OK , let's get straight to it .
So I tried to mix the Rubik's cube up as much as I could .
Um Let's go ahead and start with the block face .
Now , this is pretty much the most basic step and most of you probably already know how to do this .
So if you do , go ahead and skip to the minute that I'm going to put down on the screen right now .
Uh For the rest of you , our first objective is to obtain a cross right here .
So we're gonna look for the pieces that we need .
Black and blue being the first and we have to find the blue face .
It's very important to keep into consideration that these middle pieces do not move and it's not just about making everything look pretty here .
It's about making sure that these colors are already lining up with this piece as well .
So black and blue .
Where'd you go ?
Here we go .
We'll come on over to the blue face .
Now , get it right under blue , match it up and then you can roll it on around , go about in any way that you want .
This part is pretty easy .
I don't feel like it needs a lot of explanation , but it is a very helpful tip to realize that doing the cross before the corners um can save you a lot of headache .
This one's in the right place and the wrong rotation .
So let's get it off of there and then come down and get it .
Now we just need black and orange .
Here we go , come back and get it .
OK .
Next step is getting the corners in place .
And what we're gonna do here is pretty self-explanatory .
Look for the pieces and then take into consideration all three colors and based on that the side of a corner , it goes in here , we have red , green and black .
Now , if you'll notice , I'm thinking of them as you know , in the axis , which one I could pick it up on .
So for example , if I could pick this one up on this axis , it would not be in the right place .
But if I picked it up on this axis , it would .
So I just get it out of the way and come down to pick it up .
So you know , things to think about here , we have blue , orange and black and again this axis , it won't be in the right place , but this one , it will .
So to get ready for that , we have to get it completely off that axis , come down and get it , put it on and pick it up and for our final piece , red , blue and black .
OK .
So this is the absolute basics , right ?
And I like to think of it as um a building .
We've got our first floor ready that includes the bottom face and all of the pieces , you know , the side pieces on the first floor .
Our next task will be to do the second floor .
And that means getting all of these pieces in the right place .
And what do you know we've got one already .
So the easiest way to go about this is looking for pieces up here that don't have yellow , which means they don't need to be up here .
Let's start with this blue and orange .
So we go and find our blue and orange faces where they intersect .
So this piece needs to go here .
Now , this is a really cool trick .
I like to think of this as the seam and we're gonna get the piece exactly across from the color that's on top .
So if it were orange , we would put it here .
But since the blue is the color on top , we put it here and now everything is in relation to this scene and watch this movement starting with the blue face , which is the color that's on top up the scene toward the seam , down the seam and they're gonna match up and you get it out of the way for the orange face , up the sea to the seam and down and there it is and we haven't affected anything .
Let's try that again .
Let's look for green and red and it's already in the right place .
Green with green on top .
And we're gonna start like this up the seam toward the seam , down the seam , out of the way other face , up the seam toward the seam and down .
And we've got one last piece .
It is orange and green and it's already in the right place because we're gonna start with a green face this time .
So it's gonna be the same movements .
But backwards , we start with a green face because green is on top up the seam toward the seam with the piece down the seam and out of the way .
And now the orange face up the seam toward the seam and down there you go , you've got your second floor of the building and now you're going to notice as we move on to the third floor that there's either going to be , um , a little arrow here , a line or a full cross with the color that you want , which is yellow in this case .
So there is one movement that allows you to move from one to the next .
Our objective is to get a cross .
Um The first possible configuration would be an arrow , you would point it this way if you had an arrow and then you're going to do this clock , clock , clock , counter , counter , counter .
So now we have a cross .
And if we had had an arrow that would have turned into a line and then you put the line right in front of you like I did and do the same movement .
So let's just try it again .
Clock , clock , clock , counter , counter counter .
There's our arrow because I'm regressing .
Let's try it again .
Put the arrow pointing northwest in order to do this movement , starting with the front face , clock , clock , clock , counter , counter counter .
Now we have the line clock clock , clock , counter , counter counter .
Now we have the cross .
Now we happen to also have all of the pieces um with the yellow facing up , but they're all in the wrong place .
What we are worried about right now is the cross .
Let's find a way to at least have two of uh the pieces aligned in the cross .
So if we do this rotation , we've got orange and blue in the right place , which means we just need to fix these guys .
Now , this movement requires that you put the pieces that are in the correct place in northeast , ok .
If this were a compass , you're pointing northeast , put those there and then you're going to do this movement clock , clock , counter , clock , clock 1 80 back down .
And so when you rotate , they're all in the right place .
Now , let's go back to that .
When I say clock clock counter clock clock 1 80 we're only working with this face and this face with , there are two pieces that are in the right place here .
So clock , clock , counter , clock , clock 1 80 then put everything in its place .
So now we've got all of our pieces matched up .
And the next thing to look at is the corner pieces .
It appears that none of them are in the right place .
So what I'm going to do is a movement called off with her head .
You're gonna pull this back like a slingshot and shoot this up and say off of their head , shoot up the sister who comes the defender off of their head , shoot it back down , put the head back on and back down .
Now , what did we do ?
We moved a few pieces around and we managed to get this one in the right place , brown rotation , but it's in the right place , which is what we care about .
Now , this one is in the right place .
We have three more to deal with .
What we're gonna look at is either side of the safe piece , the piece that we want to make sure we don't move anymore .
Which one of those goes here in this case , it's gonna be this one .
So we wanna shot that guy over there .
What we're gonna do is pull back , protect this guy sling this guy forward off for their head , sling the sister forward to protect off of their head too .
This guy's heads back on going back down , head back on , going back down .
What did we do ?
This guy not only rotated for us , conveniently , we've got all the pieces in the right place , two of them are in the right rotation .
And now we're at the final step .
I love this step that when I did this for the first time when my sister was showing me , I was like , what just happened .
So this is called the hospital .
Our hospital corner will be this one .
It will not change .
And all we're gonna do is bring in the patients that are in the wrong rotation into the hospital until they get cured .
This is the movement counter , counter clock clock , same two faces the whole time , counter counter clock clock .
Ok ?
That guy's in the right place .
We've got a mess down here but we're not gonna let that distract us .
We're gonna bring in the next patient .
Ok ?
Don't move anything because it's all gonna autocorrect itself .
And here we go again .
Counter counter clock clock clock , counter counter clock clock .
Sometimes it takes more than two rotations .
So here we go counter counter clock clock and it's gonna be one more counter counter clock clock and there it is survey .
