Right .
I think I've found the secret key to making your videos go viral and the key looks something like this .
So just recently I started reading this book Contagious by Jonah Berger .
And it's about why things catch on fascinating , fascinating read and I really recommend it strongly .
There'll be some links below this video where you can get a copy for yourself .
But inside the book , there were a number of aha moments , you know , and I've been studying this viral thing for years and years and reading a book like this was really refreshing because a lot of the aha moments are based on backed up by really solid research that Jonah and his team did .
One of the things that stood out to me was a really secret little thing that helps your videos go viral .
And it's one thing I think that if you include this inside your videos can really make a bass massive difference .
And that secret thing is wait for it .
Emotion .
OK .
So that's not a big surprise , emotion , emotion helps your video spread .
But that was not the aha moment .
The aha moment was that it's a specific kind of emotion that helps your videos get spread .
And it's a kind of emotion that has wait for it .
High arousal , ok .
High arousal .
So both positive and negative emotions can spread .
It's not just positive , it's not just negative , but it's positive or negative kind of emotions that has a high level of arousal .
Very important .
Now , Jonah has a little , little matrix that he uses to kind of explain this .
And if you look at it , you'll see there's basically two columns and two rows in the high arousal column , you'll see the positive and negative ones for positive .
It's awe , excitement , amusement or humor and for the negative ones , it's anger or anxiety or similar emotions .
Now , on the low arousal one , for the positive one , it's stuff like contentment for the negative one is stuff like sadness or emotions like sadness .
Now , isn't that interesting ?
So what he showed was that emotion is very important for helping your videos go viral , but it has to be the right kind of emotion .
It can be both positive or negative , but it has to have a high level of arousal .
How cool is that ?
How cool of an aha moment is that ?
I mean , for me , it certainly was a nice aha moment .
So just making your video sad or making , you know , or you know , creating a video that makes people sad or , or making them , you know , content , feeling good about themselves is not enough for it .
To get spread .
It has to have that high arousal kind of emotion in built into , into the videos .
Now , there's actually an example that I want to use as a case study and I wanna involve you a little bit inside it because I think it's very interesting .
There's a really cool little video that I saw recently that went viral and um it definitely had some high arousal content in it .
How high arousal , emotional , emotional kind of content .
And what I'd like to do is invite you to go and watch that video and see for yourself , watch it and , and you know , feel for yourself , what kind of high arousal emotion it invoked in you while you were watching it and you know why you'd want to share it .
Uh The girl who created this video , her name is Karen and she actually created a list of things that she did to help that make that video go uh viral as well .
But I think it had a really high arousal uh emotional content to it and I'd like you to go and watch it and come back here and leave your comment .
Why you think that video went viral or at least what was the emotional arousal content there that , that , that made you want to share it with your friends or why you think other people would want to share it with their friends ?
OK .
Simple .
So what I'll do is um you know , I'll , I'll have a link for this book uh in the description area below this video where you can go and buy it on Amazon .
Uh I really recommend getting a copy .
It's , it's , it'll , it'll , if , if you haven't studied this stuff before , there's , there's some really good books like , uh you know , um Crossing The Chasm by Jeffrey Moore .
There's the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell and now this one really , really powerful books , I'll have the links for those books as well below in the , in , in the description area .
But then I'll also have the link to the video that I want you to watch from Karen .
Uh and you know , check it out .
It's had millions of views already and I'll also link to another article that Karen wrote about how to make your videos go viral , very , very enlightening I article .
Um And of course , I invite you to leave your comment below this video .
Um and , and , and why you think that video went viral ?
Ok .
So pretty simple .
Um I hope you've enjoyed this video and the aha moment that you know that I've shared with you from this book .
Um But go and read the book for yourself and , and get some more aha moments if you can make your video go viral and you set it up on the right , you set your video and your video content strategy up in the right way so that you can really build your business from that it's gonna be really tremendous , tremendous stuff .
Anyway um that's it from me and I look forward to chatting to you to you real soon and start my next video or inside the comments below this video .
Alright , talk to you soon .
Bye .
