video content Image generated by Wilowrid

OK .

Looks like the stream is getting in order .

Here we go .

Hey , everybody .

Hope you're doing well .

Hope you're doing well .

Hope you're doing well .

It is Andy and you found my youtube channel and my live office hours .

It , we are in the middle of a three day in a row run and for some of you , it probably feels like we never even left .

I know .

I'm excited to get going .

Hey , Jack , folks , tell me where you're from .

Tell me how you are .

Tell me what you do .

I always love to hear about it .

I just wanna , OK , we're rolling in , we're all set .

Um I just wanna thank you again for coming .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Welcome everyone .

My name is Cassandra and I'm gonna take you through this beginner yoga sequence , which is great to build and work on flexibility , strength as well as balance .

So a well rounded flow , no props are required .

And let's begin lying down on our backs starting in Shabana , which is usually how we end classes .

Just let yourself recline fully on the floor .

You can widen your feet towards the bottom corners of the mat , turning your palms to face up towards the sky and feel your shoulders roll down and away from your ears and you might close your eyes .

And I've made it my mission in life to help people succeed in their careers .

I genuinely think it was what I was born to do and I do that through two major mediums that I've created .

The first is Mile Walk , my executive search firm , which I founded in 2004 .

It has been an absolute joy and a and a privilege to support lots of great companies across the world and wonderful individuals who we help secure jobs .

And also more recently in 2016 , the Mile Walk Academy , which is my online training and coaching site where I , I teach on all things careers related and personal development for individuals .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I also have a very popular top fives career site blog called Tips for Work and Life So I hope you check all that stuff out the links to the blog , the links to the training site , my contact information , my entire social platform , all that good stuff is in the description so you can access that at any time or now or or later when , when , when I release the recording of this .

Also in the description , I have loads of nice giveaways today .

Let me run you through them really quick .

Just so you know what's there and how it can support you .

The first one is a wonderful workbook .

It is my 10 by 10 job search formula .

It's , it's , it's multiple things .

It's , it's a , it's an assessment tool so you can take this neat little assessment to gauge the overall health of your job search and see which areas you're doing .

Well , see which areas you might need to pick up .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

We're using this first pose as a way to really connect to our breath throughout practice .

See if you can breathe in and out through your nose and feel that breath travel all the way down to your lower belly so that you feel your belly expand as you inhale .

And on the exhale , you want to feel your belly button as if it's dropping down towards the floor , really letting all of the air out and we want to get our inhale to be just as long as the exhale .

So let's take five breaths here were you inhale , maybe counting up to five and exhale for that same count .

Really working on the engagement of your belly through this breath .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So let's inhale 12 , 345 .

Exhale 54321 .

Take a few more at your own pace .

Relax your facial muscles , your shoulders , your neck .

I know let's reach our arms up over head .

Get a great big stretch .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So if you were just waking up in the morning , pull your right knee in towards your belly , you can hold on to the back of your thigh or the front of your shin and length and out through your left leg , push into your left heel and draw both shoulder blades down your back .

Notice where you feel this pose , take a few ankle rolls with your right foot .

See if you can also flex and point through your toes and I'll bring your hands interlaced behind the back of your thigh and we're just going to straighten that leg any amount .

So it's early morning for me when I'm filming this .

So my muscles body is feeling a little tight .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So we are not curling or lifting head and shoulders off the mat and let's bring both feet flat on the floor with your knees bent , coming up into our bridge pose , set to Banda Savan goa .

So with your feet hip , with the sense you almost want to be able to touch your heels .

So get your heels in pretty close , but do not widen your feet as you do this align your sit bones with your heels , shrug your shoulders down and away from your ears , push into your feet and curl to lift your hips , your low back and your mid back off the floor .

And just tiny little pulses .

Think of squeezing through your inner thighs and squeezing as if your knees were coming together .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Keep pulse , pulse , pulse , pulse , take a few more like this really engaging through the inner leg , squeezing into your glutes to lift your hips up even higher for 54321 and lower down , bring the soles of your feet together , let your knees fall apart and bring both hands to your lower belly .

Here take a few moments in this reclined butterfly pose soup about a and come back to that same breath rhythm you had when we first began practice and breathe all the way under your palms .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So you should be able to feel your belly rise and as you exhale , feel it sink it back down towards the floor , letting all of the air out and let's straighten the arms up over head , straighten your legs .

Big stretch here again .

And we'll do that sequence on the second side .

So now pull your left knee in towards your belly , keep your right leg extended and reach into that right heel as if you're pushing it into the floor .

And at the same time , you're drawing that left thigh and closer towards your chest and maybe take those same little ankle rolls with your left foot flexing and pointing your toes .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Noticing if there's any tension here in the extremities , relax your shoulders and we'll hold on to the back of our thigh this time and start to straighten the leg any amount .

So try not to judge how far you're getting into this one .

As long as you're feeling a pole behind the back of your leg , you're doing the pose perfectly .

Once you have the range that you're looking for flex your foot , as much as you can push it into your heel .

You might feel this a lot in the back of your ankle and into your calf , curl your toeses back towards your shin .

Now , go ahead and point your toes as much as you can reach .

We come to reclined pigeon poses .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I'm going to switch over here to a presentation .

There we go .

And here's what I was talking about .

The whats .

So let me just walt you through when you're thinking about what you want to say , not just how you want to say it .

What do you want to talk about ?

This is a big honking deal because the richness in the whats is also a critical component , not just how you articulate it , but what you're actually talking about the substance .

So let me walk you through this .

I have what I consider to be eight great topics that you should focus on .

These are like um the super duper most attractive topics that an employer wants to hear about and everything , everything that you do .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Start to bend your right knee .

You're gonna cross your left ankle over the top of that knee and reach through to pull your right thigh in towards your belly , maybe rocking a little bit side to side again .

Relax , head and shoulders .

Right now , we are primarily focusing on our lower body .

Don't worry , we'll get to our upper body soon enough and let's release for coming back into that bridge pose .

So feet again , our hippo this apart , roll your shoulders down and away from your ears .

Push into your heels and squeeze to lift your pelvis up , push down into your big toes and find those same little thigh squeezes here .

So little pulses and you're trying to lengthen and flatten your lower back , soften your shoulders .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And now just go ahead and roll over onto one side , push your hands into the floor to lift up and come to take a seat sitting in any way that is comfortable for you here just to lengthen up through your chest and let your head drop down .

So you're towards one shoulder , we're just gonna take a little half moon circles just stretching into your neck , lifting up and keep going , try not to round or contract with your spine here .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

You're keeping it nice and tall one more on each side and lift your head all the way back up through to center .

So eagle arms , bring your elbows out in front of you bent at the 90 degree angle and you're either going to just wrap your right shoulder or right elbow under one .

Maybe you also bind and wrap through your wrists and palms .

If none of them really work , you can just reach back and hold on to your shoulder blades .

So whichever variation you'd like here , think of pressing your shoulders down , keeping your elbows up and move your hands away from your face .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

You might choose to stay here or you can add on by tucking your chin towards your chest as if you were going to rest your forehead on your biceps and he'll open up and expand and we'll go to the other side right away .

This time , left arm under the right binding , once or twice or just reaching back as far as you can shoulders down , elbows , up , hands , move away from you and maybe tuck your chin down and he'll open it up and expand .

Uh Let's release , go ahead and open your legs out into a straddle .

It really does not need to be open wide .

If this is more what you're doing , that's perfectly fine .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Exhale , release in hell and exhale .

Push into your fingertips and knuckles .

Try to keep the weight out of your wrists last cycle , inhale , open your heart , exhale around through your upper back .

Now come to a neutral tabletop hose .

This is a core strengthening posture .

You really want to feel your abdominal squeeze and engage , bring your right hand behind the back of your head and keep that elbow lifted as you inhale .

See if you can open out to the side and then exhale , come back to face the floor .

You're not gonna move all that much .

This is quite a challenging movement .

Inhale .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

See if you can lift that elbow up and exhale , bring it back down , try not to move the left elbow , too much .

Inhale and exhale one more like this .

Inhale , reach and exhale to release .

