How To Draw A Panther _ Step By Step

What's up everybody ?

Welcome back to another drawing tutorial .

So we got an animal today , a black Panther so or a panther .

Um but specifically , it's a black one because it doesn't really have spots so you could put spots on it if you want .

I think panthers have spots .

I'm not sure I am on a portrait orientation page .

We're just focusing on the head and we're going to start with the eyes .

So you want to start along the middle line for your page , that's where I've placed the eyes , right just along that horizontal center and this is the middle point and you just come over a little bit and we're going to place one eye here and one eye here , right ?

So we're going to start with that curve line for the top eyelid .

Yeah , that's cool .

Curb it up and it goes over the top curling around like so it's a real sort of big curve line coming out like that .

So then under there we have his iris right coming down from in here .

So it's gonna like curve around real big semicircle sort of shape in there .

OK ?

And then there's a pupil just in here , right at the top , just there and dark black .

So he's like looking up at us under the eyelid there and we're just going to make this sort of dark edge a little bit darker .

So we're going to go and like , so bring it up and down and around like this .

So we're just thickening up this bottom side and then it's going to go all the way up into here and this is like dark black , it all in here .

Think so you right .

So then jump over and we'll come over and do the other one .

So we're , we're like pretty far apart .

You could probably fit like 12 eyes , maybe double eye distance between them to maybe just about .

So it's the main thing to remember is it's more than eye distance .

So if you want , I goes to about here and then like a little bit more .

So it's gonna come over again just like the other side .

Think so .

And then we do the iris so big semicircle curving around in there like that , that his pupil just here semi circle black like soap and then we'll do this dark outline around this as well .

So it comes up into there like , so this is just that dark skin that's big cats have her around their eyes .

So just to make this a little bit longer .

Ok .

So now we're just going to add some details around the eyes .

So like , just like a little sort of hairy , sort of eyelid sort of line under here , maybe one on top as well .

Just like a jaggedy sort of line doesn't have to be a smooth line .

It can be if you want , but sometimes it looks more realistic if you do like dashes and dots and stuff and then another line just coming up over here with that .

So now we'll go down towards the snout .

Ok .

So these lines kind of come down this way , a little bit , a little bit longer , right ?

Just there .

Yeah , that's a real wide sort of nose and then just step inside from there and we'll do the lang down from there .

So this is like the inside of his nose and he might have like some wrinkles and stuff , hair and things growing like inside here just a little bit .

You don't have to do too much of this just to suggest sort of that there's hair coming up the center of his nose .

So then down here we bring this down a little bit further .

So we're gonna come in , they , I got in like this in towards his nose down here .

So this one's the same .

So it goes down , same weight and goes diagonal in the best .

So the nose will bump across here .

So it's gonna go bumping .

I think so down .

Oh , and down that it's gonna come around in a sort of a V like sort of shape .

So it's going to come around here like so and then it will come down like this same on this side .

So we come around doesn't have to be perfectly symmetrical down and it would come down to a point .

So it would go down like so like soap and then we have nostrils and a kind of a line up the middle .

So we do the line up the middle just there and then sort of a darker sort of section in here .

Of course , the nose could be colored in all dark black if you wanted , but we have just a darker nostril here , kinda like this and this goes in and travels down to this V area just here .

Ok ?

You could color it all black if you just wanted the easy road , that's no problem .

That would be .

But if anyone wants to color it differently , I'll just draw it in like this .

So this is like the nostril area just here .

So then down from this point , it joins that cat like mouth that they have , you know , those two sort of turns those bumps here .

So we go straight down a little bit more and then we're gonna just bring this around , ok , curving real big , curve catlike mouth like this , bring it around all the way up to hear somewhere just at the top of his nose just there .

And you could just add sorry just while I'm here .

I'm just gonna add a little line just for the side of his nose was just there , maybe some hatching and stuff just there .

And then we do this mouth blind on the other side .

So that comes all the way up and around , up to there as well .

So the same sort of level , I think so .

And then they have those dots for whiskers .

So , you know , those sort of , they're like these circles sort of things that come around three or four layers of them and they get kind of thicker at the end here and they get thinner as they go in .

So that's where like the whiskers s can make that and you can do the same thing on this side as well , do something like that .

So then he has a chin .

So just like a hairy chin could be as hairy as you want .

It could be as smooth as you want or just sort of do an in between sort of jaggedy kind of line with some hair coming out the bottom here .

So , and there should be like a shadow in here .

So like just across here , this should be darker just to show the inside of his mouth .

