Welcome to my video on how to solve the pyramids , just like in my other Rubik's cube videos .
I'll show you the easiest method and I'll keep the explanations as clear as possible .
For this method .
We'll do it in four steps .
First , the tips , second , the first side , then the second side , then the third side .
Then after teaching you how to solve the pyramids with the simplest method , I will also show you five different sets of moves .
You can learn to help you solve it faster .
This first step is the easiest step .
Your peer makes us four tips , turn each tip .
So it matches the color of the piece right below it .
So it will make a diamond of that color .
So on this first tip , I'm gonna rotate the blue .
So it matches this blue to make a little blue diamond .
And now that we've done that , if you rotate the pyre minks , these other colors will also be diamonds of their respective color .
Let's do the same with another tip .
So this tip I wanna rotate this yellow .
So it matches this yellow to make a diamond again .
And if we rotate the pyramis you'll see the same thing on the other sides , then we'll find a third tit .
So we're gonna take this tit and once again , we'll find this time , we'll find the yellow , rotate the yellow .
So it matches with the yellow to make a diamond .
It's the same thing for the other two sides .
And then we'll find the last tip .
And this time we'll use blue , we have to rotate this until it matches the blue right below it to make that diamond and you can see it works on all of the sides .
Now , we're going to solve the first side .
You can start with any color .
But in this explanation , I'm gonna start with yellow , look around your pyramis to find the three tips that have yellow on them and then put a finger on it .
So on this tip , you can see that it has yellow right there .
This chip has yellow right there .
Let me put a finger on that .
This tip doesn't have any yellow in it and this tip does have yellow .
So these are three tips that have yellow on them .
So the side that have , we have a finger on all three corners of this is gonna be our yellow side .
Even though there's not a single yellow piece on it yet , we're gonna turn our three yellow diamonds onto this side so that it'll become the yellow side .
So we just need to turn that down this , we need to turn up like that and this one , we need to turn like that .
Now we have all three of our yellow diamonds facing in so we can start working on our yellow side .
Next , we're gonna fill them with three other edge pieces to complete the yellow side .
The easiest way to do this is to put the yellow side on the bottom .
Now we wanna look from above so that we can try to look for other yellow edge pieces in the middle layer right around here .
So right here , we can see one .
So this is yellow and green .
So we what we wanna do with it is we want to take the green and move it .
So it aligns with the green side .
So you'll know it's the green side if it has these two green diamonds in the bottom .
So we want to move that green .
So it's on the same side .
And now we want to do what I like to call the elevator move .
So we wanna have the elevator come up , have this yellow , get onto the elevator and have the elevate elevator come back down .
Now , if we look at the bottom , you can see that this yellow aligns with all the other yellows and this green aligns with all the other greens .
So now we want to look back at the top to try to find another yellow edge piece in the middle layer .
So we have one right here .
This one is yellow and red .
So it's actually already aligned with the reds because you can see the two red diamonds right here .
So what we , what we want to do again is have the elevator come up , have the yellow piece get on the elevator and then have the elevator come back down .
Once again , you can see the yellow lines with the yellows and the red is a line with the reds .
Now , for this last one , I wanna look from the top again to see if there's another yellow piece in the middle layer and there is one right here .
And then what we wanna do with this one is it's actually already aligned with the blues because it's blue and yellow .
So it's already aligned with the two blue diamonds .
So we wanna have the elevator come up , have the yellow bit on the elevator and then have the elevator come back down .
And now if you look at the bottom , you can see where yellow is completed and the colors are the same across all the different sides .
So what happens if you look from the top and there's no yellow edge pieces in the middle layer , but your yellow side isn't solved yet .
Well , this piece right here is in the correct spot because it has the blue and yellow , but it's flipped the wrong direction because the yellow needs to be here and the blue needs to be here .
So in this situation what we wanna do is we want to rotate this side up , pretend that this piece is already on the elevator .
We want to bring the elevator up , get off the elevator and then have the elevator come back down .
So now this piece is on the middle layer where we want it .
So we have the blue , which we want to align with these two blue diamonds and then we wanna have the elevator come up , get on the elevator and then the elevator comes back down .
So now if you look on the bottom , it looks like it's solved , but it's actually not because if you look over here , these two pieces are facing the right way but aren't in the right spots .
So for this , what we need to do is pick one , I'll pick this yellow and green piece and we need to take it out of its spots .
Once again , we're gonna have the elevator come up , have that piece , get off the elevator and then have the elevator come back down .
So now if you look from the top again , it's right here .
So it's yellow and green .
So we wanna align the green but the other two green diamonds then have the elevator come up , get on the elevator and the elevator comes back down .
And by doing that , you'll see we actually knocked this other piece that was in the wrong spot out .
So now it's right where it needs to be with the other two red diamonds .
So once again , have the elevator come up and get on the elevator and then the elevator comes back down .
And now you can see we solved this side and this bottom layer is all correct .
Now , we're gonna do the same types of moves to the second side .
I'm gonna solve the green side next .
Do you choose any other color to solve next ?
But I'm gonna go with green .
