So now let's do um this one , then there's three total cases but looks like we're gonna have the same one for each of them .

But anyways , this one , the greens are matching , this is orange , that is not the orange side , this is , let's put it in again , you do Uru prime R prime and then now you have a um like a pair , I guess .

And then you put it in normally again .

So you do , you move it in the way you bring it down , you put it in and then you bring it back up , then um , this is the same case but I'm gonna try and get a different case .

So the second case is instead of moving it to the right , you move it to the left , it's exactly , it's basically the same thing .

So you have um , the blues are matching but the orange isn't .

So you don't bring the orange that way , but you bring it that way this time .

So to do that , you move it away or yeah , you move it to the direction that away from the direction .

So since you're trying to bring this there , you move it away .

So basically you prime um L prime , you bring it up , you and our prime .

So it's basically the same thing just on this side and then to put this in , it's on just on the left side .

So you move it out of the way you put this down and then you put it in and then you put it back out .

So that's how you do the middle um or the second layer , but there's gonna be one more case .

But if it does , um I don't just don't wanna miss anything .

So to do this , you put a piece with an yellow um edge , that's the only time you're gonna put a yellow edge in a mid um middle um the second layer .

So that's so you only do it when it's in the second um when the it's flipped .

So , um so now what you have to do is just put in any edge with a yellow piece , it has to be a yellow piece when it's flipped to do it .

You , you just bring it to the with um you wanna bring this , you wanna replace this one with this , so you just do the same thing , Uru prime R prime and then you just put it in normally , then the piece that you , that was in it gets out which because you replaced it and then now you can put it in normally .

So since the blue goes that way you do Uru Prime R prime , then it ha it makes like a pair and then again , you just put it in normally .

So um yeah , that's how you do the second late er of the three by three , Rubik's Cube .

So if you look at a cube and it always helps if you have another cue when you're starting out , I've got yellow on top , I'm gonna have , I'm gonna work on blue .

That means reds on this side because if you mess it up and you put orange over here , the cue won't work .

So you gotta make sure that you put the centers in the correct place .

So I'm gonna put blue here and now I'm not gonna worry about the white and I'm not gonna worry about the yellow .

Let's just worry about getting blue here .

So I've got one blue here .

Ok , so now I've got two blues .

Now , since I don't have two , it's ok , I'm just gonna bring this blue up .

Turn it , bring this one back .

So I've got two now that are in the same spot .

If I make orange here , I'm in a lot of troubles and I've done that before and then you try to figure it out and you're , you're wondering why it's not working .

That's why .

It's very important to get the center , which is the nucleus .

Now , most of the colors should be done .

So I'm gonna go back to yellow so I can get my bearings yellow on top , blue , red .

And then over here , uh we've got green and opposite of red is orange .

So we need this to be orange .

So I'm just gonna make this orange .

Once I fix the orange , the green will fix itself .

So I see orange here , I'm gonna go ahead and turn this this way because I see two orange here and this is the top .

I'm working with .

I'm gonna bring that up .

Move the oranges out of the way , bring back my oranges and now everything is done .

See how it , it doesn't mess with the other centers .

So now that we have that done , now what we get into the relationship portion .

So that was part one guys .

Part one is create the centers .

Part two is doing the edges um In a normal three by three , you only have one edge here .

You have two .

What we need to do is marry the two edges .

So we've got these um these edges , you have two of them , you have to find its , its counter uh part .

So once you find its partner , um they will be married and they will become one edge like in marriage .

Becomes 12 flesh , becomes one flesh .

So now what we gotta do , this is tricky .

Um But you guys can get it .

Uh We're gonna go ahead and find the pieces .

So I'd like to work with um , any side it doesn't matter which side you're working with and I start looking for uh the partner .

So I've got blue and white here .

I don't see blue and white .

I got red and yellow , red and green .

So I'm looking for any of these .

Oh , look , there's a red and yellow and there's a red and yellow , usually just in one face , you could find edges that match .

So these match .

So what I need to do is I need to get them to line up .

So what I did is I've got this red and yellow here and a red and yellow here .

I've got to get this red and yellow here .

So it's almost like uh they're diagonal a little bit like that .

Uh So I can um do the next move set .

So if you get them to line up like this on the same line , it's a simple move to get this to go here .

So all you do is you're gonna move this up .

So our piece is now up here and then we're gonna turn the face this way and I'm gonna turn the cube this way .

So this is still here and now I'm gonna bring back my red and yellow , which is right here .

That move is very important .

Now we gotta move them out of the way .

How do we do that ?

We lift it up to the top , I need to replace , move this back down .

So let's go ahead and do that one move set , which fixes that problem .

So we're gonna go up , turn this and then turn the cube and there .

Now they're lined up , see red and green , red and red and green .

And we also have orange and green and orange and green .

These are the only two that are left that are not married now that they're lined up together .

You're gonna do this move set .

And the way you remember it is like this double DRF prime U , the other person says R prime F , double D prime , OK .

Double D or the two down , double D RF prime U R prime F , double D prime .

And as you can see , the reds are now red and green are married and the orange and green are married and that's all of them are married .

What happens when you get a bunch of yellow ?