Walk both hands out in front of you melt your heart and your chest down into your puppy pose on a so you're keeping your hips lifted high over the top of your knees , try to keep your elbows lifted off the floor as you push into your hands .

So it's almost like we're trying to press our shoulders down to the mat and I bend your elbows so they can rest on the floor and shift all the way forward onto your belly into your Sphinx pose .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So a little bit of a back bend here as you broaden and open through your heart , press your shoulders back , chin parallel to the floor and release full down tabletop hose , push back nice and strong tabletop stances .

Let's bring our left hand behind our head this time as you inhale , open and lift your elbow up .

Exhale , bring it back parallel to the ground .

A few more like this .

I might feel easier on one side than the other .

That's very normal .

Try not to bend your right elbow one more and exhale .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And this time , let's come into a wide , like a child's pose , big toes together , knees as far away as you would like , press your hips towards your heels and sink down .

It's OK .

A big inner thigh stretch , slide your shoulder blades down your back .

Now , notice how far away you have your hands from your feet .

We're gonna come into our downward dog next AAA .

And this distance that we have between hands and feet is pretty much the distance we want to keep in our down dog .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Here's the sample increased contract sales by 100 and 18% from 328,000 to 718,000 during a two year span by developing a regional con contract program for fast moving drugs .

Love .

That gave me a little more context which allowed the program managers to grow the number of their targeted accounts by 32% from 75 to 99 .

So let's decompose this .

Let's decompose this .

What was the benefit ?

Boom up front .

He did not bury the lead .

Tell me the most important piece of information up front .

I wanna know what the impact is that you had and the value , think value .

What was the value I contributed ?

Not what did I do ?

What value did I contribute ?

Your value is what sets you apart from everybody else who is qualified to do that activity ?

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So you can start to lift yourself up , bring your knees in , you'll want to have your hands shoulder with distance apart , fingertips spreading wide , tuck your toes under so that your feet are hip with distance apart .

And then you can ease your way up as you curl and lift your hips up towards the sky .

If the hamstrings , the calves , the ankles are really tight , it's so normal for your heels to not touch the floor .

Please don't worry about that .

Instead , I want you to focus on lengthening your arms and finding lots of space along your spine curl your tailbone up towards the sky and draw your lower belly in .

Stay strong in the pose or not here for much longer .

Push into your heels and we're just going to step our feet forward to the top of the mat .

Take as many little steps as you need , coming into our UO or rag doll forward .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Fold your feet might need to go a little bit wider than your hips .

Bend your knees as much as you'd like and just hold on to your upper arms or your elbows and maybe sway a little bit side to side and release your hands down to the floor , bend your knees generously and feel your heels push into the ground as you roll all the way up , inch by inch .

Head and shoulders are the last to make their way up .

We're gonna come into rickshaw and a tree pose .

You're going to lean on your right leg and bring your left foot somewhere along the inside of that leg .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Think of lengthening up growing even taller with this one , one more big breath and go ahead and step your left foot back behind you maybe about like 3 ft or so .

And you want your left foot to be at a 45 degree angle , your feet are about hip with distance apart .

So you're like on two train tracks , instead of being on a tight rope with your hands on your hips , square your pelvis forward .

So both hip bones are facing the front of your map as you inhale , lift and lengthen and just start to tip and hover a little bit .

The lower you go down , the more you're gonna notice that your left hip starts to open up to the side , even if you're very advanced in your practice and very flexible .

It's just uh something normal that we have to be very aware of .

We're trying to square the hips forward , push into your heels , inhale , come all the way back up .

We're gonna do that two more times .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

You're bending into your front knee and you might just wiggle the back toes a little bit so that you have your right knee on top of your ankle .

Left hand grounds to the floor underneath your shoulder .

Right arm reaches up to the sky really open up here , reaching one hand away from the other and let's bring that right hand down , lower your balcony to the floor on JAA your lunch , push into the feet as you lift on up .

So notice how I'm not sinking my hips as far as they can go .

I'm staying a little bit higher so I can lengthen my tailbone down and engage through my lower belly .

Think of lifting and stretching out of your lower back .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And let's bring our hands down to frame the front foot , tuck your back toes under to lift your back knee off the ma plank pose strong through your core here , reach the crown of your head forward .

Let's bring our knees down first and then lower all the way to your belly with your toes pointed back , lift up , little cobra , elbows are bent and hugging in open through your chest .

Exhale , release downward facing dog .

So try to keep this distance as you press back super strong through your shoulders and arms , tucking your toeses under and lifting your hips up and back .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And just notice if maybe your heels feel a tiny bit closer towards the floor , maybe this pose is a little bit more comfortable the second time around , relax your head and we walk our feet forward to that rag doll fold again .

Just like what we did before .

Keep your feet fairly wide .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Whatever feels the best to you here , we're trying to squeeze that right in the open and try not to push your left hip out , really hug it in .

You're squeezing through the center in order to lift up even taller hands at your heart .

And I know this is hard but try not to dig your toes into the floor .

We're trying to strengthen the arches of our feet by pushing down into all four corners rather than relying on our toes to hold us in place .

It doesn't actually make it easier lifting up tall , slow , steady breaths , hands to your hips .

We're gonna find that pyramid pose .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Step your right foot back about 3 ft or so .

So you want your feet hip with distance apart , left toes , point forward , back , foot just turned out a little bit 45 degree angle or so square your hips forward .

Inhale , lengthen up , exhale , tilt and hold when you're about halfway or parallel to the floor .

Try not to round your spine here .

Push into your feet to lift all the way up .

Super strong .

Exhale , same thing .

Dive forward .

Notice what's happening with your right hip , squeeze it in , push and rise on it .

Last one , let's tilt all the way forward and you might choose to stay up nice and high or you can go deeper into your stretch by folding down fingertips maybe down to the mat or holding onto your calf .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Hm .

Try to release any lingering tension from your neck and shoulders will start to bend into our front knee so we can come into our lunch , just wiggle your back toes a little bit so that you have your left knee on top of your ankle .

Let your right hand stay on the floor underneath your right shoulder , left arm reaches up towards the sky , push into your big left toe .

So it's not rolling out into our low lunch , bring the left fingertips down , ane comes down to the floor push in order to lift up .

So tailbone reaches down , engage and squeeze through your abdominals .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

As you lift your arms , up , hands come down to the mat .

We're finding our plank post from here .

So frame the front foot and step your left foot back to meet the right length and out knees come down first , lower all the way to your belly and a cobra pose , roll your shoulders back , keep your elbows bent and hugging in exhale .

Release our last downward facing dog , push it back , tuck your toes under and lift your hips up and back .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So for this last one , notice if there's a little bit more space created what might feel different for you and we'll bring our knees down to the floor .

Take a child's pose , bolo you might want to keep your knees closer in for this one and reach your arms back instead of forward , slowing down your breath and slowing down your heart rate .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

We wanna start winding things down and come all the way up , bring your legs out in front of you .

We'll take a little seated twist before we really close things off .

So you can bend your right knee and cross your right foot over the top of your left thigh and you can just kind of hug your right leg with your left arm .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Right hand back behind you open into your twist , think of lengthening your spine , reaching the crown of your head up towards the sky and release , facing forward , switching sides , right leg is straight .

This time , bend your left knee cross that left foot over , hug your left leg with your right arm and use your left hand behind you for support .

You can pull your lower belly in and lift it up as a way to twist a little deeper and let it go .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Don't , and don't use internal company jargon , try to neutralize the words and make them universal so that anybody who's reading it should be able to understand what you're talking about .

So folks , uh and , and one last one try to keep the tenses straight .

So if it's your current job , then say , you know , this is my current job and talk in the present tense .

So this is what I'm currently doing and even if it's your current job , but your uh your current capacity , but you're no longer doing it , you can move it to the past tense , but everything that's not in your current job should be past tense unless you are currently doing something .

So if you're volunteering or anything or anything of that nature , you can make it , you can make it into uh into the present tense .

So let me just uh let me flip over .

OK .

So this is kind of the , uh I'm wrapping the instruction portion of this .

I hope this was illustrative .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Let's take one last pose here .

