How to Make a Paper Boat - Origami - Simple Instructions & Easy Folds - Step by Step Instructions

Hi there today , I'm gonna show you how to make a paper boat .

And what we want to do is we've just got a standard , a four piece of paper and obviously the bigger the piece of paper that you've got , the bigger the boat you'll make .

But this is not a bad size boat .

So , uh , we filed that the , uh , so what we've done there is we've climbed the long , the longest length and we've felt of the , a four paper and we've folded that over once folded that in half .

And we'll get this other piece of that other side .

Now , that's become your longest edge there and fold that over like that .

So we folded it now into quarters , open that back up .

And so we've got the , the two ends there at the front and we get one of these corners and we'll fold that over .

So , uh , it lines up there , that edge lines up with the seam that you've already folded in that piece of paper , turn it round and take that other edge and fold it along that edge and see if it end up with a shape like that .

And you've got your two little sheets at the front .

So with that top sheet , we'll fold that over .

So it's folding along the edge of those two triangles , turn it over and we'll fold that back the same spot .

Yep .

And if you want to stop there , then that would become like a , a paper hat , but we're not gonna stop there .

We're gonna keep going on to make a boat .

So we'll just push those two ends in like that .

So the end sort of touch .

So one goes under and one goes over and we'll fold it there .

So we've become a , well , it's either a square or it's probably a diamond .

Now , what we wanna do is these two loose ends , we'll fold one back like that .

So it's up the top and spin it over and along that center edge again .

Yep .

Fold it back up to the top and we're left with that sort of a triangular shape with 1 to 3 points .

Now , this is the tricky bit .

What we wanna do is put our fingers there at the front and same fingers there at the back and we sort of pull it out and push the end down like that .

Yep .

And there we are , we've got a boat .

Ok .

Let's see that from another angle .

So there's our triangle shape .

If you look underneath , we've got this sort of a diamond sort of shape , hollow diamond shape under that .

And if we look from there , then we start to pull these two edges out like that .

Yeah .

And then as we pull it out , we've got to sort of push , push that centerpiece down the middle and , yeah , so that , uh , that diamond shape becomes a lot less and the edges go up around to make the sides of the boat .

And there's a tub of water you put in a little boat on top of the tub of water and there it is floating .
