Let's start by prepping the chopped ingredients .
First pour and seed one green bell pepper , then chop it next chop one medium onion .
Then mince two cloves of garlic .
Next in a large skillet set over medium high heat , add one tablespoon of olive oil .
While the original recipe doesn't call for oil , it adds flavor and helps the vegetables saute evenly .
Add the chopped bell pepper and the chopped onion to the skillet .
Saute the vegetables for five minutes .
Add the minced garlic and saut for one more minute .
Then add in 1 28 ounce can of whole tomatoes and break them up with your spoon .
Then add two tablespoons of Italian seasoning and one cup of chicken broth .
Mhm .
Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool completely .
Pour the sauce into the jar of your food processor .
Blend the sauce until your desired consistency is reached .
Return the sauce to the sauce pan and place it over medium low heat .
Add in 16 ounce can of tomato paste and cook the sauce for another 20 minutes , stirring it occasionally serve the sauce hot over your favorite pasta .
All recipes member honey suggests that if you like a slightly chunkier sauce , you can add fresh chopped tomatoes , freshly chopped basil and chunks of fresh zucchini to the mix .