Butterfly bono and the soles of the feet together , knees apart .

But this time we fold forward .

I like to turn my palms to face up by making this a very passive forward fold .

So not using a lot of strength or effort , just relaxing into it , letting gravity do the work for you , walk your hands in curling back up .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

We're gonna lower all the way down onto our backs and you can pull your knees and towards your belly , widen them out , maybe rock a little bit side to side , massaging your low back and we'll close this class coming into the same pose we did at the beginning in open up through your legs , through your arms , palms , facing up to the skyy , close your eyes and just breathe in any way that is natural and intuitive , not trying to force or alter it .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Simply notice how you feel , noticing the effects of your practice on your body on your mind and just on how you feel in general , we'll be here for about two minutes .

Please let yourself relax .

Don't rush out of this .

It really is the most important pose of our practice .

It gives your body the opportunity to really process and integrate all of the work you've done .

So even if it feels like you're not doing anything , I promise you , you are doing a lot .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

2000.609 --> 2098.11

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Take a seat in any way that is comfortable and joining your palms at your heart , close your eyes .

We close this yoga class with one chant of o we inhale to chant big breath in .

Oh , I must stay .

Thank you so much for doing this beginner yoga practice with me .

I really would love to hear from you .

Please leave me a comment down below .

Let me know how this class went and I'll be sure to post a link to my beginner yoga playlist .

I have many other classes that you might want to try .

If you'd like to stay a little longer on your mat , you could do this short meditation right here .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Please subscribe and hopefully , I will practice again with you very soon and I must stay .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Then we're gonna get to all your questions .

I get a lot of emails from people who say Andy , I love that .

I found you .

I wish I would have found you sooner .

I've really been struggling .

I've been applying for jobs .

I'm not successful so on and so forth .

I invested in so and so's program and I already spent $300.90 so I invest , actually , I got one the other day .

I spent $97 in so and so's resume program and it's stunk .

So I don't have a lot of money and I'm a little gun shy so I don't want to buy anything , but I really appreciate all your free stuff .

So wish me luck .

Well , if you're one of those people , if you're one of those people , I will because I care so much about helping you and I want you to be successful and I don't want you to be gun shy .

And I want you to remember , I have a money back guarantee 100% .

I will actually give you a credit .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So think of it as a refund , think of it as me refunding another trainer's dollars you spent with another trainer .

If you've purchased from another trainer in the last two months .

And you just let me know how much you paid .

Send me the receipt I invested in .

So , and so's resume program .

Here's the $97 receipt .

I will give you the $97 toward the boot camp .

And I , and if you've invested more , more than that , I will go up to $200 .

So if you bought , you bought a program , I talked , I talked to somebody today , spent $600 on an interview coach .

It wasn't working .

I said , ok , you can have a $200 credit and the boot camp cost you 2 97 .

So I wanted , I want you to know that offer is good until Tuesday , January 16th when I , when I , when this deal runs out .

But if you enroll , if you enroll today for $497 meaning you pay the , you pay the offer that's currently on the table until next Tuesday .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

If you pay the 4 97 you can have a 30 minute coaching call with me .

Go through whatever you want .

You can , you can focus on whatever you want .

It could be general , it could be very specific .

You pick my brain , you ask me about anything , talk about motivational stuff if you want , but I will , I will , I will offer that to you .

So you can't kind of mix and match the discounts and the bonuses .

But if you enroll for 4 97 or you're or you're an existing student and you and you trade up , then you can have my 30 minute coaching call for free with me .

But that offer expires when we stop streaming today and I'll give you a two minute heads up .

But if you want to enroll , go to the description of this , of this session and in the description is my jam search , boot camp link , that web page that I was just on , just go to it , click it and enroll .

We'll see the time stamp .

We'll know if you , if you jump during the session , but I would love to help you .

I love , I love talking to people .

I love doing this directly .

I obviously , I can't talk to every single person , but I just figured , you know what ?

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

You are investing your time and energy with me .

I appreciate it .

I value that you're part of my community .

I wanna try to do something nice and extra .

So that offer is on the table until we hang up .

All right , there's still a whole bunch of you .

Now , let's go to the chat .

All right , Jack Kara is here .

Kara is always here and has my back .

Wait , there's Jack Henry , Jack Fountain , Ronald Casper .

He's back .

Mom is here .

Even my mom attends these things , folks .

So be nice .

Jeff Brew Thomas Seymour dental photography made easy .

Not sure you got a handsome picture there though .

Joe Caitlin .

Is that DLDL ?

Lucky hamburger is back .

Chin May Rachel , Rachel Knapp .

How you doing , Rachel ?

I hope you're doing great .

Merv Derek Brad .

Oh my God .

Lindsay an El Elaine Don .

I love it .

Huntington Beach .

You're by my family , Randall mcmillan , Donna Derek .

So , oh my God , you guys are great .

All right .

Hang on .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Let me see if I can find a , well , Kansas City , Beaverton , Philadelphia , Arizona , Michigan , Long Beach , Manhattan , Chicago .

Somebody else is here with me enjoying this 50 degree weather .

New Jersey , Denver , Washington .

Oh my God , you guys are great .

Got any out of the country man .

We had so many , we had a ton out of the co oh , wait , we got Qatar there .

This is great .

All right .

So I , I see .

Hang on .

Let me see .

I , I know you probably you early ones didn't get the note up .

There we go , Sean .

All right , Kara .

Give me a hit me with the slack .

Let me know if Sean is the first is the first question says , hi , Andy .

I love your work .

Thank you , buddy .

I appreciate that .

I had a second interview in person .

First was the phone interview last week , Friday .

So , ok , so six days ago , I'm wondering about the decision from the employer .

How long should I wait ?

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And should I , and should I approach Sean ?

Number one ?

Thank you for starting us off .

And that is a fantastic question .

You guys , actually , you guys come up with some darn good questions and yesterday was great and today I would expect nothing less .

So folks , Sean's got a great one here .

You should follow up .

I wanna extend Sean's question , not only to the interviews but to your resume .

Submits .

Let's go back a step .

Let's just say you submit your resume and you throw it into an A TS or you email it to a person who says to send it or you email it to a general email box like recruiting at company XYZ .

Excuse me , seven calendar days , seven calendar days from the time you submit to the time you follow up for your resume .

That's a good one a week is plenty of time to wait .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I that's some folks won't get to him that quickly .

That's ok .

You're just following up , just want to know if there's any uh disposition on that .

If you go in for an interview , that's a little different .

So if you go into an interview , one of a couple things is gonna happen , you're gonna finish now , Sean's case and whether this is on the phone or whether this is in person .

Um Sean , one of the things you didn't mention , but the , but this is important is did the employer say we will get back to you by ?

So a lot of times what will happen is they'll say is great meeting you .

We'll get back to you soon .

Or is great meeting you .

We'll get back to you .

We have some other candidates that we want to interview or we will get back to you by Friday .

We will get back to you by whenever .

So here's what I do .

If there is no response , meaning , hey , it's great .

We're gonna get back to you .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Then I wait seven days , seven calendar days and then you email your contact , whether it's a recruiter , the hiring official , whoever , hey , just checking in .

I want to express my interest by the way , one other thing for those of you who do not have my winning .

Thank you template after every single interview after every single interview , send that thank you template .

Fill it in .

Send it off immediately within 24 hours .

Then they might respond .

They might not if they have if they don't wait seven days and then email them something casual .

Uh but , but , but , but professional .

Hey , I , hey , so and so I just wanted to follow up .

I really enjoyed the interviews .

I'm continue to be excited about the opportunity .

I was wondering if you've made any determination about next steps .

That's it just short and quick seven days .

Ok ?

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

If they tell you , we will get back to you by Wednesday .

They give you a specific day and we all know this happens , folks , they don't honor their word .

The word apparently is not their bond .

They don't get back to you by Wednesday .

In my opinion , a company that says I will get back to you by Wednesday should get back to you by Wednesday .

No matter what meaning .

If they don't have an answer , they should get back to you by Wednesday and say we have not decided yet .

Fine .

You at least responded .

But if they say we will get back to you by this date , then what I would do is I would wait two days after the date that they specify .

