Drag Race - BMW M2 vs Mercedes A45 AMG

It's a 100 year rivalry but it has never been so compact BMW .

S latest M car sticks to the company's rear wheel drive recipe with 272 kilowatts from a three liter turbo straight six .

While Mercedes Benz's hottest hatch develops an incredible 280 kilowatts from a two liter turbo sending that power through all four wheels , which would certainly be an advantage off the line with more power and more traction .

The odds were stacked in favor of the AM G but with less weight and a larger engine , the M two would certainly put up a fight three .

Ok .

It doesn't get much closer than that .

Even though these cars have very different engines and very different drive trains , just 1 , 1/100 of a second separated them in the end with the A class just edging ahead of the M two for victory .
