Hi , this is he from Nanny's Italian kitchen again .
It's a lazy Sunday afternoon .
And I didn't feel like making a whole big production and gravy and sauce or whatever you call it .
So I made a quick , I'm making a quick dinner , which is pasta .
Now years ago they used to salt the beans , cook the beans , whatever and it took hours and hours .
This is the 2016 version or the 21st century version of a quick pasta hustle .
When I think of pasta buzzle .
It somehow reminds me of my girlfriend , Lorraine .
Lorraine was a real jokester .
She took after her father .
All they did was play jokes on people and it was , that was made their , their day .
And so Lorraine , when we were younger , we were like 18 years old .
She was going out with her future husband and her mother-in-law Mary Honey Ball and her friend Josie .
We were sitting down one day and they used to have this little device that we used to make with rubber bands washers and a paper clip .
And what you would do is turn the rubber band and a washer and put it on a seat actually on a , a fabric seat or uh , a vinyl seat or leather seat .
And when you lifted up your leg , it made the exact sound of a fart .
Well , we did this one night with Josie and Mary Honey Ball and Josie was , she had us hysterical .
All she would do was say when your mother makes the beans , tell her to throw out the first water because in those days they didn't have progresso , they used to have to cook the beans , throw out the first water or use it and cook it and use it all together .
But Josie used to say , tell your mother to , to throw out the first water .
So you won't have so much gas .
So every time I eat pasta Mazzo , it reminds me of my late and best friend Graco at the time .
She was Lorraine Buxton , her father Willie Buxton .
Oh , that's another story for another time .
But every time I eat pasta , that's what it reminds me of .

Oh , ok .
When making the pasta buzz , you can substitute pan cheddar in for the oil .
Uh I usually put about 34 tablespoons of oil , but you put like a quarter of a pound of pan in there and use only like a tablespoon of oil to uh make up for the and it gives it a little bit more flavor .

So I have the water boiling for the pasta .
This is really quick .
I've got like three or four tablespoons of oil heating up in the pot and I have 4 to 5 large uh cloves of garlic and it's gonna simmer in there with some basil .
Then what we're gonna do is saute that until the garlic is slightly browned around the edge .
Ok ?
When it's just about browned around the edges , you add some tomato sauce .
Now you can add whatever you like .
I like to use the , either the puree or the tomato sauce .
Some people use crushed tomatoes .
You could use whole tomatoes , whatever you like .
But my family doesn't like when the uh tomatoes are chunky and you see lines in there , they like a smoother version .
I'm gonna add about a teaspoon or so of salt and let that start to uh heat up once it's heated up , you add the beans .
Now , some people like to rinse the beans out .
I don't rinse the beans because there's all that good stuff in there .
So what we're gonna do is we're gonna add the beans .
I got two cans of cannellini beans .
These are £1.03 ounces , 19 ounces .
I'm gonna add two cans of that .
Get all the beans out .
I drained all the extra liquid out of here and then I'm gonna mix that in .
Now , when that's mixed in , what happens is when the past the water is boiling and when the pasta is done , you're gonna mix some of the pasta water with this here and you let this simmer for 10 , 15 minutes .
This doesn't take long .
Excuse me , I need a sip .
It doesn't take long and don't forget you have to salt your water for the pasta tearing this .
This recipe always lacks each and every time I make it .
And we are going to be preparing some sauce that we are going to dip our pasta in .
Then we can enjoy that for lunch .
And with me , I have my list of ingredients .
And from this point , I have my pasta , I have my spices and you can also add whichever spice you like and leave out which you do not like .
I have some to this curry powder because you're definitely making a curry some black pepper paprika chicken masala .
But you can also use any other masala that you like .
I have my powder .
I have my tomato paste but you can also use tomatoes , uh some salt , my white onions , some garlic , ginger coriander leaves and coriander stems .
And you also need some cooking oil .
But since I do not have the cooking oil , I am going to be using some margarine .
You can also use butter .
Anyway , if you are making some pasta , it's allowed without further ado .
Let's get started .
In that case , you regular tomatoes or uh crushed tomatoes or tomatoes with the uh the plump tomatoes .
I like a lighter sauce , a soupier sauce .
So then you , when you add this here , it makes it like AAA soup instead of a heavy pasta dish , it all depends on your taste to come .
This is how I like it soupier and more than uh heavier .
Excuse me , this is how uh my kids like it .
This is how you'll find it in the , the restaurants .
It's always on the appetizer list or the soup list .
Then you add your , uh , Parmesan cheese and it's , uh , it's a quick easy meal .
You can have any day of the week when we were kids .
There were certain days that were pasta days .
Sunday was gravy or sauce , whatever you wanna call it , then we would have soup on Monday .
Tuesday was a pasta dish with something .
Wednesday was something else .
Thursday was again , pasta day , Friday was pasta with fish .
Saturday was meat and potatoes .
That's how we were brought up and we don't follow it right now .
But this is your end result .
You have a delicious bowl of pasta .
Yeah .
Now that my water is hot and boiling , I'm going to break this into two , but you don't have to break them and I'm going to add them in here and always remember to cook your pasta according to the instructions on the packaging .
So mine says you boil it for about nine minutes and I'm going to do exactly that .
Then I'm also going to add some salt .
Then I'll see you once my pasta is almost ready .
We are about seven minutes into the cooking process and I'm going to test this , they are almost ready .
So I'm going to switch the vial .
Then you can also notice that my water is white in color .
This means that starch is present and starch is such a good vegan agent for your recipes .
So you should not discuss this water .