So if they say Wednesday , you don't hear from them on Friday , Friday morning's fine .

Email them that and say , hey , just wanted to check in .

I know you mentioned , I'm excited all that stuff and I know you mentioned Wednesday .

It's been a couple extra days .

I thought I would check , check in if they say we will get back to you in a week or so .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Now they're being vague .

So I will get back to you in a week or so .

If they say a week or so , you take them at whatever they said or two weeks or whatever and then you wait 23 days and then you email them .

So I think I covered it .

All the answer is I gave you how long you should wait depending on what they tell you and you should approach it .

So I hope that helps Sean .

Awesome question Ryan .

Good to see you Lindsay .

When are we getting started ?

Are we uh hopefully you were on .

Sorry , I'm late Peter's back , Peter .

Thank you for the linkedin invite .

That was wonderful .

By the way , if you folks are not subscribed to my youtube channel , I hope you will subscribe .

And if you like what we're doing here , give me a , like a comment and a share .

And if you are on linkedin , connect up with me .

I love having connections and you are nice , wonderful people .

And as long as you're nice and professional , I'm happy to help you and , and you can leverage my network .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I am very well connected and you're welcome to do that .

But on youtube , make sure you're subscribed so you can get my , my , my alerts and we can , you know , do these things for you .

I've got video series and other things on youtube that I don't have on my blog and always comment , share and so on .

All right , let me see .

Uh Derek profession done .

Derek .

I'm not sure what that is .

Robert .

Robert .

Good to see you , buddy .

All right , Ryan dental photography made easy .

Is that Dennis R I think you guys are talking to each other , which I like .

Uh I hopefully the sound is working .

I'm all muted so we don't have any echoes .

So I need , I need somebody to tell me if the sound is not working .

Let me see .

I'm just buzzing through down is in sales .

I love that Jack Fountain .

Jack Fountain is talking to Sean here .

I love this .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Jack's got a great point .

So Sean was asking how long he should wait to follow up .

But one thing you should always do is say , say , I'm , I'm excited .

What's the next steps ?

Uh When can I , when do I expect to hear back from you ?

What would the next steps be and so on ?

So , so Jack is suggesting that Jack , I wholeheartedly agree .

That's great stuff .

Ronald Casper .

How many bullets are required to get through the A TS ?

So on applicant tracking systems , folks , applicant tracking systems are not nearly as smart as you think .

They are .

A lot of uh a lot of times they are blowing you out and you're not getting seen for technical errors that have nothing to do with the format of your resume or how many bullet points you have a applicant tracking systems are looking for words , they don't care if they're in bullet form or they're in paragraph form .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So it's not about how many bullets are required it's about and Ronald and for everybody else .

And I know we mentioned this and I , I always seem to get this asked on my , on my live webinars and my coaching calls .

But one thing I always recommend for the applicant tracking system , aside from the fact that it should be the last resort , there's many better techniques that you can use to get your resume in front of the people you need to .

But if you do need to submit your resume into the applicant track tracking system , I would recommend highly that you use a site like jab scan dot co .

So it's Jo Bs Can dot co and take your uh resume .

I think it's like word format , take the job description and if it's , you know , either download it or put it in a word doc send it in or maybe you just send in the plain text .

I'm not all that familiar with the site .

I just know that I've checked it out a few times but , but a lot of my students and people on my webinars use it with great success .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

It'll give you an uh an indication of how aligned your resume is to the job description that you've put in .

And then what I would do is I would look to see if uh if you can get that , uh you know , get that a little bit more in alignment .

So I hope that helps Marco .

Good to see you .

Let me see , Andy .

Do you ?

Uh I think that's , do you think experience international ?

It's a good bullet point to put in a resume ?

I'm uh I'm think , I , I think what you mean is international experience .

Yes , I do think that is .

And especially if you're looking to move your location , right ?

If you're , if you're in Europe and we have a lot of people , I have a lot , I have people in every inhabited content , uh con con con continents uh that are out there uh that use our , our same uh formula for the resume , every inhabited continent uh who use the , the format , the resume format that , that I have is part of , of our uh of coaching .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

They're having great luck with it .

And a lot of them want to move to different countries , whether it's in Europe or whether they're moving to the US or whatever .

But if you have international experience , whether you're inside the US or uh going out or whether you just want to show that you're , you're a global uh uh your your experience globally or whether you want to move .

Yeah , I think it's a great idea .

I do think it's a great idea that in and of itself is a story and can be a differentiator .

OK , let me see .

Being an entry level software develop developer , what kind of revenue generated values can I mention in the resume ?

Well , actually , uh you , you might not have any revenue generated activities .

Those eight that I was showing are just an idea of the of eight great ones that employers tend to love .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But a lot of times , entry level software developers are developing software that's optimizing processes or making technologies more efficient .

I would be talking about process efficiency , uh technology efficiency .

There might be cost reduction , uh things that you are doing , you might be developing software that is making somebody else's job easier .

That is cost reduction .

That is process optimization .

I would , I would think you as an entry level , you're probably a little bit more geared towards some of those other uh of the grade eight .

So not necessarily revenue generated , you , it could be revenue generated .

If you created a webpage that people were using to buy things , you might , you know , it might be , I created a page website that's used to buy a million dollars worth of my company's products that's revenue generation .

So there's , there's , it depends on how you look at it .

Uh But you don't need to hit all of those .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So that was just trying to give you an idea .

Um Do you suggest bullets and columns ?

That's Nelson .

Um I , I do not .

Uh I do not , I , I keep the resume clean and as Murphy Nelson , if you don't have it , if you don't have it , uh take the resume template .

Um Folks just so you understand the resume template is in , in a PDF because it is downloaded from the internet and I'm sending it to you and it's safer and it just , it's , it's the way I designed it .

All you need to do is is grab it and copy it out and put it into a word document .

But I would , I would check that , I would check that out and I would use that format .

That is what I recommend .

It gets great results high .

I have a thou , I mean , I have thousands of emails from people who use that and tell me that it transformed the number of interviews that they got .

Some of them was going on .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

A TS , some of them were going directly via email , but they said they saw a precipitous uptick .

I would highly recommend using that format .

Do not put the bullets in columns .

As a mere fact , I'm not a fan of columns of any kind in the resume .

It , it , it really doesn't do you any favors from a real estate standpoint ?

All right .

Uh Nelson again , I think you have another question there .

Employees happiness .

Do you associate numbers with that or just say that with words ?

Well , how have the employees , uh how are , are the employees happier ?

Is there anything that you can do to quantify uh in some illustrated fashion that the employees are happier ?

Not Nelson ?

I don't know what your job is and forgive me if you said it and I missed it .

But if you're an hr person or you're in recruitment , your employee happiness scores that your company should be serving for are numbers .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Did you raise them from 3.0 to 3.5 or from 4.0 to 4.5 or something of that nature ?

Do you have employees who you are doing something that is helping them get promoted ?

Is there some vehicle that you can point to um about , about the numbers .

There's many different ways to quantify employee happiness .

But I would , I would look to see what kind of position you're in to uh to determine what those numbers should be .

And many of you can quantify these things .

It might be an indirect quantification .

But you can make the association , the most important thing about what you put on your resume is that you can back it up .

And when I say back it up , you don't need to give me the algorithm of how you commuted , uh computed the fact that you know , the number went from this to that .

But in your , in the stories and the responses that you tell me , you better make me believe you that you could do that .

That's the most important thing .

What I mean about substantiation , Ryan , good to see you again , buddy .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

A TS usually have it split up per job .

How do you integrate the career profile highlights into a at into an A TS form with that design , repeat the profile on each position or just most recent ?

For example .

So ETS s are a bit different .

Sometimes they just want you to attach a resume , sometimes they have sections and they say work experience this job , put it in .

Uh So what I would do is I would probably take either pieces of your career profile , the ones that are most appropriate for that particular section .

And I would put it , I would put it there in that job , once you get the profile in and you get the highlights in .

If , if , if you can do it that way you'll be ok .

Uh That's ok .

The applicant tracking system is also likely looking at an attached resume to create a score .