Well , we're gonna have to trade one of these .

So what I like to do is look for what I got to trade for .

So I've got a blue and um red .

So I'm gonna spin this around until I find the blue .

I've got blue here and I've also got red so I can trade any of these .

I'm gonna go ahead and trade the blue .

Uh it doesn't matter , but let's trade this one for this one .

We're treating this exactly like you would , uh , a three by three .

However , now we run into this issue about parodies .

Don't know if you guys have heard about parodies , but with a four by four , when you try to solve it , this way , you run into these parodies and I believe I've got one here and I might even have one here , which means this yellow should be up here and this yellow should be up here .

Um If that happens , uh there is another algorithm you need to learn to solve that parody and you're gonna need to learn that one .

So in reality , there's actually a total of seven algorithms which will solve the other two parodies that you might run into .

Um I don't want to solve the parody now .

So what we're gonna do is I'm gonna pretend this is up here and pretend this is up here .

So what is that ?

If I had yellows here and yellows here , I would have the what I call the Taj Mahal .

You never have to use an additional algorithm to solve this corner parody .

All I do is I take these two and let's match it with its corresponding color .

There it is blue and I'm happy here .

Once I have this , I put this towards the back and I'm gonna do this algorithm , which is the one that you guys have learned on the three by three , which is our prime Fr prime back two times , right ?

There's two guys talking .

So we're gonna go R prime fr prime back two times .

The other guy says RF prime R prime back two times .

They both say R two times and uh A U prime usually solves a side .

Cool .

There it is .

I'm gonna take this solid side and put it towards the back .

So let's pretend the reds here and let's pretend um if this reds here , I can put that over here this is orange .

So I'm gonna face the orange to my , to , to me and I'm gonna do the other algorithm that you guys are familiar with , which is the R two times Uru and then you do R prime U prime , R prime , U prime R prime Ur prime .

Now , what I did essentially is move the orange from here over here .

So now the orange is here except that we're messed up with that parody .

Still , this is another messed up parody .

The red should be here and this uh red and blue need to swap .

OK ?

Um But what's happening now is that I actually have to get this to this side so I can swap those two in an algorithm and then fix the yellow parody in an algorithm .

So this really messed up sometimes when you do the four by four , it just comes together like a three by three and you don't run into any parodies and um it works out perfectly .

Sometimes you get this monster .

So it's kind of cool .

I guess that it happened um , on video , but now my video is gonna go long .

Um , so let's see , let's keep going .

What I gotta do now is I've got to move , um , this red over here , so I'm going to rotate it clockwise because I need these two to be on opposite sides and I'm not sure if it's gonna work out exactly .

But um what I do know is that these two cannot be next to each other .

They have to be across from each other in order to do a um the algorithm for that parody .

So I'm gonna do it again .

R two times .

Urur prime U prime R , prime U , prime R , prime U are prime , boom .

There they are , they're across from each other now .

So the blue resolved itself there he is .

Now , I've got these two that are need to be swapped and they both have pa uh yellow parodies .

If , if I didn't have the yellow parody , the red would be here and the orange would be here .

These two just need to swap and that's another parody .

So it's kind of a parody mixed with a parody .

So , what a mess .

So I'm gonna teach you the parody uh to swap these two .

So I'm gonna swap them first and then I'll just be left with the yellow parody .

So you got W and double R .

So W-2 times double R two times and then he's gonna say , oh yeah , you two times and then R is gonna say , oh yeah , little R two times .

That's this one in the middle here .

Everything's two times .

And then he's going to say , wait a minute , you two times and then we go back to normal , double R two times , double U two times .

OK .

So we did the swap .

If we didn't have a parody , we'd have the red in the right spot and we'd have the orange in the right spot .

It's solved .

But we've got a double , we've got a double yellow parody .

What a pain .

So we're gonna bring down this little R and every time you mess with the little R or the little L , you have to make a move .

That's two times .

So I brought that down and you're going to do the up two times .

Now , it's a little L , whenever little L comes moves in this case , it came down , you're gonna do face two times .

Now little L is gonna go up .

Well , what do we do when little goes up ?

You're gonna do face two times when little L moves at all .

Now we're gonna um , since we did two .

Little L's , now the R is upset he's saying , oh yeah .

Well , I get to go twice .

So he's gonna go down twice .

Little R goes down twice .

And what happens when that , when you move ?

Little R you gotta do the face two times .

And now li uh little R is upset .

Still , he's gonna go up one and then we're gonna do face two times and he's still mad .

He's gonna go down one more .

And what happens ?

We gotta do the top uh up twice .

Now , once that happens , you're gonna see this , these two right here and we're , we're gonna do is match it up with this .

So I'm gonna go around until it matches up there .

It is .

See how now it's on the same line and then once you match it up , little R is gonna go down two times again .

Little R goes down two times .

But this time , once Little R does that , we're already matched up .

All we gotta do is match up the yellow , just keep going and boom , we're done .

See , we got rid of one of the yellow parodies .

Now we've got left is one yellow parody .

We're gonna do this again , guys .

See the little , the little two guys there and we need to match this up with this .

Just move gets , get that yellow up twice .

Boom and it's solved .
