Leads .
Here's your footwork just for your salsa basic .
When you're dancing with a partner , it looks like this .
You step forward with your left foot on the one .
You rock back onto your right foot on the two , you come through the center on three all the way through the center , not side by side .
Now , you're going to take time to go from 3 to 4 on your left foot .
1234 , you settle on to your left heel .
Now you're going to step back on your right foot 567 and then eight .
So we're taking the four and the eight to rest in the center with our feet not moving , but transferring weight basically though , you step forward with your left foot on the one and back on the three , step back on the five with your right foot and the seven .
So do this with us .
We're going to face away from the camera .
Step forward with your left foot on 156712 , rock back three and then transfer weight four again , 5671234 again , 567 left foot right foot .
The ball of the left foot , then the heel of the left foot .
Now you're going to step back with your right foot five , six .
So that's onto the left foot seven .
You come through the center transfer on eight .
We're trying to go ball heel , ball heel .
So you're going toe heel and not stepping on the heel first at any time , a little faster on the left foot 567 , left foot left foot right foot , right foot left , right left .
Transfer right left , right , transfer left , right left , right left , right transfer .
Let's do it facing this way .
567 , left , right left , transfer right left , right left , right left , transfer right left , right .
Transfer .
It's really important that you guys take that extra beat to transfer on that one .
Excuse me on the , on the three to the four and the , and the seven to the eight , try not to do this forward and back immediately onto the heel of the left foot back and then immediately forward onto the right foot because it's gonna make your basic feel choppy .
Another thing you want to try to avoid even at the beginning is stepping onto the heel of your foot as you step back on the right foot or forward on the left .
So as you step forward with the left foot , the heel of your foot is just slightly off the ground on the one on the two , you go ball flat .
That's , and two .
If you really want to break it down more , you go one and two , that's ball flat ball .
The left foot on the one N two is ball flat of the right foot .
Three .
You come back through the center and it's just the ball of the foot on the four , you transfer onto the heel , you step back onto the ball of the foot on five and six , seven and eight .
Now this pattern of ball , ball , flat , ball , flat , ball , ball , flat , ball flat is going to keep on going regardless of whether you're doing your basic step or your side breaks , same thing or basic .
