Hey , there , this is Brad from first psychi dot com .
And in this video , I'll be explaining what a blog is , who writes blogs and what you can expect when creating your own blog .
We'll start with some slides and then I'll show you some live examples in just a minute or two .
So let's get started .
All right .
So put simply a blog is a website or a section of a website that consists of regularly updated entries .
These entries are known as blog posts and are most commonly sorted by the date they were published from oldest to newest on the front page .
Uh Unlike blogs , websites refer to pages that tend to stay static or unchanged for long periods of time .
This is where blog posts and static websites are .
Most different blog posts are usually listed on the home page or the main blog page inside of a website with a short summary as well as a small button or text to click through to read the whole post , individuals , businesses and large organizations all utilize blogs to help inform , educate and entertain .
They're a great way to , to provide information updates on your products or even your life .
Many lifestyle bloggers travel and use the technology to add updates of where they are .
Blogs generally will have a feature on each blog post that allows for visitors to comment and leave their thoughts .
This is a great way to interact and build a fan base .
So make sure to take advantage of this unique opportunity on your own blog to answer questions and alleviate concerns .
Now , I want to show you a few live examples of some blog posts and websites with inner blog sections .
The first of which is smart passive income dot com , right off the bat .
You will notice that this first page , the home page is actually uh more of a static page .
It has some information about Pat Flynn , his latest podcast on the left and his latest blog post on the right .
However , if you click the view blog button right here , you'll notice that it'll take you to his main blog page where it lists his blog posts by the newest , the oldest .
Here is another example , a little more common example .
This time we're we're looking at get rich slowly dot org , which acts a lot more like a regular blog , but it has the full post on the page instead of just a snippet of the blog post .
So it shows the newest blog posts on the home page , sorted to the oldest after that .
And then if you click on the titles , it allows you to go to the inner blog post page on the block .
And finally , here's one more example , which is techcrunch dot com , which shows its blog posts in snippet form on the home page .
So if we scroll down here , they have a latest section .
And then on the latest section , it shows a 3 to 4 line piece of text of the article of the blog post .
And then you have the read more button down here to click and go to the individual page .
Ok , great .
That wraps things up for this video .
