Thanks again for watching , how to tear down and walk through for this segment .
We're going to talk about icloud .
Now , it's very important that if you've got an Apple device , especially the iphone or ipad , you want to get registered with icloud .
What this is going to do is it's going to back up all of your critical information up to Apple's Cloud .
This way you can access it from any other device that you choose and it really protects you .
Because if you lose a phone , you lose an ipad , something breaks .
You can easily restore all of your data and settings onto a brand new device and it's very simple to set up .
So let's go ahead and walk through there .
Now , first of all , you're gonna need to get into your settings , define your settings .
Uh The easy , the fastest way is to go over to the search and just start typing in settings .
Now , from here on the left hand side , we're gonna scroll down until you see icloud .
If you already have an account , then you can simply punch in your Apple ID and your password here .
If you don't , you're gonna need to click on , get a free apple ID .
Here .
It's going to ask you your birthday .
We're just going to make one up .
There we go .
And then it's gonna ask you your name and hit next .
If you'd like to use your current email address , you can check that box or if you'd like a brand new icloud email address you can check down there .
I'm just gonna go ahead and select current email address .
Now from here , just go ahead and put in your email address .
And of course , this is a valid email address .
So if you have any questions or would like to see any future videos , uh please feel free to email us .
And right here , you will need to create a password and verify that password and hit next .
Now from here , you're gonna have some security questions and this is gonna be helpful in case you forget your password , give you uh a few different options here .
Here we go .
And then lastly , you can have an optional rescue email .
I'm just gonna skip this question right here so you can turn on your email updates and that just lets you know different changes that um icloud is experiencing .
Now , the terms and conditions are available here .
I would just go ahead and close the uh the keyboard and then in the lower right hand corner , once you've finished reading all this documentation , go ahead and check , agree .
Lastly , it'll just verify that you have read all that information and I hit agree again .
So , the last thing that we need to do is verify the email that icloud has sent to us .
Once you've verified that email , we're gonna go right back in here into icloud .
And it's gonna ask you if you'd like to merge with icloud , your contacts on this ipad uh will be uploaded and merged with icloud .
Um I would recommend doing this because then all of your contacts will be joined with the icloud content and that just backs up everything all at once .
So let's go ahead and merge .
Secondly , it's going to just warn you that your location will be used for icloud .
Definitely allow this .
Lastly , we find ourselves in the icloud settings .
You'll notice that my account name is right here .
My email is turned off because I decided not to get an icloud email address .
My contacts are saved to the cloud along with my calendar , my reminders and my safari preferences .
Lastly , my notes here are turned off because again , you're gonna need an icloud account in order for these notes to work correctly .
My photo stream is on which means all of the photos that I take with this device will , will be backed up to the cloud , which is a great feature .
Find my ipad is a fantastic feature to help find your missing ipad or iphones and we're gonna walk through that in another tutorial later .
Lastly , you've got backup and storage .
Click on there .
You'll notice that you do get five gigs of free storage space .
I have five available .
You want to turn on icloud backup .
This is the most important part of this lesson start icloud backup .
Absolutely .
This will turn on your backup .
Now , what's gonna happen is uh as soon as you plug in this device at night and you're not using it , it will begin backing up the next time you are finished packing up , or let's say , uh in the morning , the first time you use your device , you'll notice that it says uh down here last backup and it'll give you the date and time that it last backed up .
Now , you can choose to immediately back up information by just clicking back up now and once that's all complete , we would just click up here on icloud and we're all set .
So , thank you very much for watching this tutorial .
Please remember to subscribe to this channel and leave us feedback .
Uh We'd love to know your thoughts and if you have any questions at all about these devices , uh we're looking for material for our next how to tear down and walk through .