So , so I hope , I hope that helps .

I don't , I don't uh you know , everyone's a little bit different .

All right .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Uh Kim is asking never address us and add an executive assistant assistance .

I'm not sure Kim , are you asking that ?

I didn't address that as a sample or um I'm not sure , but executive assistants have loads of things that they do that can be quantified .

So , uh if you , I'm not sure what you mean , but ask uh ask me that again here .

So all your numbers are in bullet section .

So Nelson , um that's a statement , but I I do want to comment about this .

If you take a look at the resume template , there is a and , and Ryan just , Ryan just mentioned this .

There is a career profile section which is an aggregation of your work history .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

They , there should be numbers up there and then there's a highlights section which is 34 at the most very specific highlights that you did or performed in your work life .

They should be up at the top .

Those should also have numbers in them .

If you can quantify things , the more you can quantify the better .

But I would put it all the way throughout and every bullet , if you can quantify every bullet do doesn't need to be quantified .

It's just , I'm trying to give you the formula so that you can write the perfect bullet .

And trust me , the resume is this wide , a lot of those bullets only take up two lines .

So , so keep , keep that in mind because they saw some questions in here about the length of the bullet .

I don't think I've gotten them yet .

All right , Peter , how do you quantify the money value aspect in your book ?

If you don't have the figures , you estimate it .

Uh Peter , I would take my best guess .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Uh I , I honestly would , I honestly would , I would think back to , you know , if I'm managing a project and I didn't remember the budget and I would try to think , well , how many people for how long and what's the average cost and so on and so forth .

I mean , I would , I would literally take a good guess and if there's anybody back at , at uh that you've worked with where you can collect some of that data , that's what I would do .

But I would do my best to try to get figures in there , especially if it's the type of bullet that should have figures .

So especially if you did cost reduction , you saved the company , you reduce something you generated revenue , those kind of things , right ?

Dental photography .

Made easy .

The question generated over 400 million in revenue in multiple markets , outstanding outperformed revenue goals earning 12 IBM .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Uh to IBM , the company , I'm assuming 100% club drove territory growth up to 60% .

I'm not sure what the question is .

Hit me again .

OK , Jeff Brew , good to see you .

Dental , photography , made easy negotiated , key vendor relationships , maximizing solution value speaker Rocky Mountain Dental Convention .

I'm not sure .

Are you asking me to critique the bullet or ?

I'm not sure what your your question is .

I'm going on .

Um Let me see if I Chin May is asking , uh aren't such bullet points long for one page resumes ?

Well , first off , I don't know if your resume has to it .

Your resume does not have to be one page as a matter of fact , your resume in my opinion .

And I think you would find a lot of um so-called experts agree with this .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

You can have a two page resume .

I don't know how long you've been working , but if you have a one page resume , it likely means you don't have a lot of work experience .

Anybody who's been working for five years can have a two page resume .

And so so no , I don't think the bullets are , are too long .

I really don't .

And I'm telling you this is the formula we use in the resume workshop and in the boot camp and these people are getting results .

So Um , so I wouldn't , I wouldn't be too , uh , too concerned .

I see the bullets are huge .

Uh Yes .

Can a bullet be too long ?

Yes , a bullet can be too long .

So figure out is there a way for you to trim it ?

So how can you say what you want to say in as few words as possible ?

All right .

Um , minor bit .

But OK .

Come on .

Don't beat yourself up , Peter .

Wait , this is a good one .

Peter is noting here , there are some good websites for action verbs for resume .

That's cool .

That's cool .

I like it .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

All right .

Dental photography .

Again , these seven point concept tips are great .

How does this mess uh methodology differ from skill bullets ?

Actually , um When you say skill bullets , I think that when you put a bullet together , that tells a story , it should connotate the skills that you have .

Now if you're talking about hard core skills , like I , I know you're in , you must be in the the dental field .

But for technologists who have a tech analogies that they develop software in and you're listing , I'm skilled in this programming language or that software product and so on , you list them , you can put them in a skill section .

You can actually put some of those in your career profile .

But um if you give me an example of and I'm gonna see if I can find it because you were listing some stuff .

I mean , you obviously generated over 400 million in revenue .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So you're selling , you , you have sales skills .

So what I do is I'm not huge on just listing skill bullets .

Uh in the career profile , I would indicate what your core competencies are and selling and growing accounts and those kind of things are core competencies , core competencies .

Folks are about business functions and that you understand and have done and specific skills that you have .

It is they are not about opinions .

Like I'm a good leader or I'm detail oriented or I'm a self starter .

Those are characteristics , traits and they happen to be opinions that have no place in a resume .

Take them all out .

I literally would read every word in your resume and take all those out .

Take all the ones that say various many and all that and replace them with numbers .

OK ?

Um Great tips .

This has been useful .

Great glad you like it .

Are there sample templates ?

Yes , you can download those .

OK .

Lucky hamburger .

Good to see you again .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

If I apply for engineering jobs , can I write using what kinds of method to do a certain project like fin oh Finite Element analysis will hr think that something very alien and hard to understand if it's Finite element analysis ?

That to me explains what it is .

If the hr person doesn't understand that um in , in your particular case , that's OK .

I mean , they've got to understand that that is a very specific technique or analysis .

So I , I'm ok with that .

I'm , I'm ok with that .

All right , Robert Tatum , question .

The information that you gave helps a whole lot .

Great .

I'm glad , glad to hear it just to clarify no more than three targeted bullets using this structure for each job recommended , correct ?

Ok .

So what Robert's asking is , are there no more than three , should there be no more than three bullets per job ?

So , I don't have , I don't have a hard and fast rule .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I'd like to answer this a little bit differently because everybody's situation is a little different .

You might be somebody who's been in a company for 20 years and you were in the same job for 10 .

Ok .

Well , that might take a little longer to explain if you only held this position for a year , that might , that might be a little different .

Here's how I would structure the resume from a flow standpoint , your most recent job .

And here again , there's many variations of this because it depends on your tenure .

How long you were at this job ?

Whether or not you would like to continue in that field .

You know , we get that one a lot .

Hey , you know , II , I used to do what I really liked .

I'm not doing it anymore .

I want to get back to it .

So there's many variations of this , but I'm gonna give you a general um , outline here .

The current job should have the most information .

The next job should have the next most information , the next job and so on , the further away you get from today , the less information and less real estate you ought to take up on the resume .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So when you get way back , you know , if you're a 20 year vet and you're talking 20 years ago , it should be very thin on my resume .

For example , this is something we talk about in the , in the program , in the resume workshop .

My first job was 10 years long .

So I worked for a consulting firm , uh was Anderson consulting .

It's now accenture and I did a whole lot of things .

I started out as a developer .

I was a software uh person , I designed programs .

I managed projects , I started selling them , managing accounts and so on managing tons of people and lots of revenue .

It literally , I have one sentence in my resume for 10 years , you know , sold and managed projects ranging from 5 million to 25 million managing team sizes of blah , blah , blah .

It's one bullet and it's , it's a little paragraph .

It takes up that much real state .

So , you know , it , it depends , II I don't have a hard and fast rule .

It also depends on the length of your bullets .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Uh You know , the bullets I was giving you were complete and they could have even been shorter .

Those could have been shorter , but I just , I wanted to take the ones that they , that , that the people actually used because I think they were good .

I think they were solid .

I think they answered the questions .

So I hope that helps .

Um I don't have a hard and fast rule though on that .

All right , let's keep going here .

Angela .

I find myself having a difficult time with this .

How do we E A or admin assistants quantify Angela .

That's a great question .

Maybe the people we supported are full details or tasks .

All right , executive admins , rejoice .

Here's some ideas and Kim and I hope , I hope that's what you were getting at .

And so hopefully I'm catching up and getting your question answered .

Executive admins , do a lot of stuff .

Ok .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

You might be managing schedule , you might be answering the phones , you might be uh interacting uh uh as liaison between your boss and the outside world .

It might be the inside world .

It might be different units in the company .

It might be with partners .

There's a whole host of things that you do start to think about .

Anything .

You can tell me a number about .

Uh Well , I don't know how many people do you support ?

How many units do you support ?