You could put some texture coming down here if you wanted , but not 100% necessary .

OK .

So , so the side of his head comes out then from these parts of his mouth , right ?

So , so say coming out from here .

So we go out like this comes around kind of bumping a little bit bumping like , so this is like his jaw and then I come up the side of his head .

I don't think so .

I forgot to mention actually , just while I'm doing this , the distance between his eyes .

So this distance , say between his pupils , it's about the same distance to his nose , approximately to the top of his nose there .

I forgot to mention that just for proportionality just there , just if any any you are wondering why your nose looks too far down or too far up .

The distance between the two eyes is the same as distance .

This distance just here approximately should have mentioned that sooner .

Sorry .

Um Right .

So the side of his face comes up here on this side as well , we bump around his jaw because like so and then we have some lines in here for like his cheeks , right ?

So coming down from the side of his eye , right ?

So we just have like a little light sort of broken hair line just here comes right down and enjoys like his cheek in there .

And then we have something pretty similar on the other side comes up around and like goes in towards the back of this eye here .

Like so , you know , just a line maybe for an eyelid just under here , there may be some lights coming down this way like so right , so then just at the top of his eye .

He might have , um , an , a sort of a bumping hairy sort of area just coming across this way as well .

Like , kind of like an eyebrow , but just sort of comes across the top of his eye like that .

Most animals have them .

It's like just the , the part of his skull that protects his eye bone .

So it's a bit raised up , you know , I think so .

So you don't , you don't have to do a continuous line to be a light line because you want these lines to stand out a bit more , you know .

Yeah , you want these ones to sort of be the thicker lines like so and then like the lines inside like kind of like here , these would be a little bit hairier scratchier .

I like that .

Ok .

So the distance from his eyes to his chin , right from here to here is about the same as the eyes to the top of the head , right ?

So from the eyes to the chin , eye level to chin level is the same as from eye level to head level just up here , right ?

So like see across here , right ?

So many years here .

So we have two ears , one is turned to the left and one is facing forward because cats are able to move their ears independently of one another .

I know crazy .

So we have one ear that's normal and one ear turned like listening to what's going on over here .

That's right .

He's looking at you and listening to other stuff .

Uh Right .

So , so we'll just , so this is like the line for the top of the head , right .

And then we have one ear just here that comes up like this way , sort of goes in to his head there , thumbs up , curves around like this kind of a crinkly sort of bumpy line comes down like that , uh , bump out and it'll join back in with his head just in here .

OK .

And then we have a line like for his head actually going up and around in into here as well , like so nice .

And then , so this line will kind of curve around here and Bob coming around this year as well going around like so , so , so this here is like facing right towards us .

So it has , we can see like right the inside of it , right ?

And there's like all hair and stuff sticking out here .

She Yeah , like so and hair growing like inside .

Yeah , thanks .

If you can add as much of that sort of stuff as you'd like , I'll leave it there .

So then this year then turn the other way , right ?

So it's like covers up like that different sort of shape and then it's going to come down like this more pointy because we can see the tip of it and then it comes down like so and it comes out like this and go down and enjoy his head down here .

And again , we have like , uh his headline .

So it comes this way , similar sort of shape for his skull coming up here and we might have some lines coming across the top as well and maybe a line down the center of his head as well .

And we'll add some hair coming off this year as well .

Yes .

And maybe like an edge line just here too .

A couple of extra bump lines just for his skull just here .

Sure .

Yes .

Some more hair lines just coming down the center here .

Maybe like another of mine just coming across another sort of brow line here .

Six .

Just trying to make this a bit more hairy up here .

Think so .

And getting there some lines on its face , maybe something in here .

Yeah .

But I think , oh whiskers , I nearly always forget the whiskers .

Ok .

So big whiskers just sticking out from here , you can do them as long as you want .

They're like really long in the picture and drawn from and I think they're , they're white or at least they're shiny in the picture .

So it's up to you .

What way you want to color it if you're doing your panther black or like a yellow one , you know , I'll probably color this black though after and I think he has some up here as well actually .

So , like just coming out of his top of his head here as well , the sort of the cats have like here , sort of sensory kind of ones just like that .

Yeah , of course .

Just thicken up this top of his headline , maybe thicken up his Earline just here just to make it stand out a bit more , maybe thicken off this a little bit , just to add some weight to the side of its head if you wanted .

Of course , you could give him a neck and stuff like that .

You could draw a neck coming down this way or like some of his back or something if he's walking towards you .

But , um , I think I'll leave it there and yeah , that's the best I can do it .
