How to solve a Rubik’s cube _ The Easiest tutorial _ Part 3

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Hi again guys , I'm Cuba .

And you're watching part three of my Rubik's cube solving tutorial in the previous parts .

You've learned how to solve the first two layers .

I'm sure you can do that .

But if not , you can rewatch previous parts anytime and brush up all the algorithms .

Our next stage is gonna be solving the Yellow Cross and we need to do that keeping everything we've done before .

So we need to make a Yellow Cross .

It is possible that after doing the previous stage , the Yellow Cross will already be solved .

In that case , you're lucky and can just skip this stage .

But you still need to learn how to make it by yourself .

These are some situations you could end up with after finishing the previous stage .

Take a look at your Rubik's cube .

If your yellow edges make a single line like that and it doesn't matter where the corners are , they even could be solved .

But we need to look at our edges only .

So look only at these pieces , these corners don't matter .

So if our edges make a line here first , we keep it horizontal , then put it vertical , horizontal only And here's what we need to do in order to make a cross , take the cube with the yellow side facing up , keep your line horizontal , turn your front face clockwise .

Next thing we do our right algorithm one time Rur prime U prime and now we are putting our front face back to its position .

So we turn it counter clockwise as you can see one simple step and the cross is finished on the yellow side .

Let's see more cases .

The next case is when the edges don't make a line but they make a corner .

That is how they are situated , not in front of one another but close .

I associate it with the clock which shows nine o'clock and this is what the situation is called .

So it's the exact position .

We need to halt our cube , we need to hold it .

So it looks like nine o'clock on our watch to solve this situation .

We need to do almost the same but a little bit different .

So we take the cube with the yellow side facing up and with the corner facing left and forward .

Remember the nine o'clock reference and turn the front face clockwise like we did before .

And now we also do the right algorithm .

But this time we do it two times 1234 , 1234 and return our front face , turn it counterclockwise as you can see the grass is solved again , one more possible scenario .

Is when except this center , there's no yellow edges on the yellow site to solve this case .

We need to do the same algorithm like with the nine o'clock .

Let's go front clockwise , right algorithm two times 12341234 and return the front , turn it counterclockwise .

Now we ended up with the line and we already know how to work with it .

So we just do the appropriate algorithm , turn the cube .

So the line is horizontal , turning your front face clockwise .

Remember if the line would do one algorithm .

So 1234 and return the front face , the cross is finished .

So let's repeat if we have a line , we do F one algorithm for right hand and F prime .

If we have nine o'clock , we do F two algorithms for right hand and F prime .

And if we have the data first , we do F two right algorithms and F prime , then we turn the cube .

So the line is horizontal and do the algorithm for this scenario F one right algorithm and F prime .

If the cross was already done on this side , we just skip this step .

So the next step which requires special focus .

After the yellow cross , we need to work with our edges and put them on their places .

Let's see what the correctly solved edges should look like on this stage .

So we have the yellow cross and the corners around it .

And if you watch closely at their colors .

For example , this one yellow , red , green .

This corner is located between yellow , red and green centers .

It means that the corner is on its place .

Let's check one more yellow green , orange is between yellow , green and orange centers .

This corner is a displace as well .

The next one , orange , blue , yellow is between the orange , blue and yellow centers .

And the last corner , yellow , blue and red is between yellow , blue and red centers .

That's the position our corner should be at .

And it is done by the same algorithm you already know really ?

Well , let's take a look at the unsolved corners with the finished yellow cross .

We need to find a position for the up face .

So at least two corners are on their places .

Let's see , yellow , blue and red is on its place .

The rest three are not their colors do not match .

Let's find another position , turn the up face and look again , one corner which is orange , blue and yellow sits between the orange , blue and yellow centers .

So it's there .

The second corner doesn't match , the third one doesn't match and the fourth one matches the centers .

So this one and the first one are on their places .

Let's look into this scenario when two of our corners are on their places and two other ones aren't first take the cubes of the corners which are on their places are near your left hand .

These two should be swapped .

This is how it's done .

Repeat the right-hand algorithm three times one two , three , then we turn the cube and do the left hand algorithm three times one , two , three , four , 12341234 .

So we did the formula .

Let's see what is different .

Let's put at least one corner on its place .

And if we take a look at all the other ones , all of them are between their centers .

I repeat that this algorithm swaps two corners on the right .

So we start with our right hand , one , two , three , turn the cube , our left hand one two , three , as you can see our corners change their positions .

And if we turn the out face , now two of the corners are on the same side .

And from now on , you already know what to do , we need to swap the corners on the right with the same algorithm .

One two three turn the cube and one two , three with the left hand and now all of the corners are on their places .

So guys , this was the third part of my a Rubik's cube solving tutorial .
