How to Draw Greg Heffley - Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Hey there today , I'm gonna show you how to draw Greg from a diary of a wimpy kid .

So some might think that the best place to start would be the head because it's round .

But actually the best place to start this drawing is in the nose .

So I'm gonna start with the nose .

It's basically an elongated sea .

So I'm gonna start at one point , go straight out , curl around and come back to the same distance as that top part .

OK ?

And then just above this , I'm gonna draw it sort of in the center of this .

I'm gonna draw the eye , it's one dot And then over to the side here at the same height is the other eye .

OK ?

So now there is the foundation of the head .

Now I'm gonna have to draw a big circle around this , but basically the head is lined up with this eye and just above here and it kind of curls around and it comes back behind this note .

So this nose part is attached , so I'll just kind of go around and try to make that circle meet .

OK .

Now , for the mouth , it's basically the same curve as this bottom part of the face and it comes up and then there's a line just at the end just to finish that off .

OK .

And then there's basically a perfect circle on the side here for his ear , he gets sort of tucked in behind the head .

OK ?

And then for his hair up at the top here , there's a line aimed directly at the center of the head and then there's two curving lines that come out of it .

OK .

So there's the head and for the body , what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna start at the center of the circle and curve to the right and then curve back towards center just like that .

OK ?

So this tall point and this meat perfectly , OK ?

And then just about just over to the right here , I'm gonna start to draw on the back side of the character .

So the arm and it comes out , there's an angled line for the sleeve of the shirt and then go back up and not all the way up to the top , but just about here is drawn in his arm .

So it's basically a curve that follows the sort of the same path as this front of the body .

OK ?

And it's double thick and then we'll go into the thumb here .

So we'll draw a circle or little curve here and we'll draw three curves and then join that back to the wrist .

OK .

So if I imagine this line that comes past behind that arm and I'll go from this finger and continue down just like that .

Ok .

Then from this point , I'm just gonna attach the two points across like , so I'll come up just around the thumb area and I'll draw a line at the same angle .

Now , these are his pants , so they get colored in black .

Let's go ahead and do that .

All right .

Now , let's go and draw the back side of the arm case of the other arm .

And it comes poking out here around the same height as that arm there .

So that's a sleeve .

Now , draw a bit of the arm .

OK ?

And the curve and I'll draw the thumb , same , same size as this thumb here , I'll draw one index finger and then the basically the rest of the hand gets goes behind the body .

So you won't even see it .

So there's that , let's draw the backpack .

So starting just below the head and the curve out almost like an egg shape and then come back down just before the wrist .

OK .

So there's this backpack and this basically gets colored in black as well .

Let's go ahead and do that .

There you go .

All right .

Now , for the legs , it's basically a reverse curve .

So the body comes in this way , this one goes from center out to the right .

OK .

I'll draw the legs double thick .

OK ?

Just like I did with the arms and then we'll go to the front side of the pant and I'll just draw the other leg and make sure that the legs are the same thickness on other side .

Ok .

So from here , the foot is basically pretty simple .

It's from the back of the heel here and go cross back around and come up to meet that point again .

Ok .

So let's try that again .

So , from the back of the heel or back on the foot , I should say it comes up and I'm gonna tuck this behind his foot and it comes straight up to that point and to finish sock two lines with the socks and there we have it , there is Greg from a diary of a wiki kid .
