It's very simple .
Give it a practise and it will work every time .
Now you want to avoid cutting them to see whether they're cooked or not , because you'll lose some of the juices and they can go a bit tough .
So I want my steak medium rare .
These look absolutely , perfectly done to me .
So I'm just gonna take them off the barbecue and put them onto a warm plate that I've got to the side and just let them rest very happily for about five minutes so that all the juices relax and they're beautiful and succulent when you eat them .
Follow these few simple tips , and you have the perfect steak every single time .

Just keep an eye on it , but it's nothing to worry about at all .
So how long do you cook the steaks for ?
The general rule is , if they're about 1.5 centimetres thick .
You want to do about 1 1.5 minutes each side for rare , 2 to 3 for medium and 3 to 4 minutes each side for well done .
But if your steaks are a little thicker like we've got here , say 2 to 3 centimetres .
You want to give them 2 to 3 minutes each side for rare , 3 to 4 each side for medium and 4 to 5 minutes each side for well done .
These are looking fantastic .
They're ready to turn now .
Gonna turn them over with these tongs .
Beautiful .
Go lovely and sizzling .
So the other way to test when the stakes are done is by using your hands .
So if you touch your thumb against your index finger like this and just touch the soft part .
Here .
You get the same feeling as a rare steak , so just get your tongues .
Give them a press , and if they feel the same , you've got rare .
Now , if you touch your middle finger , it firms up a little bit .
It slightly changes , and that will give you medium rare .
Touch your ring finger there , give you medium , and with your little finger , that's exactly the same as well done .
