Timothy Chalet's Wonka has emerged as this year's Christmas box office winner while Aquaman and the lost Kingdom drowns after giving up the number one spot to the DC superhero pick over the Long December 22 through 25 weekend , Waka which opened the weekend before Christmas reclaimed the throne on Tuesday .

The movie musical now has propelled past the $100 million mark in North America .

Meanwhile , the Jason Momoa led Aquaman has earned only $52.5 million domestically illumination and Universal's migration has moved up to the number two spot behind Wonka .

The family film earned $6.3 million .

Wednesday for a domestic total of $30.6 million .

Aquaman two followed in third place with $5.9 million .

The Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg produced musical adaptation , the color purple .

Meanwhile placed number four on Wednesday with 3.9 million after a dazzling start on Christmas Day with $18 million the second best opening ever for a film launching December 25th and finally Sony's edgy romantic comedy .
