And now I want to go to my website that I want to make Multilingual .

I go to David Corp dot com and this website is in English and I want to translate it to Dutch .

So I will show you step by step how you can do it for your website .

The first thing I want to do , I want to log in .

So I go to WP admin and I log in .

So now I'm at the back end of my website , I go to plugins at new , I click on upload and I click on choose file and I want to upload those four files .

So the first one install and I don't activate it yet because I want to add a few different plugins .

Ok .

Now I click on add new again over here at plugins , upload plug in , choose file .

And I go for the second one , I open it and I click on install now .

Then I do the same with the third , I click on add new upload plug in .

Choose a file , go to the third one open install now and the fourth one add new upload plug in , choose a file and the fourth one open and install .

Now , since we have done that I can go to plugins , I scroll down and I see four inactive plugins that start with W PM L , I select them all 1234 , I scroll up and over here at B actions I click on it and I click on activate , apply .

So I will activate all those four plugins at the same time .

Awesome .

Now I can close this .

And what I like to do in the beginning is configure W PM L .

If you don't see that you can go over here to W PM L click on it and this is the same set up .

So let's configure our W PM L plug in .

What is the main language of your website at this moment ?

Is it English ?

Is it Dutch ?

Is it Chinese ?

Well , mine is English .

So I leave it over here and then I click on next .

What other languages do you want to add to your website ?

Well , I want to add a Dutch language so I select it over here , but you can also select multiple languages .

So maybe Portuguese Romanian , but I will leave it over here at Dutch and English .

I click on next and we can also change this later .

So you can add a third language for now .

I want to have two languages .

Then we go to the third option , the language switcher option and this is what you will see .

Let me show you on your website .

Let me tell you that I use the free theme in this tutorial and the free element of page builder .

So what I said , this area will appear right from contact and we can configure that .

And before we do that , we need to choose how to handle the languages without translation .

So at this moment , nothing in our website is translated .

So at this moment , the website is English .

So if I would go to the block page and I go to a blog post and I think I want to watch this blog post in Dutch .

So I click on the Dutch flag and the question is what should happen if this page is not translated in Dutch ?

Should it skip the language ?

So stay in English or should it go back to the Dutch home page ?

So I would say skip the language .

So you will see no flag over here that there is an option for the Dutch language .

And the other option is that there is a flag .

But if you click on the flag , you go to the touch home page .

So I click on skip language and then we have the language switcher so we can configure this still .

So I click over here and you see a preview which is really nice .

I need to choose a menu .

Well , I will choose the main menu over here .

That's the only menu I have .

So I select the main menu and the position of the menu .

Do we want to have it here at the left or here at the right ?

I want to have it after the last menu item .

Do I want to have a drop down like this or a list of languages ?

So now they are next to each other .

And I prefer that what I do not like is that there is no flag and only text in the native language , native lands and in English , Dutch and also here both in the native language .

So how can we configure this even further here ?

It says what to include in the language switcher ?

Well , I like to have the flag .

People recognize it immediately that this is from the Netherlands or that this is English .

And here we see the Dutch words for Dutch , which is Netherlands and we can remove that so I can say remove the native language name .

So people will see only Dutch or English .

I think it will be better if they see their own language .

So it would say Netherlands over here instead of Dutch .

So I can turn it on and then I can turn this one off language name in current language .

So now it says Netherlands and English .

And the question is , do I want to see English when the website is already in English ?

Yes , I prefer that .

And I want to remove the native language name .

So at this moment , you only see the Dutch flag and the English flag .

And if I would say , I don't want to see the current language , that means when I'm on a Dutch page , you only see the English flag .

And when I'm on the English page , you only see the Dutch flag .

Well , I like to have both of them .

And then over here we can select the color themes , clear all colors , but it has to do with the text .

So I can say gray and then there are less options , it looks like this or we can say blue .

So there are a few things we can do if I click over here and clear all colors .

That means that I can decide which color I want to show like that .

And when I hover over it , I want it to be blue for instance , or green .

So when I hover over the current language , it becomes green .

So you can change the background .

I can show you quickly really ugly and then we can make this white and the other language .

How about purple ?

So we can do a few things over here , but I prefer not to use it .

I want to remove the name , the native language name and then we still see the backgrounds and I don't want that .

So I remove it by clicking on clear over here .

But you can play around with that if you want to , I click on save .

So awesome .

So we've configured it and I like it .

We have also the widget language Twitcher .

That means that if you have a blog post like this , you see it over here .

So you can do that , choose a widget area .

I can say the main sidebar or I can choose a widget area in the footer , which is over here .

So maybe over here about us , I think I want to play that area one as a drop down or a vertical list .

And then we can do the same things again and a flag use the native language and I turned this off like that .

We can give it a title and we can change the colors .

But I like to keep it as it is .

I click on save and it should appear over here when we have saved everything .

Do I want to show the footer language switcher in the footer ?

If I turn his arm and I save it , it would show up here below this footer .

I will turn it all on to show you how it looks .

Do I want to have links to translations of posts ?