How many different um functions and duties do you have ?

Do you have 10 duties , uh 10 duties including list them out ?

Um How , how much um customer service time do you spend externally handling issues ?

Uh 40% of my job is this , these are all numbers that give the reader a visual .

So there's tons of ways that you can quantify that stuff .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So think about anything you can actually quantify , you might be um look , managing spreadsheets uh for budgets , how , how big is the budgets and those kinds of things ?

Anything that you do that and , and , and of admins , there's a wide range of them and they do a lot of different things for a lot of different people .

I mean , we had a um my wife and I , we just moved into this home in October and we had a real estate agent and that real estate agent had an executive administrator that supported not only her but the entire office , but she did a whole lot of stuff .

And so you know , how many clients are , is she communicating with and coordinating ?

How many homes did her real estate agent sell that she supported ?

I mean , anything that you can think of that paints a picture to show the magnitude of what you contribute is , is valid , is valid in my opinion .

OK .

So I hope that helps .

All right .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Uh True is asking me , didn't you mention there should be no bullet points in a resume ?

No .

Uh no , I did not mention that I'm not sure if you're asking me um or is that irrelevant when it comes to quantified achievements ?

So folks , let me clarify , I would definitely suggest downloading the professional resume template .

You will note that in the career profile section , I recommend two paragraphs .

Then there's the highlights section .

I recommend three bullet points .

Then there is the professional work or work experience section , professional experience .

I recommend you list the company name , then a little summary of the company and your relation and what you do with that company , then your title , then your bullet points .

So if you take a look at the template , you'll see it .

But yes , bullet points are a way of life .

60 , good to see you man .

You're enjoying this 50 degree weather with us .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Uh And you have a question , should the one bullet with quantifiable measurement include the impact it made with your department and your organization or should it be separate ?

No , make it one bullet .

It's one story .

It's all together .

All right .

He uh six do asked one more again .

Uh One more right in the wake of that , I have experience in security management and truthfully dealt with .

Um I'm not sure what that recens and reactions uh in monitoring and inspections but not numbers like a budget .

Well , security management , I'm assuming you're talking about not uh physical security but actually uh networking , security and those kind of things .

How many systems are you securing ?

What is your late , you know , there's a number of things that you know , up time , you know , there's uh I know you guys try to break stuff .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

What's your percentage of , of , of shielding ?

I mean there's a , there's a whole lot of stuff you can do there if you're talking about that .

Actually , that was your next question ?

Ok .

Dental photography made easy is back .

Sorry for the confusion with my questions .

I started with , oops , you guys are sorry , you guys are clapping .

Ok .

Sorry for the confusion with my questions .

I started with sales at IBM 21 years .

Awesome .

Left to be a self-employed consultant .

Cool .

Working to get back into it as a PM or business analyst .

OK .

So I'm not sure there again what the question is , but that's cool .

I mean that's a good colorful uh good colorful uh background .

Uh six do here again .

Should the one bullet with ?

OK .

Wait , he already said that drunken monkey first does one need to put skills near the top for someone looking to get into the software project manager role , especially if they're junior .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I have tech skills , but I have no jobs in the field .

So drunken monkey fist and for all of you , for all of you who are in software field and for those of you who are architects and designers and coders and all that good stuff .

One of the things that I recommend is I'm not a fan of listing skills in columns .

I mean it takes up real estate columns are boring .

Uh The A TS gets confused .

So the second paragraph of the career profile should list your core competencies .

So you're uh so , so you're um sorry , I think I lost the .

So , so you're um you have skills in software development or technology , whatever it is or maybe it's software , project management or something of that nature , then what you can put is skilled in and then list whatever languages or technical skills , hardcore technical skills that you have and make that kind of the second sentence of that second paragraph .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Then what you could do at the bottom of the resume if you want , this is kind of a variation from my template .

You can add a skill section and list your skills and I would just list them in kind of sentence format with commas that just show or if there's certifications , you wanna list them that's fine , but don't exceed the two pages .

I hope that helps .

All right , Angela , you are welcome .

Six do here again .

I have experience in security manager and with responses to emergencies and reactions and monitoring and inspections but not numbers like a budget .

It's ok buddy .

I mean , all those things can be folks when you are handling a lot of stuff over a long period of time , it's OK to quantify in terms of on a weekly basis , on a monthly basis , on a quarterly basis , on a whatever you you can , what the , what you're trying to do is you're just trying to give the reader a clear picture of what it is you're communicating and the impact that you've had that you , that you've made .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But the bigness is there when you , when you can paint it like that .

All right .

TP .

Uh TP .

Oh , sorry , sorry .

You guys are just going fast and furious here .

It looks like I missed a question .

Uh oh , hey , uh Kara do me a favor .

Oh , wait , Kara's gone .

Sorry guys , I'm flying alone here .

Um All right .

Hang on TP I think it's Tpgjes 71 .

I know you were on last night .

Let me see if I can find it .

Oh , here we go .

Oh I got it .

It says should we state last drawn salary and reason for leaving in a resume ?

Great questions .

Never .

No and no , your compensation , your reason for leaving has no place in the resume .

Don't waste any real estate doing that .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And a lot of times those things need to be communicated verbally and need context .

Do not .

It's too , it's too easy for them to be misconstrued in a resume .

So .

No .

Uh No , definitely not .

All right .

Wait , did I ?

Something happened here ?

I must have sorry folks .

The , the chat is super long and I'm trying to get I see guys .

Good , good .

OK .

Wait , I think I'm oh my wife Linda , some of you who are in my boot camp know my wife .

She is the love of my life and I can't imagine how I ever lived without her for almost a half a century .

So um Linda's here to help me and Linda .

I'm , I'm a little lost here from Florida .

Thanks .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

OK , Angela as an admin .

Sorry , I'm just looking here .

OK , wait , I think I got , I think I'm back on track .

I think I've got Angela Isaac here again as an admin assistant , I can quantify the people I support and give full description of my tasks and I know how to use power .

Verbs , manage , senior vice example , manage senior vice presidents count .

Yes , that's great .

That's perfect .

Love it , Sean .

He's talking about me .

They said they will get back to me late next week .

That is case you're going around .

OK .

TPGJES 71 .

I got another question here .

I found from you .

Hi Andy , I am Jasmine from Malaysia .

Wonderful .

Thank you .

I wonder what time it is there ?

Is there a max number of page guideline for a great resume .

Two is the maximum folks .

If I could get a 30 year career down to 26 words , you can get your professional experience down to two pages .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And if you are laughing at me because you don't think you can get it down to two pages .

I'm telling you you are putting in stuff that is way over the top that , that is not bullet worthy .

It's not resume worthy .

We don't need to see every single thing that you've ever done .

We need to get a sense of the impact and your skills and all that good stuff .

So two is the magic number done .

How should you handle initial phone interview ?

Nervousness done ?

One of the things that I'd recommend is I have a ton of videos on my youtube channel and my blog , one of them is about job interview confidence .

I would definitely check that out .

It's got a lot of great tips of how to prepare to get rid of your nervousness .

It's the best answer I can give you right now .

I mean , it's , it's , it'll be good .

It'll be really help you .

Ok .

Ryan Dennis , two pages to a resume .

Nelson's right on that .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Um Let's see , Jasmine again , I have been in quality management for 22 years .

I have experience in six companies .

Should I only state experience latest 3 to 5 or all of it ?

Ok , folks here .

That is a great question .

Let's broaden that thing up because I know there are a lot of you who actually have , you know , 68 companies in your career or maybe you've been working like me 30 40 years or whatever it is .

What I recommend is depending on um the uh quantity of years at each company because so for example , I've been working 30 years , but my first uh job was 10 years .

So way long ago , I had a 10 year run and then my second job was five years and then I had a couple of years and then I opened up my , and then the rest has been , been my own business .

But you might be somebody who , when you were 22 you got a job for two years and then you had another job for two years and another job for two years .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And you've been working for 20 years , what you can do , the , the , the , the , the spirit of the guideline that I wanna give you is the further away from today that you go , the less real estate on the resume you need to , you need to take up if you've worked for a bunch of companies , you know , within a five or six year span and you've been working for 22 years .

