How to solve a 3x3 Picture Cube

Hello .

Today I will be showing you how to solve a three by three , Rubik's cube with pictures instead of just colors .

So , um let's just get straight into it .

The first thing you want to do is find a side you want to start on .

I'm just gonna use this , this middle piece right here and uh we wanna get this cross right here .

Um So to do that , you just find the middle pieces like here's one of them and you move it up to where it's supposed to go , uh goes right there .

Um Just ignore this piece goes right there and that's all you need to do for now .

So just match all the pieces up to where they're supposed to go .

So that one goes right there .

This one goes right there and this one goes right here .

So there , I got the cross , the cross matches up and now you look down here and you gotta move this face and match it up with these pictures .

So that matches up , that matches up , that matches up and that matches up .

Uh The next thing you wanna do is get these pictures to look right So , um because this , it's , it's with the picture , but it's , it's not like a line together .

So what you do is you turn this face , move this up and then you turn this according to how this one is facing .

So like you moved everything out of the way and then you turn this so that you could just ah move this down and it will match up .

So turn it whatever way it needs to go to match up and then you just move this back up .

OK ?

So that is still matching there and it matches on the picture that one is already matching this one .

You need to do the same thing .

So turn this , oh goodness up .

I move this up .

I turned this the way it needs to go .

I think it's like that .

Let's see here it is .

And I move this back up .

OK ?

And the last one doing this turn this needs to go this way to match up , move this down and move this up .

So now you've still got the cross and all these pictures are matched up .

OK ?

So next thing you want to do is we need to get these corner pieces um matched up .

So to do that , um it won't mess up any of these .

If you just do it the regular way to get to solve a three by three Rubik's cube , you get the piece that you want here , you put it directly .

Under it .

Now , if the piece is facing out this way , you turn this phase , if the , the color you want on top , if it's facing out this way , uh you turn that phase , but if it's , it was on this side , then I'd turn this phase .

So you turn the phase that it's facing out on and then it's , it makes it back here .

Now you just uh move that into place and move this back up and blow that and it matches up still .

So let's find another , this one right here .

Um Put it directly under where you want it to go .

Move the face that is facing out , moving into place and put this up .

Um All right , two more facing up that side .

So I move this , put it into place .

Yeah .

Well , one more thing , if it's on the bottom , you move , you still move it directly under where it's supposed to go , then you just move these two oops , if I can , OK , you move these two out of the way and then move this .

So that , that will make the bottom piece right here and you just flip this two times and that will bring it right up here and you gotta move this back , move this up .

OK ?

Uh Mine wasn't on the bottom though .

It's right here , facing out that way .

Put it up .

So now you should have the whole first , the first layer done , I guess .

And uh this row right here all done while matching up with all these pictures .

Um , if not , you did it wrong .

So now what you wanna do is get this side you completely solved and face it down .

OK ?

And now we're gonna be working on this middle section right here .

Ok .

Um To do that , uh you just need to find the pieces in between these .

So let's see if we could find .

OK .

Here's one , this one goes in between , oh whoops , I just passed it .

This one goes in between here and between these two .

So this , when they move this to here somehow , what you want to do is , um , not that this top according to you , but this side , um , if , if the , the color you gotta match what the picture looks like .

So like I wouldn't want to put it here to do the move unless um , this piece was turned around because it matches up with that picture , but this side matches up with this picture .

So you start it right here and it needs to go right here .

So you turn this the opposite way up , back down .

OK ?

And then you're gonna see there's one piece out of place .

Um You just get this piece , it's gonna be right here and you move it .

Yeah , it's under and then you just put it in like in the other corner it's facing that , that way .

So you move this and put it back up and I think I did something wrong .

So let me try this again .

So it's on this side away up .

Oh I'm sorry , a way up a way down .

Sorry about that .

I messed up .

But that's what you , that's the move and then you move this back over here and put it up .

Yes , that is correct .

Sorry about that guys .

Um So next OK , I can't find any other pieces if like all the pieces are up here that you need to put in the right order .

