I'm gonna show you how to make pancakes from scratch and what's even better .
I bet you already have all the ingredients you need right now .
So let's get cooking .
So let's jump into the recipe .
So we start by preparing two sets of mixtures .
I like to call them the dry team and the wet team .
The dry team is one and a quarter cups of flour and one tablespoon of baking powder .
Give these quick whisk to aerate the flour and mix the baking powder around .
The wet team is one cup of milk , three tablespoons of sugar , one egg and two tablespoons of vegetable oil .
Go ahead and whisk the wet team around until it's well blended .
Then pour the wet team onto the dry team and slowly whisk together until you can't see the flower anymore .
It's still gonna look lumpy , but that's the key to fluffy pancakes .
Not over mixing , you'll wanna keep mixing , but step away , step away from the bowl .
Now , preheat a nonstick pan over low heat while the pancake batter rests for a couple of minutes .
I like to use a soup ladle to pour the batter into the pan .
Now , the first pancake is always my test one to see if I need to make any adjustments to the batter .
If it doesn't flow easily out of the ladle , I'll add a few more tablespoons of milk to the batter and lightly mix it in to loosen it up .
Or on the other hand , if it's too watery , I'll add in a bit of flour to thicken it up a bit .
These pancakes will take about 90 seconds till they're ready to be flipped .
You'll know when to flip them when the bubbles on the surface leave a mark after they pop and the sides of the pancakes are dry .
Get in there carefully with a thin spatula and gently flip it over and then give it another 60 seconds or so until the color of the underside matches the top that you just flipped .
And let's see this one more time with the amount of batter in this recipe .
You'll end up with about 6 to 8 pancakes , depending on the amount you pour into the pan .
It's all up to you .
So that's it so easy to make .
