Air Fryer Pickles - Fried Pickles - Air Fryer Recipes

Hi guys today on Divis Can Cook , we are making Southern style fried pickles , one of my favorite appetizers ever .

These bad boys are so crispy and well seasoned in that sauce .

Mhm .

The , let's go .

OK .

We're gonna start with all of our spices .

I have a ton of different spices , some smoked paprika , all kind of yummy stuff .

Ok .

As always , don't guess at anything , you can get the recipe on my blog .

Go ahead and mix that all up in some flour just like that's wonderful .

Ok .

And then we're gonna go ahead and just kind of push this aside and we're gonna bring Ford , my best friend and the egg .

What we're gonna do is go ahead and add this buttermilk into the egg mixture .

I like for my fried pickles to like kind of have that Southern style fried chicken breading on it .

You know what I'm saying ?

Like the crispy type breading .

So , yeah , the buttermilk and egg does it for my pickles .

I am using Mount Olive mini stuffers .

I love using these for fried pickles .

It's just so yum and I went ahead and press them in between paper towels .

So they're like , really , really dry and they're perfect and ready to use .

Right .

So now I'm gonna go ahead and add my little oil to my pan .

My pan is like , so warped .

I don't know what happened to it .

Jeez .

But while that oil is heating up , go ahead and get your little dipping station on all prepared .

I got my little pan lined with par and paper .

Everything is ready to go .

OK ?

Here's how we're gonna do .

We're gonna take a little to ple .

I'm trying to be really proper and be like pickle , but I really wanna say pickle because that's how I say it .

OK .

P IC kull that is how I say it .

Dump it in the buttermilk mixture and then place it in that flour mixture .

Toss it around , shake off that excess and boom .

Done so easy .

Go ahead and do that until you have all of the pickles well coated .

OK ?

Just like that .

And you can do like several at a time .

I do , you know .

And next , we're going to go ahead and coat them again because you can see that , you know , the flour kind of gets absorbed in that first coating .

So now we're just gonna place it back into the flour .

I don't put it back in the buttermilk .

I just put it back into the flour mixture .

Toss it around again and then that is going to be my final coating because I like a nice thick coating on my fried pickles .

And I don't like , um , restaurant fried pickles at all .

I only like this kind of right here .

I'm very picky when it comes to my fried pickles .

All right now , go ahead and place this into that hot , hot oil .

If you have peanut oil can use that .

But I'm using vegetable oil .

These right here .

They don't take any time to get done .

Like what ?

1 to 2 minutes , maybe no time at all to make these bad boys .

And whenever they get nice and golden like this , they are done , go ahead and place them on paper towels to drain and then start on your next batch .

I had to do like two different batches with these and they remind me so much of like chicken nuggets .

My sons were like , are you making chicken nuggets ?

And I'm like no honey .

I am making fried pickles .

Love , love , love me some fried pickles .

Now , um for the sauce .

Ok , let's talk about sauce .

Normally , I'll do like a Mississippi comeback sauce or a French rice sauce .

We ain't doing that today .

I'm doing a very , very , very easy sauce because these fried pickles , you guys are kind of spicy and the pickle part is kind of , you know , salty and vinegary .

So the sauce is kind of like sweet is perfect .

So do not , do not skip the sauce .

You have to make the sauce .

Ok .

Let's move on to the sauce .

Here it is .

We're gonna add a little bit of mayonnaise into a bowl .

I'm using Duke's mayonnaise because it is the best .

What ?

Yes .

And then I'm gonna add some ketchup into this bowl .

Just dump that right on in .

And then we're gonna add some spices , just sugar and Italian seasoning .

Trust me on this one , you'll need a lot of stuff because these um fried pickles are seasoned really , really well .

So I'm not gonna put in anything else in this sauce and it's gonna be the bomb with these pimples .

I promise you .

Ok .

So that looks wonderful .

And now we are done .

Go ahead and start this up immediately even though um I actually like these cold like I can eat them cold .

But yeah , they are the best when they're hot out of that oil .