Just do this with any random piece and put in using that move that I just showed you just put in a random piece and it will move out the one that you need .

So there I move this one out .

So this one needs to go right here .

Matches up with this picture away , up away down .

OK ?

And I move this piece back into place and there you go .

Um Let's find another one right here .

OK .

So I wanna wanna start here because this piece doesn't match .

This piece doesn't match up here .

I'd want to go right here away , up away down and put this piece back .

OK ?

So I think I have one more and it's right here .

So I'm line it up my way up away .

Um Yes .

OK .

So now you should have the whole middle row solved .

Um OK .

So now here is the tricky part , sorry to break it to you .

But you gotta get the cross now on the bottom and this can start off right when you finish these two rows , it can start off to 11 of four ways .

You could either just have one middle piece , well , one , the centerpiece there and none of the middle pieces here .

Or you could have um , a line of middle pieces which I have right here or you could have an L , it looks like an L .

It's just the middle pieces right here , not this one and it's right here or you can have the whole cross .

Now , if you have a dot If you just have the one in the middle , then it doesn't matter which way you hold this to do this next move .

Um If you have a line , you wanna hold it horizontal .

So either here or here .

Um If you have an L , you gotta make sure the L is in this top corner right here .

You can't have it like this or like this or this .

It has to be in this top corner , ok ?

And um any of these for all three of those things , you do the same move .

But holding it the way I just said you do , you move this up away , up , back , down , down , ok ?

And that sent if you have the dot That will bring you to the L , the , I mean the line and then you do that same thing and that will bring you to the L um and then at the L you gotta hold it like this , not like that , you know , and then move this up , way up , back , down , down and that should bring you to the cross if you have the L um sometimes you just start out with the cross .

So yeah , now with the cross , you want to see if any of these , any of the middle pieces are lined up correctly for me .

This one is , but none of these other ones .

Um If none of them are , then once again it doesn't matter which way you hold this .

Um But um , if one of them is hold it to right here .

So the closest one to you right there .

So then you go up away , down , away , up two times down and that if that doesn't line it up for you , see if you have another , only one , right , hold that the same way and do it again .

Um Until you get all of them mined , all of them matched up .

I got pretty lucky .

Um Then make sure , always make sure that these are lined up .

Ok ?

Um Next thing you want to do is you wanna , um , get these , these corners done and you got to get them in the right place .

Not necessarily the right order to make the picture look right , but just in the right place .

So this one is in the right place and right order , this one is not in the right place or order .

This one is not in the right place or order and this one isn't either .

So if you have none of them in the right place or order , then it doesn't matter which way you do this once again .

Um , if you have one of them hold it like this .

So the one that's right is right here .

Um , and if you have all of them then just skip this step .

So , uh , what you do if you only have one of them right is to go away , up , back , up , back , down , over , down .

Ok .

And that , and if that doesn't get them all in the right spot , then just do it again .

It didn't , for me , I still only have this one in the right spot .

So I'm gonna do it again .

Way up , back , up , over , down , over down .

Ok .

Um , and now this one is in the right spot , this one is in the right spot .

Both of these are in the right order .

Also , this one is in the right spot and this one is in the right spot .

So once you have all of them in the right spot and probably a few of them in the right order .

If you don't , it doesn't matter just in the right spot , then , um , you find , I don't need to do anything to these two now , since they're already there .

But if they're not , you can do this , you find one of them that's in the wrong spot .

Hold it like this and you go down , over , up , over , down , over , up , over .

So it's the same thing just down , over , up , over and you either have to do that two times or four times to get that piece .

Right .

And now , um , don't forget to do the over at the end and now once you did that , um , don't touch anything , just move this face to your next piece that is gone .

That's , that's wrong and do it again .

So down , over , up over , that's one down , over , up , over .

So I didn't get it in two .

So I have to do it two more times down , over , up , over , down , over up over .

OK .

And now I think you can solve the rest .

I don't know , maybe just move this to the right spot and there you go .
