It is a special video for you today .
I'm excited to get into it .
We are doing three different types of suede .
One being red , which tends to bleed .
So we're going to show you how to clean these effectively .
We will be using our essential kit and our dry suede kit .
I'm really curious to see how these turn out .
I have an idea in my brain of which one I think is going to clean up the best .
Why don't you guys let us know in the comment section below which one you think is going to clean up best ?
Do it .
Now , we'll see if you're right without further ado , let's get started .
Ok .
The first shoe I'm going to clean today is this Puma .
So I'm going to go ahead and set these to the side .
I'm gonna set these over here , slide this over .
I guess I'll do the right shoe on all of these .
So I'll clean the right shoe on every single pair .
First thing we're going to do , put the shoe tree in um for those of you that don't know the shoe tree inside the shoe is gonna allow us to apply pressure to the toe box , letting us get a much better clean .
Second thing I'm gonna do is go ahead and take out this lace .
These things are dusty Arizona heat .
If you don't live in Arizona , don't come right now because it is miserable here , it's so hot .
Walk outside and you feel like you're gonna melt .
All right , next thing we're gonna do , we're gonna go ahead and open our essential kit .
There's something oddly satisfying about .
Here's our essential kit .
It's got three brushes , soft suede brush .
We got a stiff bristle brush and a medium brush .
We do have a towel .
So I have an extra towel and then our four spot cleaning solution .
I'm going to take the soft bristle brush and I'm just going to dry brush this dirt and dust out of here without getting these shoes wet at all .
I've managed to do a pretty good job cleaning this .
So you want to avoid getting swayed wet as long as you can .
Now , some reacts well to water and some doesn't .
So I just try to avoid it unless it's ultimately necessary because of stains .
But as you can see if we can get a close up here that I just dry , brushed this suede in one direction on this section of the shoe and you can see the difference between this and that .
So I'm just going to go over this entire shoe that way and then we'll come back and look at it .
Ok .
Before I go any further , I just want to show you just by brushing the shoe .
That's it .
All we did was dry , brush it .
You can see the difference .
I'm not gonna get this shoe wet with solution and a brush .
I'm basically going to go ahead and move on directly to my , uh eraser and I'm gonna get some of the stubborn stains in here .
Ok .
Now that I've gone over the entire shoe with our sued eraser , I'm just gonna take the nice suede brush we have here reset the nap .
This one is looking good .
Now , what I do need solution for in using these brushes is to clean the mid soul because you're not going to be able to do that with the sued eraser or suede brush .
But we are going to try to minimize the amount of water that we get on the uppers .
So let's just go ahead and do that .
I'm gonna go ahead and just start with the medium bristle .
I'm gonna shake off as much excess water as I can .
And then that way , I don't get any overspray onto the suede and I'm just going to gently go over this avoiding contact with the uppers .
Now that I've hit that section with the medium , I'm going to go ahead and take our stiff bristle brush looks good .
Let's wipe it .
As you can see the difference here looks much , much better .
I don't know if you can see from the closer , but the top of this mid sole has a border and there's still a decent amount of dirt there .
So I'm just gonna take this because I have a little more control of my towel .
So as you can see , I got some water right on the edge .
So let's just try to brush that out .
We're gonna have to see what happens with that .
So let's try to do this .
A little cleaner .
Pumas should react pretty well to water .
I'm not too concerned about this discoloring .
But again , typically , when you're cleaning suede and you get it wet , you want to clean the entire shoes .
So there's no discoloration or water marks .
We're gonna see how this looks after a couple of minutes .
I think it'll be fine .
We'll be able to brush it out without any discoloration , but we'll find out shortly .
You can see that side .
You can see this side where this side is drying completely .
Um We'll go ahead and do the other side begin trying to avoid getting water on the uppers .
So you just want to be really detailed with this brush .
You'd be surprised just cleaning your mid sole , how much better your shoe will look just from doing that .
So it's essential to have the right brushes that way you can get it as clean as possible .
We're going to go back to the towel .
I still think that you have more control with this rather than the brush .
We'll just be a little bit more careful this time .
I typically don't do this , but I'm going to do it on this shoe .
I'm gonna go ahead and hit the unders sole .
Ok .
Looks pretty good .
So as you can see the difference , these results were achieved by using basically just our brushes and sued eraser on the uppers and then using our medium bristle brush and stiff bristle brush with some solution and water on the m .
So this looks like it will be fine again .
Once it dries completely , I'm going to go ahead and just reset the nap and brush that out .
But I don't think we're going to get much discoloration .
So I'm going to go ahead and clean this lace , let it dry , move on to the next pair and we'll keep it moving .
Ok ?
Now that we've finished , number one , all we're doing is letting the laces dry .
We're going to move on to shoe .
Number two old school vans .
