So if you're watching this video , you're probably a fan of Minecraft and playing Minecraft on your chromebook is very easy provide that you have ubuntu installed .
Now , if you've done ubuntu install , check out my installation video down below in the description and with that , let's get to it .
OK .
So the first thing you need to do is boot into ubuntu , hit control plus alt plus T to bring up the terminal inside the terminal type in shell and type in CDU start unity or whatever desktop environment that you're using .
If you're coming from a fresh installed ubuntu , you will first need to get a web browser , go to search and open up XTERM inside of X term type in apps , get install software center .
This one saw the Ubuntu software center inside of the ubuntu software center .
Search for a web browser .
The popular choices are usually chrome and Firefox .
Now that you're all set up , navigate to the Minecraft website , log in and download the Minecraft jar file for Linux .
Go back to the software center and install open JDK .
This will allow you to run the jar file .
Now go to your downloads folder , right ?
Click on a jar file and go to properties enable to file for execution .
Finally , right .
Click on a file and select open with JDK from there .
You should have Minecraft up and running for the most part performance is very smooth .
There are a few occasional moments alike but nothing major .
Of course , you will want to connect an external mouse for optimal gameplay and there you have it .
