoor living time , I usually sport a messy bun Rapunzel pajamas and this giant oversized that I bought so I can basically wear it .
I also have been drinking a lot of iced coffee .
So that's why I included it .
We have been brewing a whole pot of this one called Just Wish and then pouring the excess into a pitcher and saving it for delicious iced coffee .
Despite the circumstances of having to wear the comfy clothes , I am rocking that quarantine life with style and grace , I think check and done silly stuff aside , this has been a super scary time for everyone .
So I hope all of you are staying safe , protecting yourselves by staying home and washing your hands .
Thank you all so much for those of you who participated in Discord on Twitter and Instagram to draw yourself in comfy clothes .
It was really nice to see all of your entries .
If you are interested in joining the Discord server , join one of our weekends dreams where I will give out the invite link .
Also , if you want to try these prompts , be sure to tag or at me on any of my social media or use the hashtag inside art so I can see it .
But that's comic maker .
I can't do all this stuff .
I have online classes to do .
Well , that's OK .
Banana man .
This isn't meant to be a challenge where you have to draw all these things .
You can pick your favorites or do one of them or none of them .
It's up to , you don't stress about it either .
They don't have to be fully colored .
They can just be sketches or doodles or whatever you want them to be .
If you are interested though , I typed out the list and posted it on Instagram and Twitter .
If you want to participate as well , I'll leave links for that down below .
Well , I better get back to those online classes so I can take a crack at those prompts later .
Bye Banana , man .
Well , that's it for me this week guys .
Thank you so much to my amazing patrons who make videos like this possible .
And thanks to all of you who like comment and share my videos .
Stay safe and I hope that we can draw together again soon .
Bye guys .
I'm going to sneak drawing idea number five into this little box .
So the idea is to draw any mundane object from as many angles as you can .
I'm drawing this pencil sharpener from four different angles and then to make it look more interesting , give it a cool background .
These swirls are meant to make it look as though the objects are being sucked into the abyss .
You can also draw an explosion in the background .
So it looks like the objects are flying right at you .
Idea .
Number six , construction machinery and old farm equipment can be really fun to draw , especially when they're grimy , rusty and in bad shape in this sketch .
I love seeing the exposed wires , hydraulic components and yeah , the intricate details are what makes it look interesting .
Number seven , if you ever feel frustrated , go ahead and scribble all over the page .
Once you're done hulking out , fill in the spaces using patterns made of lines , dots , zigzags , circles , triangles , waves , whatever you like .
Oh , and you actually don't need to be angry to do this exercise .
It's called a Zen Tale and it's actually extremely fun and relaxing .
And the most important thing is it helps to keep your pencil moving and the creative gears in your head spinning .
So it's a great one to do when you first open your sketchbook .
I know what it's like to sit there for 30 minutes .
Just wondering what to draw and then completely losing my motivation .
So this exercise makes it really easy to start drawing and almost impossible to stop .
I worked on this page until four in the morning and my hand almost fell off .
Hey there everybody .
It's Mark Riley .
I'm back with another how to draw video .
Uh People have been requesting this one for quite some time .
It's how to draw the same character at three different ages uh as a baby , as a teen and as a grown up .
And uh just to give you a little heads up later on in the video , I'm gonna be telling you about a chance that you will have to uh visit a new website .
It's called the Life Reimagined Project .
You will be among the first people in the world to get a look at this thing .
Uh But more on that later , let's go ahead and zoom in here and I'm gonna show you how to draw the face of a baby right now .
I'm gonna be covering a huge amount of stuff in this video and that's why I've given myself a little bit of a head start .
But I think you can see how I got to this .
Uh This is a circle .
Uh You could trace around a cup or something , you know , don't get too hung up on , you know , I can't draw a perfect circle .
Uh go ahead and use something to help you if you need that .
And then I have crossed , I've done two lines here right across the middle of the circle .
You can find classes on illustration , fine art , animation , graphic design and so much more , most classes are under 60 minutes consisting of short lessons and a class project .
I found this class extremely refreshing .
If you're not familiar with my channel , I mostly draw realism .
So the concepts in this class called odd bodies illustrating , expressive stylized people by Tom Froze were incredibly exciting for me .
And I've always wanted to learn how to draw in a more simplified style .
The exercises and ideas that Tom gives us are actually really fun and are exactly what I wanted to incorporate into my sketchbook .
For example , one exercise is to draw a random odd shape and try to creatively fit a person inside of that shape .
He walks through his thought process along the way which was really helpful .
And I also really like his drawing style on skillshare .
Um as guidelines to kind of help me place other facial features , uh a little tip here to get the shape here and the uh the size of the lower part of the face uh right .
Take a look at the distance between the bottom of the circle and just around here , uh up the forehead , that distance uh is pretty much replicated down here , maybe a little less than that .
Uh So there's a little tip for that .
And uh I'm gonna go ahead and start uh getting the placement of the facial features , you know , every baby's face is gonna be different , but it's the placement of the features uh that uh is fairly uniform from one face to the other .
So notice uh these two lines here for where I'm gonna be placing the eyes , uh where they uh fit into the circle , the distance they are from one another , you can see that they are considerably closer to the bottom of the circle than they are to the top .
Uh There's a certain distance there between the sides and um this distance between them , you have to focus on that as well .
Um And so you end up with this sort of larger uh lower lip and uh sort of pushed in smaller upper lip .
And um you know , again , just looking at photographs of babies , uh you that'll help you as in guidance of uh drawing a baby's mouth .
But there can be a second line down here uh just below the lower lip .
Um One important thing here is to get the suggestion of a double chin .
Um we all know about , you know , baby fat and of course , that uh it creates this shape down here , sort of a , the shape of a letter u almost that kind of stuff is very important .
You don't want your uh drawing of a baby to just look like a miniature adult .
You know , you really have to get uh the shape of the head .
Uh right .
And uh I'm gonna go ahead and drop in the eyebrows notice that they are much closer to the eyes than they are to this uh line that we drew at the beginning .
And uh also uh something to keep in mind is that the um eyebrows of a baby are tend to be very light , you know , the , they only thicken up later in life .
And so you don't want to get too carried away with drawing dark lines when you do the eyebrows of a baby .
Um And uh uh a as for doing the irises themselves , uh I'm gonna just uh do a light indication of them for now , like I said , there's gonna be a lot of uh time lapse in this video and that's when I'm gonna get into doing the details .
But in a way , I think it's best for you to um think of this as an overview video and uh uh not think , oh , this is the way to draw a baby all the time .
Oh , no , of course not .
Every baby is gonna , gonna look different .
So um it's probably best that I don't get too hung up on the details anyway , but let's go ahead and do the ears notice that they start , uh , near the top of the eyes , they come down to around where the nose is , uh , as a guideline .
