Drawing A Bee With My 2-Year-Old - Preschool

Hey , our friends .

I'm super excited because today I got a special guest .

It's my youngest little girl .

And what's your name ?

I say baby .

Can you say baby ?

Yeah , that's her name .

Well , Olivia is her name .

How old are you ?

Can you do your bunny ears ?

22 , two fingers .

Yeah .

I'm super excited because we've never done a lesson with her .

It's the first time and we're gonna see if we could draw A B we're gonna just use simple shapes because she's only two .

And so this is a great lesson for young artists .

All right .

You ready to draw ?

Yeah .

OK .

Now we're using oil pat cells from fabric cast cell .

I'm gonna use the oil pass cells and Olivia is using bees wax , uh crowns from fabric castel and instead of using sharpies or permanent market and I love that you've already started .

Give me five .

You did such a good job on your bee .

She is always so excited to draw .

I can hardly ever .

I , I can never stop her .

If she just , any time , any time she sees a crayon or something to draw with , she just asks for paper she has to draw .

And so it's been fun teaching her and drawing with her .

And one of my other favorite things too about Olivia is that she's left handed .

If , if you haven't already noticed , that's so cool .

You got little circles .

We , we've been working on our circles , haven't we ?

I think one of the most important things to remember when you're drawing with your kids is to remind them that the most important thing is to have fun and to also let them do whatever they want .

If they want to draw circles on the paper , it's OK .

It's OK to draw circles .

But we're gonna try .

Oh You , that's mine .

You're drawing with mine .

I , no , these ones are yours over here .

Olivia , what colors do we have ?

What color is this ?

Yeah , black and what color is this ?

Yellow ?

Yeah .

And we're gonna use these two colors .

That's another thing that you can do when you're drawing with really young artists is just use uh limited colors just for fun just to see if they can switch between the two colors .

And then also follow along with you and use the same color .

Oh You wanna trade now ?

OK .

I'm gonna use these OK .

Olivia , we're gonna try to use our black .

Can you get your black ?

Get your black one and put your yellow one down ?

Can you put your yellow one ?

Put your yellow one up Here , there you go .

Ok .

I'm gonna draw a first , I'm gonna draw a big oval .

Can you draw an oval really big in the middle ?

Yeah , you did it look at that .

Now we're gonna draw a little dot For the I can you do a little dot Can you put it , put it inside the circle right there ?

Now we're gonna add lines .

It's one of my favorite things is to draw along with Olivia and the most important thing is to have fun .

Seriously , it's ok that she doesn't do it exactly the same as me .

In fact , it , I think it's more important that she does it her own way .

Hey , now I'm gonna finish my beat .

I'm gonna color the stripes and whoa , look at that and I'm also gonna clear this stripe and look , I'm gonna color the stinger too .