So that means that here above in the blog post , it will say this blog is also available in Dutch .

Well , let's turn it on and I can change the text .

I want to show the flag .

Of course , remove the language name in the current language .

And then I go to languages and I paste the key over here and then I click on register and after that , I click on finish .

So now we've set up our W PM L plug in .

So let's see what happens when we refresh the page .

Come on R and now we see over here we have English and since this page is not in Dutch , there's no Dutch flag , that's also the reason why you don't see it over here and here below , we see English and here you also see English .

Well , I don't like this .

So what I can do now , I can go to widgets , then I go to foot widget area one and I can drag the language switcher over here , just release it and then it will be saved .

So right now it looks like this .

And since everything is in English also here and not in Dutch , you don't see the Dutch flag .

If I want to change the settings , we just have configured .

I can go to the back end , I can close this window now and then I scroll down and I go to languages here at W PM L .

So if I want to show the Dutch flag over here , although it's not translated in Dutch , let me show you we can do it over here and language L from .

So I go to WPL languages and then we see language switcher options and here I can say link to the home of the language for missing translation .

So if I would turn this on now , the saved if I refresh the page , you will also see the Dutch flag over here .

I think this looks beautiful .

You see it on the whole website .

If I go to contact , you see it .

If I go to a block page or to a block post , you still see it .

And if you have a menu that is sticky , you always see it also when you scroll down .

So I scroll down and you see it also over here and you see it also over here and over here .

Well , I don't want that .

So I go back uh I want to see it in the menu .

I do not want to see it in the widget so I can remove this .

What else if I screw up what you see over here ?

Depending on all the plug ins you have , you have some extra W PM L components that will help you to translate a certain theme or a certain plug in .

So here it says to easily translate YSEO , you need to add the following W PM L components .

So I click on install and we leave this as this at this moment , we can see what other plugins we can install .

So if you use Woocommerce , you can install the Woocommerce plug in .

If you use gravity forms , you can select it while I use contact form seven .

I use milk chimp .

So I select activate after download and I click on download .

So they are being installed and activated .

Then I need to do one other thing .

If I go to W PM L languages , how it works .

When I'm on the home page , I see David Corp dot com .

And when I go to the Dutch home page , it will say David Corp dot com forward slash NL which stands for Netherlands .

But we need to configure it in a way that it will be shown like this .

So how can we do that ?

I scroll down and then here at language your L format , it says language name at as a parameter and that looks like that dot com .

Question mark lang equals an L and I would like to have it like this different languages in directories , Daves Corp dot com in English and David Corp dot com forward slash N in Dutch .

And you can also use a directory for the default language , which I do not do because I think if the website is English by default , it should just be Dave Corp dot com and not YN after it , I save it .

And when I've saved it , I also need to rewrite my Perma links by clicking here .

And if you don't see this , you can go to settings Perma links and I use post name always and I click on save changes and I always say it twice .

So I click over here , save changes .

OK ?

I go back to W PM L and here it says a warmer step .

Before you can translate on elementary .

You need to enable W PM L's translation editor to translate conveniently enable it now .

So how does it work ?

Really easy ?

Everything on my website , all the images have a title , all text and below that you see every text that is in English on this page and I can translate it to Dutch manually .

Since quite a few words are the same in Dutch as they are in English .

I can click over here for instance and then it copies the text from English to the Dutch translation .

And I can also do it with everything .

So I can say copy all fields from original and I want to do that and it says some are translated already .

Do you want to only copy to the fields that are empty over here at the right or overwrite everything ?

So if you have translated 50% to Dutch already , you would like to say copy only to the empty fields .

So now I can translate it .

This word is photo , I can copy his word based over here also here .

But I loved photography , studio , photo , photo .

And when it is translated , you need to check that over here .

And I would prefer to do it all at once .

But as far as I know that it is not possible .

So that's one thing I don't like , but it is better because in that way your work more secure .

So when I've translated something photo that's like smart , I check this , copy this base .

What's that ?

Why is that ?

It has to do with the cache of your website .

You can say right mouse , click open link in incognito window .

And then we see David Corp dot com forward slash NL .

And now we see photography , name , contact , photography , film , web design and those text .

This is Dutch , this is Dutch and this is Dutch in the complete website is translated .

Well , what you see there are a few problems over here .

This is not full with here .

It says something went wrong and also this needs to be translated yet .

So those are the next steps .

But the page is translated to Dutch .

What we see over here is something we don't want .

So how can we fix that ?

We will fix a few things step by step .

I use the theme and when you translate a website , it gets this area .

How can you fix that ?

Maybe it's not related but elemental related .

What do we need to do ?

We go to all the pages or we go to the home page and we click on edit page , then we scroll down and we go to the page attributes and it says template , default template change that to element or with I click on update .

I view the page .

This looks normal in English , I go to the incognito window and I press enter over here to refresh it and now it is gone .

So that's how we can fix it .

So we need to change it in the English version , not in the Dutch version , but still over here .

Let me see there is this problem .

Why is this not showing ?

Well , since we are changing everything in the website , we also need to change other stuff than only the text .

