How to cook steak on the stove _ New York strip steak recipe

Welcome to cooking where we make cooking effortless .

And today I got a special one for you guys .

We're gonna be making a New York strip with two side dishes .

You're gonna wanna stay tuned to find out exactly how we're gonna do this step by step before we get into this video recipe .

So moving on to our pasta salad , we're gonna dice up some yellow and some red pepper .

We're gonna steam some broccoli and cook some pasta any pasta of your choice .

I've got some clean sliced red onion and some freshly grated Parmesan cheese .

And this is all to make this beautiful easy pasta salad .

And if you haven't noticed that little hand , you see there is my three year old daughter who insisted she had to help me or else this video was not going to be done .

You guys obviously saw there who won the battle , but the war is not over .

I mean , so the easiest way I found to cut a hassle , black potato is to just put two chopsticks on the side .

So when you're running your knife , it doesn't cut all the way through .

And once you actually have all your potatoes cut up , I just put them on a baking sheet , little olive oil , a little pepper .

And I'm actually gonna make a little mixture with this melted butter , garlic and some parsley and of course some freshly grated Parmesan .

We're gonna go and mix that up .

We're gonna spoon this mixture on the top of the potatoes .

We're gonna hit it one more time with some grated Parmesan .

And we're gonna preheat our oven to 3 75 until they're done .

Usually takes roughly around 15 to 25 30 minutes , depending on how big your potatoes are .

So , here I got two beautiful New York strip steaks and they're at room temperature .

We're gonna go ahead and salt and pepper them and the reason why they're at root temperature is just to help create a nice golden exterior .

So we don't wanna put a cold piece of meat in a hot pan because that's just gonna be counterproductive .

So , in a nice cast iron skillet , you're gonna throw in a little bit of oil , a little knob of butter and we're gonna get it nice and hot .

We're gonna sear both sides of the steak until they're nice and golden .

Now , if you've never used a cast iron skillet , I really highly recommend it .

If they're super versatile .

You can put them in the oven .

I just highly recommend it .

Cast iron is definitely a kitchen essential that I personally use in my kitchen .

Now , once we created that beautiful crust on both sides , we're gonna go ahead and throw in some crushed garlic and some rosemary .

And what we're gonna do , we're gonna base the steak once you have it based and the butter is cooked off a little bit .

We're gonna go ahead and put the rosemary sprigs right back on top .

And at this point , I'm gonna go ahead and add a little bit of more butter about two more knobs to be precise .

And while it's nice and bubbly , we're gonna go ahead and base the meat and what this process does , it grabs the nice buttery , um , like nutty flavor of the butter and it's actually cooking the steak at the same time .
