Hey guys , this is Marian for HGTV dot com .
And on today's weekday craft afternoon , we're making giant paper do Dallas are my favorite , late summer flower .
And the great thing about this oversized paper version is there's no green thumb required .
Here's what you'll need .
You can find precut cardboard circles in the cake decorating section of the craft store or you can make your own .
All right , let's get started .
First up , we're going to cut our scrapbook paper into four inch squares .
I highly recommend using a paper cutter for this .
It will make your job go a lot faster .
All right .
Once you've cut roughly 60 squares , it's time to start making our paper cones .
This is really easy .
It's just like making an ice cream cone .
We're gonna start off by placing a length of double stick tape along one edge of your paper square just like that .
Now , bring the opposite corner about halfway across the square and then bring that taped side over to overlap it .
Make sure you've got the tape good and secure because we don't want these cones to pop open while you're making your flour .
Just repeat that action .
About 60 times .
All right .
Once we've made all of our paper cones , it's time to start assembling our flour .
We're going to start by flattening the bottom inch or so of the cone .
And I've applied a layer of double stick tape to the outside of our cardboard circle .
Place that on the tape and you're gonna want to space them out just under a finger width .
A part once we have our first layer of cones down , put down another layer of tape and just nestle the second layer of cones in between the first bringing in each layer by about an inch and a half .
All right , just one of these dahlias makes a beautiful and unique wreath for your front door or you can make several for a really impressive piece of wall art .
Well , guys , that's it for this week's episode of Weekday Craft afternoon .
