Play Piano - Hanon Exercise No. 2

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Hello , everybody .

Hello .

Hello .

Hello .

This is my , you know , I , when I first I , I believe one of my first , uh , lessons that I uploaded was uh hand and exercise number one and that was very popular .

And so I decided to , um , show you hand and exercise number two .

Very easy .

OK .

And more importantly , I'm gonna show you how you should practice once you've mastered and , and exercise .

Number one and number two , how you're supposed to practice it .

You're supposed to play one , you just alternate between one and two , you do it , but you repeat it four times and this isn't about speed now , I'll increase my speed because I don't want this video to be too long .

But , but I'm gonna start it off very slowly .

OK .

First of all , and start just uh one octave .

Well , lower poverty .

This is middle C , two octaves below middle C .

OK .

This is middle C me on my piano .

So this is two Os left hand , this is I'm gonna shoot a right hand finger in .

Here's the pattern very easy .

And of course , you know , your finger numbers 12345 .

So you start with C and it's like this .

No getting a piece with some excuse .

So it's like a one you skip , use your second finger to that ec vibes and that , see , I'll repeat it .

You see it , sorry .

Just depend is the right hand .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Now we can each other this big watch what happens including two and three in .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But again , it's not about speech , it's about taking it slowly .

Now once you get to this be , remember , that's when you got , once you play this beat , you're getting ready to turn around .

Good thing out there leaping four steps to the d when you're alternating between the 2nd and 3rd .

See that is slowing down .

So , ok .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Now the left hand , this one , when you're gonna do uh 53 , 53 up to that .

A OK .

Now , I'm sorry , I have forgotten .

Wait a minute and , and then you also between two and three in the left hand .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Yeah , that when you come down , let me check this out this quick .

Here you go , 135 , just skipping that for him , of friends .

Important .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Of course , when you combine them , you're using different things , but you just have to practice each hand separately slowly .

And , uh , let me see if I can do it .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Now , see , I'm , I'm trying to save time .

Ok .

But really , you should practice a , your fingers .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

It's hard to play slow and you figure , see when you're ascending on the , uh I believe from writing the , you're working , alternating between the 3rd and 4th finger , alternating between the 2nd and 3rd finger and , and when you return it , you're using descending , you working the 4th , 3rd and 4th finger in the left hand in the 2nd and 3rd finger in the right hand .

So you take da da , da , da , da , da da because that fourth finger and the fifth finger share one tendon .

So it's gonna be a little awkward .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

So you have to play it slow enough .

Always remember the first three fingers of your hand of your hand are the strongest because they had their own separate tendon where in 4th and 5th thing , if they share one tendon , that's why it's a little awkward .

And so these hand and exercise are designed for that to develop that .

Now , this is how you're gonna practice exercise one and two together .

I'm gonna play one , then I'm immediately gonna go into two .

Once I demish you , I'll go back to one .

When you go into 21212 .

You're supposed to do this four times again , people , it's not about speed , it's about , you know , a , a slow , smooth tempo .

OK ?

So here's a demonstration .

I'm not gonna do it four times , but I'm , I'm , I'm gonna do it one time .

But , uh , uh , you , you , this is how you should practice it .

OK ?

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

At a very comfortable temper .

OK ?

But for the second time again , I'm gonna pick it up , but I , I don't practice .

We normally I practice , gonna get into the keys .

You gonna dig it out .

No one cares about that spot .

This is hand in exercise .

One , I'm immediately going to two and this is how you should practice it .

So it's ok .

One , then I'm gonna go into two .

Here's one .

Chia are messed up .

See , I don't know , add and exercise and I've been doing this all my life too .

It's that skip .

So you know what the problem is ?

It's my left hand .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I'm gonna isolate the problem because I had to work with those , that third or fourth finger De Cindy .

So I was fine .

So I , that , that told me immediately that I'm taking it too fast .

So I'm gonna have to slow it down back and right .

But let's focus on my left hand that 34 is messing with me .

Ok ?

So I'm gonna hold , I have to check that thing is that thing ain't right .

I'm not sure I'm doing it right .

135 to fire .

There it is .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

I was doing two .

The problem has to go wrong .

Third thing , one and alternation between that 3rd and 4th .

Getting .

See , that's what you're supposed to do when you're doing your own practice .

Whenever you run into a problem , don't just brush it aside , tackle it , focus in on it .

So , in hand and exercise number two , I would really focus in on that left hand descending because you're , you're using 3rd and 4th fingers .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But when you ask Cindy you , uh , it's easy because you're only gonna use , uh , you're using your , um , let me check with you .

Make sure I have it right for you .

You're using your , uh , is it using two and three as Cindy ?

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And , and there again , they're strong slopper .

Ok .

Now that I've warmed up , which I should have done .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

But anyway , to let you know how important these exercises are , I mean , and I , I've been doing this for all my life , but still , if you don't do it every day , you lose it .

So , uh , but that doesn't have anything .

So , anyway , here , I mean , what you practice , but just do that .

Ok , now that I've been warmed up , I'm gonna demonstrate how to practice again .

Once you've mastered one and mastered two at a comfortable speed , you combine both without stopping and you do this four times .

So this means that you're gonna be sitting around at the piano for like five or 10 minutes or 20 minutes , depending upon the speed .

So , here we go again .

I'm gonna try it again .

Ok , here we go .

I'm gonna play one .

Then I'm gonna go into two .

Here's one .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

Now , what you realize is this , I only did that but 2 , 2.5 times , whatever , but I could feel tension in my arms because I was taking it too fast .

But just do that every day , just do hand and exercise at a comfortable speed .

Remember when you're coming down , pretend that I'm coming down that I'm listening .

What ?

Keeping strict tempo ?

Ok .

And go email me back .

Let me know if it helps .

It should .

Ok .

video content Image generated by Wilowrid

And I'll see you the next time .

Bye bye but .