What you can do is at the , at the bottom of the resume , just say , um , you know , between , uh , you know , 1990 19 or , you know , whatever is 1995 in 19 , in 2000 or whatever it is .

Um , you know , worked for reputable companies such as , and then list three of them right away and then , and then performing what kind of duties in general ?

And that's it .

And now that gives it , that gives them a complete picture if you want to drop it off because it's not really relevant .

That's ok too .

I don't have a problem with that .

Um , but there's , there's different ways to handle , to handle that .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So there's no hard and fast rule how many companies you wanna put on because it's really , you wanna make sure that the employer is getting a sense of the skill sets that you bring and those early uh jobs for some of you are still relevant , the fact that you learn certain things in those jobs , whether it's selling skills or technical skills or whatever it might be .

Ok ?

Hey , I want to reiterate um we're gonna be , we're gonna be closing it down here in a , in a , in a wee bit .

So if you got any questions about the boot camp , the offer still stands .

If you enroll now for 4 97 you get the 30 minute coaching call with me .

If you want to do the trade up , you just email me , you let me know if you want to do the the trade up and get the and get the 30 minute call .

You just email me and let me know I'll know that you sent it during this session .

Ok .

Back to your questions .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Crystal is asking , can you please make a note of that site in your description box ?

But Crystal , I'm not sure .

Um which site you were talking about ?

I don't know if it was job scan dot co that um that you were asking about .

So J jab scan just like it sounds Jo Bs Can dot Co .

Um I I , all of my sites are in the description .

Um So I hope , I hope that helps .

Let me see .

So Robert Bowers is asking who should I be seeking out if I am trying to define who I am ?

My brand and my target ?

Robert .

Um I'm glad I just mentioned my boot camp .

The whole first session of the boot camp is all about who you are and what you're about and what you need and your requirements and all that good stuff .

So you can seek me out if you , if you want .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I I II I got you covered .

It's a , it's a big deal .

It's a big deal .

Ok , Jasmine again .

Should we state last on salary ?

Ok .

I think I , oh , I think I already got that one .

All right .

Brew Jeffre part one had a great discussion with the hiring manager discussion .

Got to the point where she started describing the territories .

Jeff's a sales person folks and that I should apply for both .

He , he um and then decide later .

Ok .

So its context since I know Jeff and he's in , he's like super mile academy guy .

Um Jeff is uh targeting a company .

They had uh two positions that were , you know , kind of one .

And then the next one up I think , and he's giving , he's saying he's had a great discussion now .

Um He's asking me a question I applied on the career website as directed by the hiring manager and 24 hours later received a can rejection email stating they had other more qualified candidates .

What gives here .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So , Jeff , uh and everybody else , those systems are probably programmed and set to automatically reject everything that comes in .

So what that , that , that probably didn't pass a certain sniff test .

So they took your resume .

You actually had a conversation with somebody who likes your , your background .

Uh Then she told you to submit it .

Then the applicant tracking system looked at your resume probably against the two jobs that you submitted it for and said it doesn't match close enough , send them an auto rejection email .

That's probably what happened .

Just so you folks know and , and , and let's take this a step first .

So what gives , that's probably what gives I would just email her back and let her know and say , what are the next steps ?

I know you , you know , you enjoyed my background and so on .

Um There are stories out there , I read them all the time .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Everyone .

Thank you so very much for joining me .

My name is Cassandra and I'm going to guide you through this 30 minute sun salutations flow .

So this is basically an updated and longer version of this 15 minute class I did a few years ago .

So we are mainly focusing on going through sun salutations as well as some standing poses and then we'll end things um with some nice hip openers to really focus on flexibility a little bit .

But this is a pretty dynamic strong flow .

I would say the poses themselves are all very beginner friendly .

However , because of the amount of strength really that we're working on cultivating with this practice as well as the pacing of the class itself might make it more suitable for intermediate practitioners .

So beginner to intermediate somewhere in that realm and no props are required .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So before we actually stand up and get through our sun , we're going to start on our mat um beginning in bolos , I'm gonna do something a little bit differently to focus on my feet a little more .

So I'm gonna keep my knees pretty close and towards each other and I'm just gonna tuck my toes under so that I'm resting my hips towards my heels and then I'm gonna walk my hands forward and melt on down .

And if you prefer , you can always do the wide legged version of child's pose , whatever your body needs today .

Hm .

So you use these first few moments to take some deep belly breaths , to clear your mind and to really get present with your body .

Noticing how you feel .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

This is a practice for inner and outer strength .

It also really helps us tap into the power of focus and concentration and it can help you learn how to sink your breath with your movements .

So our last three breaths here , if you'd like , you can add on a little shoulder and chest opener , pressing your palms together , bend your elbows and bring your thumbs towards the back of your neck , melting your heart down a little more .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Now , go ahead and just let your hips come back to sit on your heels and you're just going to stretch your arms forward .

Go ahead and make a fist and just roll and really try to focus on stretching at the top of your wrist here .

So because we'll be doing a lot of sun , all that means a lot of , and now go ahead and reach your arms all the way up overhead and you're gonna spread your fingertips wide .

All we're going to do is rapidly open and close our hands sounds simple , but I promise you you'll feel it soon enough .

So lift up shoulders , back and down rib cage in and just go ahead .

So make little fists and then open and spread your fingers and really go as fast as you can .

You're going to start feeling it through your forms into the front of your hands .

Keep going for about 10 more seconds .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Try not to lift your shoulders up to your ears and really shake it out back into our tabletop pose .

Let's go ahead and extend our right leg up and back .

Roll that right inner thigh down , flatten out through your lower back and maybe add on by extending your left arm forward .

We're holding steady here , making that first connection with our core strength , reach back through that heel and bring your left hand down .

Go ahead and step your right foot out to the side .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So your hip , your knee and your foot are all along that same lane and you can go ahead and lift on up , coming into our gate post side bend , left arm reaches all the way up and over and you can slide your right hand down your leg , pulling your lower belly in .

Let's come all the way back through to center into our table top pose and bring that right knee back .

And this time left leg goes up and back , roll that hip down , pull your stomach in , maybe extend your right arm forward .

So even here , notice where your body weight is going .

Try not to let it all go into your left wrist .

Really push into your fingertips and knuckles , right hand down , left foot , steps out to the side .

So I have myself in a line here before lifting up into your gate pose .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Right arm reaches up and over , coming back through to center and from tabletop , we'll transition to our first downward facing dog , walk your hands a little bit past your shoulders before tucking your toes and lifting your hips up and back .

So I'm currently healing for from a bit of a pulled hamstring .

So I'm gonna be keeping my knees fairly bent in my downward dogs also in any forward folds that I'm doing .

So , just feel free to also do this at home .

If you'd like , you really don't need to worry about having your legs super straight , but do focus on lengthening out through your arms and reaching your chest back towards your thighs .

Let's walk our feet forward to the top of the mat for your rag doll fold .

So your feet are about hip with distance apart .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Exhale , fold back down , push into your feet , lead with your heart .

Circle the arms wide and up .

Inhale , exhale hands at your heart .

Let's do one more just like this .

Inhale .

Excel fold halfway lift , breathing , he fold , rise on up , inhale , exhale hands at the heart .

Now we're gonna add on our visa for Sun salutations .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

A an inhale exhale halfway lift this time , plant your palms and step your feet back to plank , pose straight line and we're gonna lower on the exhale all the way to our belly , point your toes back and a cobra pose , elbows are bent and hugging in exhale lower and we meet back downward facing dog .

Take one full inhale in your down dog .

And as you exhale , you can look forward and step your feet to the top of the mat .

Halfway , lift flat back , inhale , breathing and fold .

Press to stand , rise on a exhale , hands at the heart one more just like this .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Inhale , exhale halfway left in hell .

Step back to plank pose , straight line , connect with your core and then lower all the way cobra pose , little back bend here and we meet back downward facing dog , take a full breath in your down dog .

And as you exhale , look forward and step to the top of the mat so you can lift up halfway , lift flat back and fold , press the sound , reach your arms up overhead , exhale hands at the heart .