So first , we want to make sure that all three green diamonds are facing each other .
So we have one green diamond here and one green diamond here .
But the third green diamond is over here .
So we need to rotate this part over .
So now we have all three green diamonds on the same side .
OK ?
Now let's tell our pyramids that the green side with three green diamonds is on the bottom like that .
So now we wanna look from above again , we want to try to find green edges that are in the middle layer .
So now the middle layer is right along here .
So we have one green edge right here .
This one is green and red and our red is already lined up with our red side because you can see the the two red diamonds .
This , this one has the third one as well .
You don't need that third one though .
So we want to use the elevator moves , we wanna bring the side up .
You wanna have the green get on the elevator and then have that elevator come back down .
Now , we want to look from the top for another green edge piece .
So it's back here .
So this one's blue and green .
So it's already lined up with the blue side because it has the two blue diamonds here .
So we wanna have the elevator come up , get on the elevator and then have the elevator come back down .
It's now our green side is salt .
You might notice that the yellow side got messed up , but that's ok .
That's not what we're worried about right now .
But now our green side is salt , which is our second side .
There's a chance that once you solve the second side , your whole cube will be solved with just one more turn like this , assuming that solving your second side didn't solve the whole cube .
You'll see that your yellow side , the side that we solved first is now a little bit messed up .
But that's ok .
You don't need to worry about fixing that .
Now , we need to pick another side that we haven't solved yet .
So we started with the yellow side then did the green side .
So we have to pick either the blue side or the red side .
I'm gonna pick the blue side .
So just like solving with the other two sides , we want to put the blue side on the bottom .
So now we wanna look from the top for a blue edge piece .
And then on right here , it's red and blue .
We want to align the red with the two other red diamonds and did the elevator move .
So that's like elevator comes up .
Get on the elevator , the elevator goes back down and now the blue is lined with the blue reds line with the reds .
Then we can look from the top for another blue edge piece .
Here's one that's blue and yellow .
It's already aligned with the yellows .
So elevator comes up , get on the elevator , the elevator goes back down .
And now if you do one more turn to the top layer , you'll see that you've sold the pyramids .
Welcome to the intermediate method of solving the remaining sides of the pyramids .
Before you get here , you should have your first side solved like this .
Next , you wanna make sure that your diamonds of each color are all on their correct sides , which helps you recognize each case easier .
Once you have the first site complete , there are five different patterns you might have on the remaining sides .
What I'll show you here is the fastest set of moves for each of those five scenarios to solve the rest of the pyramids .
This situation I like to call it the headlights and the reason why I call it that is because you have a soft side except for these two edge pieces that stand out and these edge pieces will either have to move to the right or to the left .
In this situation , we need to move them to the right because you have the two blue pieces which need to go to the blue side .
So here we want to do the set of moves right side , up , top to the left , right side , down , top to the left , right side , up , top to the left , right side down .
Notice that even though we need to move these edge pieces to the right , every time we move the top , we move it to the left in the opposite direction .
So once again , you wanna move the right side up the top away from where it needs to go right side down , top away , right side , up , top away and then write that back down and that will solve the pmi and with some practice , you'll be able to do it faster .
So it should look more like this .
This is the other headlight situation where we still have the headlights .
But this time we need to move the pieces to the left because we have the two red edge pieces that need to go to the red side which to the left .
So for this one with the right side , up , top to the right , right side , down , top to the right , right side , up , top to the right , right side down .
Notice that similarly to the last headlights , we need to move the top in the direction away from where the edge piece need to go .
So once again , it's right side , up , top away .
So top to the right , right side , down , top away , right side , up , top away and right side down and that'll solve it .
And once you get a little bit more practice with this set of moves , you should be able to make it look a little bit more like this .
The situation is distinct because the only one out of the five where you have two unsolved edges and one solved one .
So we want to hold the solved one in the back and then do this set of moves right side down , left side , down , right side , up , left side , up , top to the left , left side , up , top to the right and left side down .
This 1 may sound complicated , but with a bit more practice , you can make it a bit faster and look a bit more like this .
These last two situations are definitely the hardest to identify .
So we want to look for is one piece that doesn't match either color that it's next to .
So this is blue , which is next to the greens and red , which is next to the blues .
With these other two pieces , you can see that one of the colors matches the side that it's on .
So what we want to do is hold the one that doesn't match anything on the back and then on the side facing you , you want to see which side of the color that doesn't match the others is .
So here , this blue one doesn't match the reds .
So we want to move the right side down first .
So you wanna move the right side down , top , towards the right , left side , out , top , back to the left , left side , down , right side up , even though this one is kind of complicated to recognize once you're able to do it quickly , you can make it look more like this .
This is the reverse of the other complicated situation .
So once again , we want to put our piece that doesn't match either the sides next to it on the back .
But this time , you'll see that the piece that doesn't match the other colors on the same side is on the left .
So we want to move our left side first .
So we want to bring the left side down , top to the left , right side , up , top to the right , right side , down , left side up and that should solve it .
Once you're able to get this one a little bit faster , it's actually my favorite one and you can make it look a little bit like this .