A lot of you have this shoe .
Some people like to rock it dirty me personally , I don't like rocking dirty shoes at all .
I don't care if it's a converse or vans .
So I want mine clean .
What we're going to do is take out these laces .
This is gonna be a very similar process .
What I may do with this one is take the damp towel and just kind of rub the material instead of getting it super wet .
But we'll find out after we brush it , go ahead and take our shoe tree .
Ok .
First thing we're gonna do take this , make sure it's dry .
It is .
I didn't use it to get anything wet and we're just gonna go ahead and brush now that I brush the dirt off , I'm going to look at the shoe .
I do see some spots near the edge of this liner and on the uppers that I'm wondering if the sued eraser will take out .
So let's go ahead and take this sued eraser .
Let's try to hit some of these spots if that doesn't work .
I'm going to try a different technique to get these looking even better .
So you do want to be careful when you use the suede eraser on a darker colored suede like this because it may pull some of the color out .
So if you look at your sued eraser and you see green or red or whatever color shoe it is , you just want to make sure that you're super gentle and you're not pulling too much color out of the material , right ?
So the sued eraser didn't really work for those smaller spots that we showed you .
But when I took the towel and just took the tip of my finger and slightly buffed those areas , it seemed to take those spots out .
So that could be one technique that you use if you got some spots on your sued that you can't get out with the eraser .
So just take note .
But again , if you apply too much pressure , you could pull some of that color out of the material and onto this .
So just be very careful when you're doing it right now that we've cleaned the uppers .
Let's go ahead and move on to the mid .
So again , I'm gonna start with the medium bristle brush here again , careful not to splash any water up onto the uppers .
Now that I use the medium bristle , I'm going to go ahead and go with the stiff bristle .
You can get the bottom edge and any more stubborn areas on this mid .
So , so overall , it looks pretty good .
Where is this other one ?
Let's go ahead and do a comparison .
Now , what we're gonna do is we're just gonna do the finishing touches on this .
So again , I'm going to take Microfiber towel and I'm just going to buff out any spots that are still dirty look pretty good .
I'm I'm actually really happy with how these turned out .
We'll show you better before and after um towards the end of this video , but you can see right there totally different looking shoe .
Now , I'm going to go ahead and clean up this lace a little bit and then let it dry , we'll lace them up and show you the afters for this video .
Now the third and final shoe , it's a red suede Adidas with a super thick nap .
So I'm not sure if dry brush in this is gonna actually get all of this dirt out .
We will find out .
Let's go ahead and take these laces out .
Red can be challenging to clean for some reason , it bleeds quite heavily most of the time .
Set that aside .
First , we're gonna take the soft bristle brush actually , after I put the shoe tree in , there we go .
So now that we got that in there , let's go ahead and take the soft bristle brush .
Oh , it's working pretty well actually .
So as you can see , just after a couple brushes , the difference .
So if you can avoid getting your suede shoes wet , you should because you just never know how it's gonna react to water .
Ok ?
We went through one pass with the soft bristle brush and it did a pretty good job , especially on the thick nap where it still needs some work is on this fine nap .
Here it's a little smoother and there's some deeper stains .
So what I'm going to do now is take the sued eraser .
Um , as you can see that there , if we can get a close up , you still have some scuff marks or rub marks from heels or something .
We're going to go ahead and take this now that we've cleaned the uppers with the suede eraser and brush we're going to go ahead and move on to the medium bristle brush here , dip it in our solution and water mixture and hit the mid again .
You want to be careful not to get water up on the mid sole .
And I'm really using this medium bristle brush to loosen the dirt .
So when I go back with the stiff bristle , it'll get most of the stuff out hit this .
It's not doing the best job on this mid sole .
So we're just gonna go ahead and move to the stiff bristle because of the texture .
The mid on the Adidas is a lot harder to clean than the van shoe for sure .
As you can see right here , there's still some marks that are dirty .
So what I'm gonna do is take the towel , dip it in here .
These mid soles are a little more challenging to clean .
So we're going to have to use this Microfiber towel .
It allows you to apply more pressure resulting in a cleaner mids .
So , alright , it's looking good as you can see here .
The top of the toe box and mid sole is kind of where I used the microfiber towel applied , pressure buffed it out .
This is the bottom of just the brush , the brush for some reason on this mid sole just isn't cleaning it quite right .
So this technique will really help you get your mid sole , bright white .
Again , these took a little more elbow grease , obviously with using this microfiber towel .
But overall they turned out pretty good .
Let me show you look much better .
Now , we're just gonna clean this lace , let them dry , lace them up and we'll show you the final results laces are dry laces are in the shoes .
Shoes look great .
Really excited about this .
We did a video with three different types of suede , super thick nap , medium nap , fine nap .
They all look good .
You be the judge .
