Welcome to video three of three on how to solve the Rubik's cube brought to you by lube , the cube dot com .
Uh What we're gonna do is solve the bottom cross by now .
You should have all everything solved .
See four corners , the first two layers .
Again , I'm teaching you the easiest way , not the fastest way .
So there's plenty of other videos on how to be faster , but I just want people to be able to solve this .
OK .
So let's assume you're already here .
You have the four corners done .
What we want to do is get to one of these three scenarios .
This is the H see the yellow H makes the capital H .
This is the fish .
See this right here is the fish head , this and this or the tail .
And this is the H also , but it's just twice .
It doesn't look like an H but it is see how these are flipped .
Well , this just has the same thing .
It's on this side too .
I'll show you how to fix it .
Basically you just do the same algorithm twice , same algorithm that you do for this you do on , on this twice So our starting phase on this , so we can get to one of these three scenarios needs to be a face that has um one side that has all the cubes on the right face , but they may not be flipped correctly .
Like both of these could be our starting side , even though this one isn't flipped correctly , it could still be our starting side .
Now , obviously , this uh looks like the H but it's not because this is flipped out .
So the H is everything's perfect except for these two , the fish , everything's perfect except for these two .
And then the H twice is all four of these are in the right place , but they're flipped .
See how this couldn't be an H because it's not the right color .
So these have to be the right color .
See , green and green , blue and blue .
Same thing with all these moves to do any of them , see orange and orange , blue , blue , see I always are in the right place .
They just need to be flipped .
So we need to get to that space OK .
The way we do that is we have to do this algorithm first and to do this algorithm to find our face .
To start with , we look for a side that is all right as far as where the cubes are placed , but one of them might need to be flipped .
So we could either start with this or with this .
OK .
This is already the H but uh so we're gonna start with this now , even if let's say this one was messed up over here , excuse me , this was messed up over here .
We could still use this as our starting face because the green , see how this whole face is green .
This is in the right place even though it still needs to be flipped .
OK .
So we're gonna use , choose this as our starting phase because even though this looks like the age , it's not because this is wrong .
So this is the algorithm we're gonna do .
And this is the piece you want to track , this will help you memorize it .
It's really easy .
It's up over , put this middle layer back down .
So all we did was take this up and put it over here .
Then we twist the top twice , once twice .
So now this piece is over here , then we flip up this bottom layer again , plug in the white , put the bottom layer down .
OK ?
And that takes us to almost the H .
So we keep on doing this algorithm until we get one of these scenarios .
So we're gonna do it again up , over down , over , over up , plug in the white .
Put this back down .
OK .
Do we have one of those scenarios ?
Yes , we do .
We have the H but let's see , you're not there yet .
Let's see you got something like this , which one of these would be the starting phase .
This one would because it's in the right place .
Remember the right uh color even though it needs to be flipped , this could not be our starting face because this would have to be green .
This would have to be orange .
Uh This would have to be blue .
So it's the red .
OK .
So we're gonna go up over now if your cube doesn't flip up like this real easy , another way to do it would , of course you need to get a real speed cube .
But if you can't do that , you just go bring these two up , put this back down , see it accomplished the same thing .
We just left this this middle layer up .
See OK .
So up over down , all I did was move this middle layer down even though it looks like I moved this over over up , plug in the white .
Let's put the middle layer back down even though it looked like I moved both of these down .
Really ?
I only left this one down .
OK ?
So I'm gonna do it fast .
OK ?
Now we got this OK ?
So let's show you how to do it .
So once you got one of these three scenarios , you're gonna move on to these algorithms , so you may have to do this a whole bunch of times uh before you get to one of these scenarios .
OK ?
And again , this is gonna be my face .
I do this on if you don't have any cube in the right position .
You know , like say this wasn't red and none of these were in the right position as a starting face .
Then you would just do the same thing randomly until you did have one in the right position .
This is in the right position , OK ?
None of these other ones are and this is in the right position because it matches this cube matches this color .
The yellow could be on top and the red could be right here .
It could be perfect like this and that would still be your starting face .
And you would do this algorithm until you got to one of uh piece three .
So let's start with the H what we'll do .
It's real easy .
This would be your starting face , either this or this doesn't matter .
You go up , over , up , over , up , over , over , down , over , down , over down , over , over , fixed it .
Now , how do we solve this ?
Same way we did that but we do it twice , up , over , up , over , up , over , over , down , over , down , over , down , over , over .
So what's going to be our starting phase this or this doesn't matter up , over , up , over , up , over , over down , over , down , over , down , over , over .
See how do we sell the fish , the dead more fish .
Same thing that we did for the H but we do a set up , move the setup move now that when you do this move , it always has to be these two pieces always have to be here .
It doesn't matter what color they are .
I mean , this could be , you know , um any two colors as long as they match the face .
So make sure you don't start the algorithm here or here .
It has to be started like this where they right here , the set up move is like this and this , then you do the , the H pattern move again , you go up over , up , over , up , over , over down , over down , over down , over over , then you gotta to undo that setup move at the beginning of the setup move , you went like this and then this , we're gonna reverse it .
So we're gonna do this first , then this OK .
Now to get to one of those uh three scenarios again , you know , we have to get to one of these three scenarios .
Again , you had to have a starting face and do that , do the move .
See this will be our starting phase here .
You gotta do this move that I'm about to show you , which I showed you at the beginning of the video .
Remember up over middle , back down , over , over middle , back up , plug in the white , put this back down , you gotta do that move a whole bunch of times until you get to one of these scenarios .
So I'm still not there .
This is gonna be my starting face again because this matches now this same cube , same colors could be flipped and this would still be our starting face .
So up , over , down , over , over up , plug it in and this time it solved it , it doesn't always do that , but you just keep on doing that move and to get one of these scenario , three scenarios or sometimes it will solve it pretty rarely though .
That's it .