Perfect .

From here .

We're gonna add before we move into our sun salutations B , we're gonna take a standing side bend .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So you're going to bring your right foot , cross it behind your left and you can reach your right arm up and over , really push out into your right hip .

Here , inhale back through to center on across the legs .

We'll do the same thing to the other side .

So across your left foot behind the right one , I'm kind of on the blade edge of that foot , left arm reaches up and over as I'm pushing my left hip out , coming back through to center , standing tall in your mountain pose .

Go ahead and lift your arms out in front of you with your elbows bent at a 90 degree angle .

Keep your core strong .

We're gonna inhale to find a little back bend with this cactus shape through your upper body .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And as you exhale round and contract , try to only isolate your upper body here , inhale and exhale chew more like this .

Really get that nice big chest opener and exhale to release and go ahead and release your arms down sun salutations .

B So this is with chair pose and warrior one , I'm gonna keep my feet hip with distance apart for this one .

So let's go ahead chair pose , sink it down , exhale , fold forward and down halfway .

Lift flat back , plant your palms , plank poses , inhale this time , hover halfway and lift up into your upward facing dog .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So your hips are off the mat back into your downward facing dog , lifting through those hips right foot forward in between your palms to the top of the mat .

Virasal one , your back foot is at a 45 degree angle .

Inhales .

You reach and press your palms together .

Exhale to lower , step back , chatter again and how upward facing dog exhale , downward facing dog , step your left foot forward .

We'll take warrior one on the second side .

Plant that right heel down and he arms rise .

Exhale Vinyasa again .

So you're flowing from your plank to Chataan to your upward facing dog and back into your downward facing dog , we're gonna inhale a full breath .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And as you exhale , you can look forward and step or hop to the top of the mount halfway , lift flat back , exhale , fold , toss in a chair pose , bend your knees , lift your arms up and press the stand hands at your heart one more time .

Exhale , fold halfway lift , exhale , plant the palms .

Step our hop back from plank to chatter or your upward dog .

And we meet downward facing dog warrior .

One left foot steps forward back .

He is grounded in Hale palms together .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Look up , exhale , take your flow plank , lower back , bend downward dog warrior .

One right , footsteps forward , back , heel is grounded .

I'm pushing my feet into the floor to lift on up Viasa again , hands down , step the right foot back halfway down upward .

Facing dog downward , facing dog .

Take an inhale here as you exhale , look step or hop forward to the top of the mat .

Halfway , lift and fold chair pose , bend your knees , sink your hips , arms come up and we straighten hands at the heart .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Take a clearing breath , close your eyes and just feel your heart rate your breath rhythm .

So before we go into the hatha yoga version of sun salutations , we're gonna take a few more standing poses from here .

So go ahead and widen your feet , hip with distance apart .

Make sure you really have your shoulders over your hips .

Hands at heart center , you're going to extend your right leg back behind you keep both hips facing forward for you .

But in a three , you're a warrior three .

So right leg goes up as your chest moves forward at most , you're parallel to the ground .

So remember what we were doing in tabletop poses when we had that right leg lifted .

It's the same action .

I'm kicking into that back heel .

I'm trying to square off my hips .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So square off through your hips and pelvis hands can come to your heart as you lean on your right leg , reach that left leg back and you can flex through that foot as you start to hinge and forward .

Really remembering those same key points we were working on in our warm up .

So let that left hip come down , push into your left heel , pull your lower belly in , try to fill up the space in your lower back and then maybe extend your arms up overhead if you really want to charge this up and if you really want to charge up this practice , try talking while you do it , I'll definitely get you .

Keep your gaze steady , very carefully .

Come all the way up to stand .

You're gonna bring your left knee in with you hands at your heart .

Find your balance here .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

If you supervised a team of 18 for about 30 days uh 0 30 days , 20 years ago .

And can't remember the name of the company that has now been merged with a larger company .

How would you handle it ?

I would , I I'm not , not , not being funny .

I would , I would do everything humanly possible to figure out the name of the company that it merged with and it , and you gotta be able to Google that stuff , but I would definitely find it and I would put the , you know , new company's name and then in the parentheses next to the new company's name , put formally doing business as in what it was called when you were there .

Ok , a couple more .

Let me see here .

All right , Nelson , I think , I , I think I'm right here .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Exhale , inhale arms , rise hands at your heart .

OK .

Let's do two rounds of half a serena Masar .

It's a little different from the sun salit that we've been doing as you inhale , reach up and add a back bent .

So , really lean back here .

Exhale , fold all the way down .

Inhale , step your right foot back , lower your right knee down .

This is a low lunge equestrian pose .

Step back downward facing dog , left foot meets the right , come forward into plank .

And we're gonna do eight limbed staph pose different from Chataan .

You're gonna lower knees down first and then chest and chin touch , hips are lifted , cobra pose , inhale , open through your chest .

Exhale downward facing dog , lift your hips up right foot , steps to the top of the mat .

Back knee comes down .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Equestrian pulls on the second side and as you exhale , you're gonna kick off of that back leg to fold forward at the top of the mat .

Inhale , rise all the way up .

Find a back bend here .

Exhale hands at your heart one more .

Just like this .

Inhale , back bend , exhale , fold forward , inhale left leg , steps back , left knee comes down low lunge , downward facing dog plank pose , lower your knees , chest and chin cop proposed back to your downward facing dog .

Step your left foot through , lower your right knee to the mat .

Low lunge , push off of your right foot to fold forward at the top of the mat .

Rise all the way up .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And I put my , the process that I went through um out there on the site for everybody to see and , and how I evaluated it .

And then I became a recruiter .

And so I , I got to help people , but I was still consulting and I was still in the it space and I was helping organizations and , and then that's evolved into blogging and authoring .

And I've always been about helping the individual because it , it pleases me much more to , you know , help you transform your life 100% .

If I'm consulting for a company , it takes a lot longer and , and the change that organizations go through really dismantle a lot of the contributions you make to them .

But to that individual , if I could help shape your life and help you , uh be happy in your career , uh because I mean , you're , let's be honest , folks , you're all here for a reason .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Add your back bend , exhale hands at your heart .

Beautiful .

Let's just take a warrior two from here .

Keep your right foot forward , bring your left foot parallel to the back of your mat .

Go ahead and bend deeply into that right knee and extend your arms out .

Let's reverse left hand down right arm up .

Keep this side bend , just straighten your right leg and let's move into our triangle pose .

Right hand moves down .

Left arm stretches up , push your feet into the floor to come all the way up and just turn your right foot in .

So you now have both feet parallel to the shorter edges of your mat .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Left knee bends right , like a straight , come all the way back through to center and go ahead and lift on up , walk to the top of the mat one last time .

Let's find our classical sun salutation .

A last flow here .

Inhale arms rise , exhale , fold all the way down .

Halfway list , plant your palms , step the feet back plank lower to Teranga in house upward , facing dog and downward facing dog .

Let's hold here .

We're just gonna stretch everything out .

So bring your right leg up to the sky , bend your right knee , open up your hip into your pigeon pose .

You can bring your right knee behind your right wrist .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I feel I need to list at least four to show my work .

That's ok .

Show , show everything if you , if you can .

Um , wait , oh , I think I passed some .

What's the best way to find a person's name for the cover letter ?

So a couple of things , um , you can call in to the organization , you can scout it through linkedin and other places .

If you , there's a million ways to do that if you are .

If you absolute the question I actually get asked more often is if I can't find somebody's name , how should I address the cover letter ?

Do not address it to whom it may concern .

It's old fashioned .

It's out of style .

What you wanna do is it's ok to say , dear , hiring manager , dear , hiring official , dear hiring team at company XYC .

That's ok .

It's a little more personal , but I would , I would do whatever I can to actually find the name .

All right folks , I am gonna hit it .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Reach that lift leg back behind you square off through the pelvis and maybe you just want to hold the pose from here or you can melt on down , placing your hands on the mat or on your arms take five breaths here .

So , cooling down , trying to slow our heart rate a little and let your hips be heavy and start to lift back up .

Let's go back into our downward dog .

So we can repeat this over on the second side .
