Hello and welcome to five things .
We think you should know about the Ford Ranger number one with its 3.2 liter five cylinder turbo diesel engine .
The Ford Ranger still offers class leading power and torque developing an impressive 147 kilowatts and 470 Newton meters .
The Ranger makes an ideal towing vehicle capable of towing up to 3.5 tons .
Ford claims the motor will still use only 8.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers .
Number two , 2015 facelift saw the ranger receive an all new dashboard featuring Ford's latest sync to touchscreen infotainment system .
While the design is a little fussy , the functionality is extensive and the voice recognition system seems to work well with our South African accents .
There are also two customizable screens directly in front of the driver next to the analog speedometer .
Number three tested against its competition .
The ranger offered an impressive ride quality on a variety of road surfaces .
The Ford feels sure footed on gravel and smooth on tar .
It is a heavy vehicle but it deals with its bulk very well .
Number four , according to our tests amongst the double cab bucky on sale today , the ranger still offers class leading rear leg room .
This is thanks in part to its longer wheelbase .
This means the ranger should be more comfortable on longer journeys for all passengers .
It really is more of a leisure vehicle than a workhorse .
And lastly , number five , the looks while many owners are choosing to bolt aftermarket kits to their rangers , we think the revised looks are fine just the way they are .
While styling has definitely been borrowed from Ford's F series sold in the USA .
That's no bad thing as this face lifted ranger looks bold , strong and capable .