And those are in this case , the blog post categories .

So how can we translate that ?

I go to the website to the back end .

I close this , I close this and now we can go over here to W PM L taxonomy translations .

So what are taxonomies ?

I check this .

You see it's a really short block post translation is complete .

So now 100% of our blog post is complete .

I click on save and close .

And now when I go to my Incognito area page , I refresh it .

And now you see one blog post only the image is not translated yet .

So let me see how we can fix that .

Then I go to the Dutch version and we can translate it using the translate editor from W PM L or edit it over here .

So I click on edit anyway .

And then here there's no featured image .

So I selected and I actually like this one select update .

So now I refreshed the page Anna is shown .

So it is the Dutch website .

If I go to this blog post , it is in Dutch dot com forward slash NL and then the title of the Seas and then the Dutch text and the images .

This is Dutch .

This is not Dutch yet , but we can do that and that's how it works .

So on the Dutch website , this is the only blog post we see .

Why is that ?

Because it's the only one that is translated into Dutch .

So if I go to the contact page , for instance , I still see this flag .

I don't want that .

So I want to go back to the settings of W PM L by clicking here .

I scroll down and the language switch your option .

I want to skip the language when it is not in Dutch .

So if I would go to the contact page here .

You see it is in Dutch because this page is translated in Dutch .

But if I go to contact it is gone because it's not translated .

So my goal is to translate everything in this website .

And by the way , if a visitor from a different computer goes to David Corp dot com , then it works , he does not need to use a incognito page .

But it's because I use the website before I installed W PM L .

It is something with my cash but someone from a different computer will immediately see that this is all working .

So I thought , let's tell you that what we have done here at Block and Oasis of the Seas is we manually updated a new featured image for the Dutch blog post .

Well , if we have to do that on a page with seven on the blog post , it will take a lot of time .

So how can we do that automatically ?

Right now ?

I go to the Dutch website , you still see this .

But if you want to do that automatically , which will save you a lot of time , then you can go to the back end , go to W PM L settings and then I scroll down and I see all those links and I search for media translation over here and then I scroll down .

You can check if some attachments can be duplicated to translated content .

So here it says duplicate the featured image for translated content and we need to click on start to do that .

So I will translate one more blog post .

So I go to the website block .

This one is quite short .

So I click on this one .

So I go to the back end to posts all posts .

And I want to go to Montana , click on the plus and then I copy this and I type this text really quick .

OK ?

Complete duplicate , complete , complete and then I copy this .

I paste it over here .

Translation is complete , save and close .

Now if I would go and refresh the page in Dutch , you don't see the image .

How can we fix it automatically ?

After you have created all the block posts , you can go to the back end to W PM L settings , search for media translation , click on it and click on start over here where I have selected to duplicate the featured image for translated content .

Awesome .

So now if I refresh the page , it is there .

How great is that ?

This will save you a lot of time .

So I go back to the website and right now you see two flags over here because this page is in Dutch .

And if I would go to block Montana , you also see two flags because it's in Dutch .

But if I would go to the contact page , you only see the English flag because it is not in Dutch .

So the goal is now to make everything in the website in Dutch , not only the pages , but also these areas over here .

So how can we do that ?

We can do it in the back end manually .

But I will also show you how we can do it automatically .

It will be translated automatically .

You can have up to 2000 words , be translated for you automatically .

And it is machine translating , but it's pretty good and then you can edit it yourself and save a lot of time .

So in order to do that , I go to the back end .

And the first thing I want to do , I want to activate that found translation editor .

I can do that at W PM L settings and then click over here how to translate posts and pages right now .

It says use WP MLS classic translation editor .

So until now we have translated everything ourselves using the classic translation editor .

But now I want to use the WP MS at F translation editor .

So I click here and then I click over here and then I can go to the advanced translation editor settings .

But before I do that over here , it says content that was created with the old editor , which we have done a page and a few posts , they still can use the W PM L's classic translation editor or we can say switch to the advanced translation editor , but then all translations may be unusable .

So I leave it as it is .

Then I click over here , advanced translation editor settings and I'm the only one that has access .

So if you want to assign someone else , it's really easy .

You can go to users at new and you can create a new one .

Josh , Josh , the translator at gmail dot com .

Josh , I the website doesn't matter , create a beautiful buzzword and send the user notification and this is the lowest function you can have and this is the highest function or the highest rank .

Now I go to the basket as I said before , I have 2000 words for free .

So I sent all items for translation .

So if I go to the website , incognito and I refresh the page , I should see three recent blog posts .

And if I click on it , I go to the beach in Dutch .

So if I have more words than 2000 that I want to translate , this will happen , I go to translation management and I select everything or I can filter based on not translated filter .

I select them all except for the home page and I added him .

Then I go over here and what I see with this amount , I will probably reach more than 2000 words in total .

So how can we change this information on our website ?

And I had no idea what to do .

So I went to support support forum and there I searched for Heather title appearing in translation page search .

So I click over here and here I found the solution and that's how I found out that I needed to change everything to with .
